Beautiful secluded and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

It’s way back in the woods, yet close to main roads and minutes from town. Jeff and Carol obviously take pride at keeping this house awesome. We swam in the pond and taught our pup how to swim there! It rained most of the time we were there but the games and ALL accommodations made us want to stay forever. We took our ATVs to the DCNR trails only 7 minutes from the house and rode every day! Thank you for an amazing visit! We WILL be back!

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great secluded getaway. Being a city person it was a little unnerving at first not having phone service but after a while it was nice not having to pick up your phone every few minutes to check it. Clear nights were great for stargazing from the deck. We had a great time hiking, biking and rafting in the in the Grand Canyon. Pine Creek Outfitter in Ansonia was very helpful in fitting us with the needed gear for our adventures. There’s also a nice hiking trail on the property that takes you up to the top of mountain in front of the house. On our way to Cherry Springs state park we encountered a momma bear and four cubs crossing Telescope road, very cool. It would have been nice to have air conditioning during the hot days but it cooled off nicely in the evenings.

Beautiful property but house in a state of disrepair

  • 3 of 5

We loved the property with the pond. It is beautiful to just walk the property and listen to the birds. Our dog was able to enjoy playing with a frisbee and jumping in the water. My 7 yr old nephew caught his first fish in the pond! These are the good memories we will have. Loved the seclusion along with the peace and quiet it brings.

The house was a different story. When we arrived the weather was so warm and humid but there was only 1 box fan in the upstairs bedroom.A ceiling fan in the sunroom did not work using pull chain or switch. The property managers brought over 2 fans to help after I contacted them about how uncomfortably warm and humid it was in the house. We tried to open windows to get cross breezes, but some of the windows were missing the crank handles used to open them. One window we could not close once we got it open so had to go out to the deck to push it closed. They are Very Old windows that need to be replaced. Some of the furniture had rips and holes in them. A screen door for sliding glass doors on lower level was in bad shape and needs to be replaced. The TV on lower level was not hooked up to satellite so was useless to even turn it on. The wrap around deck was wonderful if we could only use it. It has so much algae on it, it was extremely slippery to walk on when wet (it rained for several days before we got there). Very dangerous! It desperately needs to be power washed and restained or painted and kept up. The owners clearly do not maintain the house on a regular basis. If they did, it would be worth the money they ask for rental. We would love to come back, but I think I want to wait until the issues with the house are taken care of before we do.

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely stunning property. We loved our stay in God’s Country. The views, trails, abundant flowers and lovely pond we’re very picturesque. No cell service or internet, but we seemed to have everything we needed. The extra touches were nice, like the homemade cookies from the property owners. We hope to come back for a longer visit.

Nice get-a-way

  • 4 of 5

Nice (and quiet!) place. If you are looking to go just slightly 'off the grid', but not too deep in the woods, this is a great spot that's easy to access with pleasant hiking/biking trails. The owners were quick to respond to my questions and requests.
