About the property

Very Short Walk To Rec Ctr, Playground, Restaurant/Bar & Small Store

Although you wouldn't know it, our condo is 'next door' to the Trout Creek Rec Ctr (with its year round pool(s), hot tubs, steam room, sauna, work out/weights room, etc), the only local convenience/deli/coffee store in Tahoe Donner, and the Lodge restaurant/Pub/Golf Clubhouse/Pro shop. It's a perfect spot if some guests want to venture out by car, yet others want to hang around 'home.' Condo is set way back from the road so is nice and quiet, and overlooks the 18th hole through filtering, tall pine trees.

Cozy 2-bed, 1 1/2 bath 'end' condo with parking. It's more like a townhouse with only one adjoining wall. Queen bed in both bedrooms. Small sleeping loft above kitchen/dining room suitable for older children and agile adults only. 2 decks with a tree-filtered view of the 18th green. Warm gas fireplace. Baseboard heaters in each room. Wood-beamed ceilings: vaulted upstairs. Quiet location at back of complex. Cable TV, DVD/VCR, and WiFi. Kitchen has everything we think you'll need. Laundry Room in complex.

Many dates available, possibly at short notice. We may also be interested in a vacation house swap. Please note that we have included the mandatory 12% local Truckee taxes in the quoted room rate and cleaning.

Tahoe Donner is a wonderful mountain community in the North Lake Tahoe Truckee region of the Sierras, and offers an amazing variety of recreational facilities -- some for members and guests (you!) only. With your 'guest card' ($8pp per day) you gain access to the private HOA amenities. Children under 7 - no charge. Take a look as there is 'everything' seasonally available: private beach on Donner Lake, cross-country and downhill skiing, pools, hot tubs, sauna, steam room, massage, classes, ping pong, tennis, horseback riding, mountain and road biking, golf, nature walks, stunning hiking trails ... and the list goes on! To us, it's like a 5-star resort.

10 minutes drive from downtown old Truckee. Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City is a pretty 15 mile drive down Hwy 89 (parallels the Truckee River.) Very easy access to Hwy 80.

20 minutes or so drive to skiing at Squaw, Alpine, Northstar, Sugar Bowl, Royal Gorge.

No smoking or pets.

About Wendy

We are a family of four who have been going to Tahoe every winter to ski. Now that we have a place of our own we have fallen in love with the Tahoe area in the spring/summer/fall as well. It truly is a beautiful, magical place any time of the year.

Wendy purchased this condo in 2013

Why Wendy chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

We met one another at Squaw Valley one morning before setting off to the ski slopes. My husband proposed on the spot we met. We now all have many lovely memories of this whole region - skiing, sledding, snowman building, boating, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, sitting on the deck reading a book, and the list goes on and on.

What makes this condo unique

We stayed at a friend's house in Tahoe Donner and funnily enough, had never been to TD before. We were so impressed with all the Tahoe Donner amenities and its wide-open spaces. After looking at many different houses and condos, we stumbled across, in our view, this perfectly located condo and snapped it up. The location just cannot be beat, yet we have lovely tree views out the back and it's quiet. When looking out the windows, it's like tree-camping, but without the tents and all that hassle! In the winter, we have easy access to the main road which is probably the first one they snowplow. It's fun to see the chipmunks, rabbits and birds play around right outside our windows as well as hear the sound of a golf ball being hit in the distance.

Owner's Response: Hi Eric, Thank you! We're so glad you had a great time. We try to make the condo a "home from home" as much as we can and hope people enjoy staying there as much as we do. We love the view of the trees out of the big window, especially when snow is all around.

The perfect rental!

  • 5 of 5

I'm really satisfied with this rental property, starting with Wendy and Mike, the owners! They were so pleasant and accommodating, from the beginning to the end! The property itself is really cozy and well located. The kitchen was fully equipped (dishware, glassware, pots & pans). High speed internet, cable, board games, everything was perfect! I would recommend it to anybody for a friend's getaway or to a family with kids!

Our experience was great. We got to enjoy the Tahoe Donner amenities and the cabin was very cute, cozy, and charming -- as well as close to all the winter activities one would want to enjoy. Wendy was very organized, responsive, and a nice lady. Yes, we would love to stay here again!

Perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 - including 2 daughters ages 10 and 12 - LOVED our stay over Thanksgiving Weekend!! It was just perfect. We booked kind-of last minute and weren't sure what to expect, but it was exactly what we were looking for. It was cozy and clean, but not fancy (which is perfect for us!). It felt far enough away from town, but town was also easily accessible. There were beautiful trees right outside the giant window in the living area and outside one of the bedrooms. We went right outside the unit to play in the snow. Wendy was a pleasure to work with and was easily accessible when we had questions over our 3 night stay. I highly recommend this place!

Great place, wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were in the area for a niece's wedding and decided to stay at this condo. We brought our 2 kids and a niece. The condo was perfect for the 5 of us. The condo is very well maintained, as well as very comfortable, cozy and very quiet! It is very close to Donner Lake which made for conveniente and fun for us since we got there 2 days before the wedding.

The condo has just about everything we've needed. We definitely recommend it to others!

We're planning on coming back for our next family vacation.

Working with Wendy was a pleasure!

Thank you very much, Wendy!

Owner's Response: Marissa, Thank you! We're so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. We try to enable guests to have a "home from home" experience. Lake Tahoe is awesome but Donner Lake is pretty amazing as well. It's like Tahoe's little sister! We love the private Tahoe Donner beach and enjoy taking our kayaks out from there. We'd love to have you visit again. There's so much to see and do around the whole Tahoe area. Its beauty never ceases to amaze us.
