About Debbie Neev

My husband, Joe, and I have lived in Laguna Beach with our twin sons, Matt and Zach and our little silky terrier, Willy, for over 25 years. The boys are now in graduate school and Willy and I walk the beaches daily. Although I grew up in the south and sometimes miss the changing seasons, the Laguna charm is addicting.

Debbie Neev purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Debbie Neev chose Laguna Beach

Twin Points Cottage brings one back to the quieter times of early Laguna Beach when there were only cottages dotting the landscape and the simple joys of a walk on the beach, a sunset, and a cool drink and simple meal at the end of the day defined 'perfect.' When you sit outside and the wisteria is in bloom and the butterflies and hummingbirds keep you company, you will fall in love with Twin Points Cottage just as we did...

What makes this cottage unique

These adorable cottages found throughout Laguna speak volumes about the early days of homesteading when the coast highway was incomplete and it took days to get here from Los Angeles. Private get-a-ways from the 'city' for movie stars, bootlegging, and plein air artists frequented our beaches then, so let your imagination take you away as it did for us...

Cute, immaculate, and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (kids 8 and 10) had a blissful Christmas vacation here. The cottage is spotlessly clean and the friendly owners have charmingly decorated it with vintage beach decor and thoughtfully stocked it with all the necessities, plus beach towels and toys. The location in quiet north Laguna is ideal if you're looking to ditch the car for your vacation: It's within easy walking distance to two wonderful beaches, the grocery store, a surf shop with rental gear, a yoga studio, and a few restaurants. There is also a short but spectacular hike just up the hill to Laguna Wilderness Park and a lookout which shows you all of the coastline at a glance. The kids also really enjoyed the cottage's Monopoly table and foosball set! Highly recommended....we'd come back in a heartbeat.

Nice location, but not very well taken care of

  • 1 of 5

The cottage was cute, but it really hadn't seen a good cleaning in a long time. There were dusty cobwebs in the lampshades. Once I found that cobweb I started looking around and discovered the place was full of dust and dirt. We started cleaning with the Swiffer and it got black with every swipe. The floor was dirty, the baseboards were covered with dust, along with just about everything else. Only the obvious surfaces had been dusted, like the table top and the counter.

We spent a good hour cleaning and never even scratched the surface. We finally gave up and left after one day of our week we paid for. There is only so much dust you can take.

The yard was poorly tended.

Unless these people get a professional cleaning service I wouldn't go there.

The location is about a mile north of the center of Laguna Beach. There is a grocery store about a 1/2 mile south that you can walk to. The beach is a block away.

The decor is cute, but the place is full of nick-nacks that gather dust and leave you no place to put your things.

Owner's Response: This is the first time I have had this kind of response and I am very sorry the cottage was dusty. I always use a professional cleaning service. The only thing I can think of is that the heater was turned on a few days prior for the first time this season and perhaps that generated the dust. Regarding the yard, we are in the middle of a very serious drought and currently have severe water restrictions, so please do not expect a green lawn.

Perfect for our family of 3

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect size for our family of 3. Debbie was able to provide a baby crib, high chair, and lots of beach toys for our little one too. Our son also enjoyed having the backyard space. The location was great…we could walk down the road to Crescent Bay beach or walk 15 minutes to downtown Laguna to enjoy the beach, restaurants, and the Saturday farmers market. Great home, great location!

Just right!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive yet comfortable place to stay in Laguna while we hiked and visited friends; this was just right. Debbie was very helpful, the location was great, the beds very comfortable, and the seating in the front yard just right to catch some sun between activities. The vintage decor was thoughtfully put-together and cheerful.
