Comfy and Convenient
My husband, baby, mom and I drove up from LA and stayed on a cold weekend in February. The house itself has a vintage John Steinbeck style. It has nice big bedrooms and is very conveniently located near the downtown area. My husband's family was having a big party 20 miles away, and because others were staying in Paso Robles hotels, it was convenient for family members to stop by "our" house to hang out. The beds were reasonably comfy and the wall furnace kept the house a nice temperature. There was a small selection of good board games and books available.
The sound of the toilet flushing and refilling in the master bedroom was very loud, so we used the guest bath when the baby was sleeping. The train is close by which is a bit noisy. There were a couple of spots that needed more thorough dusting. But all in all we enjoyed the house and would stay there again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide some feedback about our house. I am happy that you enjoyed some of my most favorite aspects of the house. I will touch base with my team about it needing a wee bit more dusting in places. Regarding the train...it's just part of the house being so centrally located in the downtown area. We have a reoccurring guest that absolutely loves to hear it go by. I hope it wasn't too much for you. :-) All the best. Looking to see you again in the near future.
Wonderful central location- lovely, relaxing well appointed home
Melissa was super communicative and friendly. The home is very sweet and has everything you need to put together a meal. It is decorated very beautifully. The price is very reasonable for a two bedroom two bath home. We had a wonderful stay.
I am glad you had such a wonderful stay at my property. It is very important to me to be available to and communicative with our guests.
Nice house...a few problems...
Overall, we were happy with our stay in Paso Robles. There were a few issues we had with the house which could have been avoided. Most of the lights in the master bedroom didn't work (or we couldn't figure them out). There were wet sheets left in the washing machine, which I had to move to the dryer where there was a load of towels. So, I ended up folding sheets and towels. The garbage cans remained on the street the entire time we were there and there was trash in garbage bags set along the backside of the house (inside the gate).
The furniture was comfortable and well appointed. The back yard was nice and large and we even had a mama deer and her twin babies come visit. The patio could have cleaned up a little better. Being so close to downtown and the plaza was wonderful...we were able to walk almost everywhere.
In conclusion, I feel for the money we paid, the house should have been in better condition. We love Paso and will return.
Apologies for the clean sheets being left in the dryer. That was definitely a house keeping oversight. We have since made some tweaks regarding outdoor upkeep that seems to have made folks happy. Thanks so much for your constructive input. It is always appreciated.
The house needs deep cleaning and updated inside and outside on the patio.
The house needs cleaning and updating inside and outside on the patio. We had many spiderwebs on the windows valences an outside patio area. There was hair in the tub and we even had to kill a few bugs that were in the living room on the ceiling and one crawled on my leg while watching TV. The house needs updating. location was nice. Trash outside was overflowing and the yard was full of weeds. Mattresses need updating and there was a large bump in the middle of the master bed. King size would be nice as well.
Hi there. Thanks so much for contacting us. We have increased the frequency of regularly scheduled spraying, etc so I'm sure that will help minimize nature wanting to come inside (spiders, etc). We have also made positive changes to our gardening crew and our house keeping crew.
We do clearly list 2 queen size beds. They are the right fit for the house.
Thank you for your constructive input. I appreciate your time and effort.
2 blocks from downtown. Clean and open floor plan. Perfect for a weekend away with friends.
Comfortable but house needs work
The house was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. 3 blocks from downtown Paso in a very walkable area.
The photos posted here are old, though, and the house is bit more worn than what you see here.
-The landscape bushes block the windows in the front of the house.
-The entryway is not welcoming and was dusty and cobwebs were very noticeable.
-The bathroom in the hallway is very small with barely a place to really place your items. The tub is very cramped as it has a cabinet built into the tub space...very odd (it is an older house, after all).
-The screens on the windows had spider webs and tears.
-There was no lightbulb outside by the back steps, which made it dangerous to step out at night.
-The lovely looking covered patio in the photos was dirty and there were cobwebs/spiderwebs everywhere.
Positives- great location. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping (walking distance). Nice large yard, has a large laundry room with washer and dryer. We had WiFi and cable, and a functional kitchen with all the utensils we needed.
With a little work and cleanup around the outside, could be a really cute little house.
There are so many things to do during your stay here. Paso Robles is Wine and Hearst Castle Country, Home of the California Mid State Fair and conveniently close to Vina Robles Amphitheater. (Only 6 miles away). And in the summer you and your family can enjoy the Ravine Water Park which is also only 6 miles away.
