About Rick Knight & Amy Cooper

Rick is dedicated to serving his Real Estate clients' needs while enjoying an active life biking, running, swimming and hiking in the beauty of Mt. Shasta. Amy is founding Director of the Shasta Yoga Institute and had been a major inspiration and provider of Yoga studies for the community, which involves a teacher training, retreats, specialty workshops and daily classes with a variety of teachers.

"We moved to Mount Shasta from the Bay Area in 2003 but bought this cabin in 1996 due to the fact that we loved coming up to visit for winter skiing and summer swimming... and had the vision that we wanted more..."

Rick and Amy spend their free time enjoying trail running, hiking, swimming, back country skiing, road and mountain biking the north country.

Rick Knight & Amy Cooper purchased this house in 1996

Why Rick Knight & Amy Cooper chose Shasta Cascade

It is secluded but close to all of the great things Mt Shasta has to offer. The large, old trees offer shade and privacy and a great feeling of the larger forest surrounds the area. It is well built and easy to heat but has a spacious loft feeling .

What makes this house unique

This place is beautiful and serene... It is in a natural setting, close to town but in the woods!

It's location offers great walking right out the door on a safe dead-end road with great neighbors, which is kid and dog friendly. Please feel free to ask Amy or Rick about the area as we have 30 plus years of visiting, vacationing, living and working and adventuring in the community.

Please feel free to call on us to help you plan your trip.

Great Mt. Shasta Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay very much. House was just as described and equipped well. Even though weather was warm, the air conditioner upstairs helped a lot. Would have preferred a more traditional TV set-up, but who really needs TV anyway? Would definitely stay in this cute little house again.

Peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

So relaxing was this home that we really wanted to stay longer because the location was quiet and beautiful, plus the owners are quick to help with any inquiries or problems that might arise during your stay. Morning coffee on this front porch was like heaven for me because of the scenery and calmness there. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat.

Great location and accommodations

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent almost two weeks at the property and really enjoyed the space, the location, and the amenities. We had a bit of a hick-up and Rick and Amy were right there to resolve the matter. They are a very caring couple who genuinely want your stay there to be exceptional and they delivered. You will not be disappointed.

A gem in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this cottage for about a month. It is extremely comfortable, with plenty of clean, well-cared for space, and in a very quiet part of town. Amy and Rick are exceptional hosts, and it is clear they take pride in their cottage and making their guests feel welcome. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone staying in Mount Shasta.

A lovely house, in a beautiful secluded neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for my wife, 7 year old daughter and I. Access was very easy to get to, but sill had a placement that left us feeling very secluded in the snowy woods. The house itself was very nice and clean and had nice futons that our Daughter loved sleeping on. The DVD player didn't work with the fancy large screen TV, but after futzing with it we let it go and just watched Netflix thru the Roku ... However don't tease us with that big basket of DVDs you left there!!! All in all an excellent retreat, we will stay here again.
