About Martin or Cindy Rowe
My family has owned this property since 1956 and My wife and I now own it. We are currently building a home on the property about 100 yards from the cottage.
Martin or Cindy Rowe purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Martin or Cindy Rowe chose Pleasant Township
If you're interested in a laid back vacation where you can relax and read a book, the kids can fish off the pier and you don't have to worry what your neighbors are doing 30 feet to each side of you. Then this is your site. The cottage is located on a 40 acre piece of land with 1800 feet of lakefront. Fox Lake is not a hotbed of activity like the larger lakes. To us this is a big plus. When you're boating you don't get the feeling you're involved in the Indy 500.

Quiet place on a quiet lake.
Perfect spot to Relax
My two children and I spent a long weekend here in the beginning of July, and we were quite impressed. The cottage was immaculate and comfortable. It is only a one bedroom cottage, but the futon in the dining room and the sleep sofa in the living room gave each of us our own bed. Linens and pillows were provided, as was everything one might want in the kitchen. The owner even let us use their row boat, as long as we provided our own life jackets. The activitiy at the lake was very subdued. Over the course of the entire Fourth of July long weekend, we only saw one water skier, and a couple of jet skis. Otherwise, all was serene. The owners are friendly and helpful, and available if you need them. I enjoyed our stay immensely and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to escape the rat race for a few days and enjoy lake life. I hope I have the opportunity to come back soon!
Came in May to visit family and friends. Got lucky and had beautiful weather! Caught enough fish for a family fish fry. Saw planting in progress and enjoyed fresh rhubarb and asparagus at Farmer's Market in Angola. House was spic and span as usual!
We had a very nice time. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we needed. This small lake was just the right size with no skiing outside of the hours of 1-4 pm, so there were quiet fisherman and friendly boaters. The property was grassy and had a mowed path with woodsy area. The property was as described, very clean and well maintained. The owners stopped by to see if everything was OK and then we have their phone number if we needed anything. I would recommend this house for people that want a nice quiet place to relax and enjoy nature. The small town nearby had all that we needed and the State Park was fun to visit too.
Clean, calm living
After a 4 day, 3 night stay we left feeling relaxed and ready to go back to the world.
Angola is a nice, small Midwestern town with a small division 3 university. They have a number of stores to purchase groceries and other necessities.
The cottage is a quaint, clean space. The view of the lake is great. The location provides a great breeze on a daily basis (while we were there). The lake is quiet and calm with little to no boat traffic. The cottage has all your basics covered (i.e. pots, pans, utensils, grill). You should be able to make a meal for 6 people with the utensils available.
The owners are great. During our stay I probably talked with the owners for a total of 90 minutes. I had to approach them to talk, but they were definitely not shy in talking. Their story is great and it is really refreshing to hear and meet people who are building their next home from scratch.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, calm lake property for a stay.
Cozy, Clean, Comfortable
We spent 10 relaxing days at the cottage and still did not want to go home. The cottage was immaculate and the bed comfortable (which isn't always the case in rentals) The kitchen has all the necessary equipment (including my coffee measuring spoon that I forgot to pack... whoops) Angola is a lovely university town with many antique shops yet still has a nice size shopping area on the outskirts. We enjoyed fishing and swimming in the lake. It is a clean, clear, very shallow lake, so one does not need to worry so much with little ones around the water. Flea markets, auctions, dinner theater, and car shows are all within a 30-45 min. drive. Remember to pack your lawn chairs because you'll want to spend time enjoying the view and watching the sunsets over the lake. Wish we were still there!
We are about an hour from downtown Ft. Wayne with big city attractions. 35 min. from Auburn, the home of the famous Auburn, Cord, & Duesenberg Museum, National Truck Museum and the WWII Military Museum. The Pokagon State Park is about 15 minutes away with hiking trails, cross country skiing, toboggan run and horseback riding.
