Great location for exploring the Giant forest

  • 4 of 5

This quaint cabin is perfectly located a minute outside the Ash Mountain entrance which is a good entry point for the Giant forest on the Sequoia side of the park. It is an older cabin that is nothing fancy but very comfortable for resting between visits into the park. There are restaurants nearby, and the owners provide helpful information before arrival about restaurants and points of interest in the park. If you're mostly providing your own meals as we did, I would suggest stopping at a larger grocery store before you get to Three Rivers because the prices at local markets were high, especially at Totem which is located directly across the street from the cabin. Also, be aware that the refrigerator is small--office size, the utensils were limited (i.e. 2 spoons, 2 knives) probably because people have lost things over time. We also had to buy toilet paper because the half a roll they provided did not last 4 nights.

Though the cabin is close to the road, we did not have a problem with traffic noise. The traffic seemed to slow down at sunset. The cabins are duplexes, but we heard absolutely no noise from our neighbors next door. There is a river behind the cabin that's accessible if you're willing to climb over a few rocks, which isn't hard to do.

When we arrived, at first I thought they had not cleaned the place, but I think it's just because it's an older structure so it's not perfect. It really is one of the closest private/secluded rentals closest to the park entrance. Most everything else around was motel style. I would definitely recommend this place to others. It's affordable, quiet, convenient and quaint.

Easy access to Sequoias; comfortable rooms; great air conditioner, designated parking

  • 4 of 5

We appreciated the easy access to the park and the cabin's location near the river. Comfortable rooms and great air conditioning. And the designated parking space was a plus. We could have used a bath mat and anti-slip strips in the shower area.

Great location; very clean and comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

This place is just about as close as you can get to Sequoia Park without actually being in it. Takes only about five minutes to get to the park entrance. They did a great job of cleaning, the place was spotless! The Wi-Fi and TV reception was great. When you come back from the park exhausted, it's nice that there is a restaurant/bar right across the street that you can walk to. Only reason I gave a 4-star instead of a 5-star was that the bed was about a 6/10 on the comfort scale. Would definitely stay here again!

Small but adequate

  • 3 of 5

This unit is very small, but quite adequate for 2 people. It is close to Sequoia National Park and easy to find. We enjoyed having TV in the evenings. Coffee is provided, but not tea bring your own.
