About Paul & Celeste Graebner

Paul & Celeste met while attending college at Cal Poly State University. After graduating, and enchanted by the central coast’s laidback lifestyle, they decided to call Paso Robles home. Both coming from small towns, it was easy to feel right at home in Paso. Originally from the Gold Country of California, Paul left the foothills after graduating high school and attended a junior college in the Bay Area to play basketball. Two years later he moved to attend Cal Poly and graduated with a degree in construction management. He now works as a project manager for a national builder. Celeste’s background started in agriculture on her family’s 40 acre vineyard in the Central Valley. After high school, she came straight to Cal Poly where she majored in business and accounting. A good portion of her family call this area home as well, all deeply entrenched in the wine industry anywhere from providing new vine stock for local wineries to managing vineyards. Celeste now works as a controller for a local winery.

Paul & Celeste Graebner purchased this house in 2004

Why Paul & Celeste Graebner chose Paso Robles

The location of this property is hard to beat. Even though Peaceful in Paso is just four blocks west of down town, there is a unique transition between city life and nature that gives the property a country feel that is serene and refreshing. A variety of wildlife calls the neighborhood home as well, the most common being the California Mule Deer. It is very common to see small herds of these quiet creatures with their young foraging for food around the neighborhood. Peaceful in Paso is like having the convenience of the city at your front door and the peacefulness of nature at your back door.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful in Paso has a unique history originally being built at the turn of the 20th century on the east side of Paso Robles. Sometime in the 1970’s the house was cut in half with a chainsaw and trucked across the 13th Street Bridge in two pieces to its current location on Fresno Street. Even though the house has been fully updated, it still retains much of the old fashion charm that comes with its age. One of its most noticeable features is the original oak hardwood floors that span throughout the house and give a warm, inviting feel. Another unique benefit to this property is that guests will be within walking distance from the historic downtown Paso Robles city park. Browse the park center with plenty of boutique shopping, excellent restaurants and plenty of home town activities. The Paso Robles Main Street Association does an excellent job of making sure there is plenty to do for our guests. Check out their website for a schedule of events at

Over 200 wineries call Paso Robles home making wine tasting one of the most popular attractions to the area.

Aside from wine, Paso Robles also has become home for a number of breweries as well. Take a tour of the popular Firestone Walker Brewing Company and learn how their famous DBA (Double Barrel Ale) is made or walk next door to the Taproom Restaurant and experience their full lineup.

The newly built Vina Robles Amphitheatre has quickly become a prime attraction to the area bringing in big name musical acts that previously could only be seen in larger metropolitan areas.

The California Mid-State Fair that occurs between the last week in July and first week in August provides a small county fair feel with big time fun. Concerts, equestrian shows, livestock shows, a rodeo and monster truck rally, rides, games, delicious food and drink are all reasons to come visit at that time.

Located just 45 minutes away in San Simeon is the famous Hearst Castle. Take a short tram ride up to the top of the Hearst Family Estate and experience the 20’s and 30’s through the eyes of William Randolph Hearst.

After taking a tour and seeing the spectacular sights of the Hearst families home away from home, drive 5 more minutes north up highway 1 and experience a small stretch of beach that is home to 17,000 Northern Elephant Seals. This is a spectacle of nature that can’t be missed.

For those of you with children visiting in the summer months, cool them off from those California temperatures by spending a day at The Ravine waterpark. With waterslides, a wave pool, a kiddie pool and lazy river, there is something for everyone at The Ravine. It is only open during the warm months of the year.

If shopping is more of your thing, San Luis Obispo is the place for you. Just a short 25 minute drive south will put you in what Oprah Winfrey has coined “the happiest city in America.” Stroll up and down Higuera Street perusing the shops and find out what the hype is all about.

Gorgeous and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a girl's weekend getaway. The house was very clean and cozy, well equipped, spacious for us to all spread out and have space. Not too far from the wineries or downtown. We will definitely be back and stay here again!!! Also look into the Wine Line - they were a wonderful service.

Beautiful Paso Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this sweet house in Paso - it was a great base from which to explore the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the hosts have thought of everything, including a binder full of restaurant menus! We especially appreciated their flexibility when we accidentally booked the wrong weekend!

Great central location; Clean and Truly Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Great for our needs. Central location. Two couples and one other adult. Very peaceful neighborhood but blocks from downtown. Private back patio, and nice side patio for outdoor dining. Lots of room to spread out. Well stocked linens and housewares. Very comfortable for a multi-night stay. Owners were great at communicating and accommodated our arrival time.

Great home in Paso!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for a girl's weekend in Paso. What a wonderful, charming home. We enjoyed mornings out on the front porch, drinking coffee and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

The home is a bit further than 4 blocks from downtown, so be aware, especially if you want to walk into town with heels. We opted for an Uber, which cost us all of $5.

This was a great place to stay and we will definitely return on our next trip to Paso!
