We enjoyed staying in Azalea Cottage during Thanksgiving break. I loved the living room and the seperate sitting area, we had early Christmas and the second room was perfect for our Christmas tree and gift opening! The cottage was very clean and comfortable for 3 adults and 2 kids.
Awesome! So cute and quaint!
Clean, Comfortable, Convenient
The Azalea cottage was so convenient to the swamp where we had a beautiful day to paddle. The house had plenty of room and the kitchen had everything we needed plus more. Enjoyed using the waffle iron and the indoor outdoor grill. Enjoyed walking around town and meeting people in Folkston. Most of all it was nice to be warm and see the sun. Thanks Lucy.
Great house and location!
Great location! Close to trains and Okefenokee! The house was super comfortable and had everything we needed!
A perfect stay!
The cottage is charming, and its surrounding azaleas are divine. Only two blocks from the train tracks which didn't bother us at all, and provided our first opportunity to train watch. So close to Okefenokee Swamp, our main destination and an easy drive to St. Marys which we also enjoyed. Just delightful, and thank you.
A GREAT THANKSGIVING
The house was much bigger than we expected. Enjoyed family time and was able to visit the Okefenokee Swamp Park in Waycross. Loved the train watching platform and pray that everyone found something in the folder to keep. Cooked a full Thanksgiving Dinner and didn't turn on the TV at all. Recommend...Folkston is a beautiful, peaceful town. The people were great. Loved the birds outside. God Bless- Have a wonderful Christmas.
Relax on the front porch swing and catch a glimpse of the many trains that pass through Folkston each day. Visit the Train Museum in the old restored depot in downtown Folkston. Walk around town for an ice cream cone or soup and sandwich at Whistlin' Dixie's and join the ever present group of train watchers at the Funnel. Take a short ride to the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge for a guided tour of the pristine wilderness or rent a boat for a closer look at the alligators in the cypress swamp. Take a day trip to historic St. Marys where ferries daily cruise the open waters of the St. Marys River forty-five minutes to Cumberland Island where you will see wild horses, deer and turkeys on your walk across the island to the Atlantic Ocean beach. Take other day trips to St. Simons, Jekyll, or Amelia Island. At the end of the day enjoy a fine dinner at the Okefenokee Restaurant in Folkston or Lang's seafood in St. Marys.
