Bob & Ginger Sykes are refugees (retirees) from 30 years in corporate life. They bought this 60 acre former rural amusement park and decided to create a farm like the one owned by Bob's great uncle in Indiana. With no previous farm experience they have learned much by way of the trial & error method. We decided to give others, particularly children, the opportunity to have the same experiences Bob had as a kid visiting his great uncle's farm.
Bob & Ginger Sykes purchased this house in 2005
As a former rural amusement park, horse boarding and bull riding facility there were some unique amenities in place and we could quickly share our farm journey with others.
Thank you Bob and Ginger,
We had a great way to start the New Year, it was such an incredible experience to meet you and the work that you do at the farm. Our girls were amazed feeding the animals and we enjoy so much just listening Bob explaining every single animal that you have.
We wish you all the best in your life, and sure we will come back.
Thank you for your hospitality and make us feel like we were home.
I spent Christmas there with my son and daughter. The house is so charming and Bob and Ginger were wonderful. This will be a fond Christmas memory for my family. We loved it!
This was my first experience using this site and staying in someone else's home. This place was beautiful, clean and peaceful. My son got married at Cedar Grove Acres. My sister and I stayed at this house. We were only ten minutes away from the wedding venue. I was in charge of my grandson Thomas, so he stayed with us too.
Bob and Ginger were the perfect host and hostess. They gave Thomas a tour of the farm and allowed him to help with the chores. He loved it. It amazed me that these two people keep the 60 acre farm running like a top. This is a very very clean farm!!
Bob and Ginger were so thoughtful and had everything you would need in their guest house. If needed I will definitely stay with Bob and Ginger again. The only improvement I saw that was needed is the internet connection was spotty. But is definitely a great place to be unplugged.
We had a wonderful time on the farm. Bob & Ginger went above and beyond to welcome us. It definitely was an experience my girls will not forget. If you are contemplating don't hesitate it's so worth it!!!
The farm is just as it is described in the listing. It is beautiful, and is a true working farm with many animals. Our hosts, Bob and Ginger were lovely and welcoming. The Guest House is large, with three full bedrooms and two and one-half baths. The kitchen is large and there are three wonderful decks with great views all around the house. We would definitely return and would definitely recommend this property and its hosts.
