This immaculate, fully renovated (3) bedroom, 2 bath waterfront family home with heated saltwater pool (3rd bedroom doubles as a den with a sleeper sofa for the bed) has its own dock and 10,000 lb. boatlift. Fresh water and electricity is available at the boatlift. The back yard is fenced. Our minpin puppies play back there often.

The screen-enclosed heated saltwater pool has a misting system that lowers the temp at the sunbathing end of the pool in Summer, and a pool heater that warms the water to your chosen temp in the Winter. Manatee and Dolphin come up to the dock and there are large Sailfin Catfish, Sheepshead fish and Red Snapper to be caught right from the dock or boatlift. You can also catch freshwater bass and trap blue crabs off the dock. Feel free to use our 4 fishing kayaks (the 4th one is not pictured) with rod holders, paddles and PFDs, our two Sun Bicycles to ride to the mall or state park preserve, our 2 SUP paddle boards, and our 4 person canoe to get you to 3 sister's springs. Boat rentals are available at nearby Plantation Inn.

The back and side yards are large and filled with mature oak and palm trees. The back yard is fenced and there is a doggie door so your pup can come and go freely between the house/pool and yard. There is a finished-in garage with easy inside access to the washer and dryer. There is room in the driveway for two vehicles or a boat trailer or RV. There is a large storage shed in the backyard to store water toys and fishing equipment.

This dog-friendly waterfront home is located on a family-friendly cul-de-sac street in the coveted north end of Crystal River near the mall, restaurants and the downtown area. It is 5 min. from Crystal River Watersports where you can launch your boat for $10, and buy bait and fishing equipment. When not rented, the home is used by our family for personal vacations. Both of our rental homes are equipped with Pack and Play's for out guests with infants.

The home is furnished with good quality furniture, two sleeper sofas and loveseat, newer appliances, bedding, linens, bathrobes, towels, dishes, toaster oven, griddle and more accessories. The kitchen is stocked with the cookware needed to prepare family meals. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed and its own bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has 2 comfortable full size beds. The third bedroom doubles as a den with a sleeper sofa for the bed. There is also another full bathroom located in the hallway. The flooring in the sunroom and throughout the entryways to the home is large ceramic tiles making clean-up easy and fast. There are three new flat-screen TVs; a 48 in. in the livingroom, a 40” in the den and a 32” in the master bedroom. Wi-Fi and basic cable TV are included.

This family-friendly home is located on a deep canal with Gulf access. The sunroom features seating to enjoy the pool, canal and wildlife. The pool lanai is screened with a special fine mesh to help keep even the smallest bugs out. The home is approximately 5-10 minutes drive from King’s Bay (& 3 sisters springs) and 35-40 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico by boat. Fort Island Beach is nearby. A large public pool with a skate park is nearby (behind the airport).

Beautiful and peaceful Crystal River has activities for the whole family and offers one of the few remaining areas to scallop in Florida during the summer. With all of the spring fed rivers and miles of mangroves Crystal River has the best Scalloping grounds in the US. Some of the best scalloping action is usually in 4-6 ft of water around Gomez Rocks at Latitude 2829.8, Longitude 8243.7. Offshore, there is shallow and deep water fishing.

The nearby mall has a multiplex movie theater, restaurants and shopping in historic downtown Crystal River. The house is only a short walk or bicycle ride from the Crystal River State Park Reserve and the Mullet Hole fishing spot. There are nine beautiful state parks nearby or play golf at one of the many nearby golf courses. Your family will make wonderful vacation memories here.

You can rent at a very affordable rate by the week.

About Chuck Wade

The Wade family lives in Marietta, GA. about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. We vacationed in Crystal River rental homes for years before finally buying a vacation home here. We wanted a home in the family-friendly north end of Crystal River and our house is perfectly situated for what we were looking for. We considered Panama City Beach as a vacation home location and vacationed there often while making the decision between CR and PCB. We decided we like the nature coast best because there are no high-rise condos here in one of the last remaining natural areas of Florida, but Crystal River still offers all the modern conveniences of shopping, restaurants, supermarkets, movie theaters, a mall, quaint shops in the historic district, and more. It has everything we were looking for in a family friendly neighborhood.

Chuck Wade purchased this house in 2014

Why Chuck Wade chose Crystal River

We chose Crystal River because it is so much more quiet and peaceful than other places we vacationed. We also enjoy watching the manatees and other wildlife from our sunroom and pool area. Our dream was to watch the manatee while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. We also love the fishing and boating in the area, and being certified scuba divers our entire family likes diving and snorkeling the natural springs in and around the area.

What makes this house unique

After staying at dozens of different vacation rental homes we stopped and made a list of all the things we liked, and didn’t like. We picked this house with all of that in mind. We furnished the house with brand new furniture; all very good quality beds, mattresses, sheets and comforters. But the home is not cluttered like so many of the rental homes we stayed in. The kitchen is equipped with all the items you would find in your own kitchen, including quality knives, flatware, appliances, plates, wine glasses, napkins, towels, pots and pans, soap, detergent, and spices — everything you would need. There is a washer and dryer, iron, an ironing board, and bathroom supplies if you forget something. We want your family to enjoy yourselves and come back for many years. You can reach us at (404) 374-8523 to book one of the best vacations your family will ever have.

Great getaway in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house. It had everything you could need. There were pamphlets and books with ideas of things to do. My suggestion for guests is bring Avon skin so soft and wear it to keep the noseeums away. We paddled in to a swarm when watching manatee on a breezless afternoon and were itchy for days afterwards. I wish we would have worn the skin so soft, but that was my mistake. We only ran into them once when there was no breeze, but that was once to many. The kids had fun in the pool which is screened and heated in Dec/Jan when we were there. We had a great time kayaking around the canals. Three Sister Springs is a far paddle (1.5 hrs), but you can put in at Kingsbay with kayaks and it is a few minutes away. We met Chuck out on the canal when we were paddling around. He was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We rode the bikes along trails which were beautiful. It was so great all the equipment was already there. It made everything easy. It was a relaxing, fun trip. We would definitely stay here again.

Book this place! One of our best rental experiences ever...

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over Christmas and had such a memorable holiday. The house was comfortable and homey, and stocked with kitchen and bath items, which was great for cooking or if you forgot any toiletries. The beds were super comfortable too. I loved the manatee decorations and albums; you can tell how much the owners love the local flora and fauna. We really enjoyed the pool and the use of the SUP boards, kayaks, and bikes. It was awesome to paddle around the canals and into the state park. Our daughter locked us out by mistake on Christmas Day, and I could not ask for nicer neighbors, who called Chuck for us (and gave me a glass of wine!), or a nicer owner. He came over as soon as he got the message, unlocked the house, and saved our holiday. Chuck was wonderful to deal with from beginning to end. I can't recommend his house highly enough and I hope we get to go back someday!

Very clean and neat. Everything was modern and easily accessible.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home and would definitely go back. A great location close to everything in Crystal River. Had daily visits from a couple of manatees! The kayaks and SUP's were a great bonus. I would recommend this property to anyone. The only drawback for us is that we could only stay 4 days!

You can stop looking and Book!

First off, Chuck was great in texting us to let us know the rental was ready and we could get in early. Great news for us, as we were already in town with boat in tow trying to find things to do. Upon arrival we had a slight hiccup with the rental and I contacted Chuck. Chuck not only immediately responded, but handled the situation better than any owner I have dealt with. His communication throughout our stay, and after was not only refreshing, but genuine. He cares that you have a great time in his home and it shows.

The property is on a canal in a well-established neighborhood. We felt safe and relaxed. We loved being a walk away from the state park and explored the area in depth while walking our dog. This is north of the somewhat bustle of Crystal River, yet only a few miles to anything you would need. Having use of the kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes go above and beyond any other rental, except maybe one of Chucks other places! The home is as pictured except the couch is now leather. The bathrooms are a little snug but sufficient. The master king was comfortable, but the pillows could use some refreshing. The dog door was a nice surprise and my boy took to it easily. Thank you for allowing dogs! Fenced yard was a plus. The kitchen was well stocked, the w/d looked almost new. The other niceties were the labeling of things so you aren't trying to figure out what switch does what. There are limited supplies of items like plastic bags and paper products. I really appreciated the shampoo and body wash especially after I realized I forget to pack mine! Probably one of the most detailed welcome packages I have ever seen on the coffee table. This is not what most would call a luxury home, but it was for us. My only other minor suggestion would be a nightstand on the other side of the master bed. We have already recommended this rental and will definitely look nowhere else (except one of Chucks places) when we are in the area again. You can trust that you will have a great time here.

A really lovely place to stay with friends

  • 5 of 5

Overall impression was great. House was as described, lovely and clean with all the amenities described. It was well maintained. Right on the canal, down the road form the nature reserve.

The kitchen was fully stocked, with all the pots and pans you need to cook a full meal.

Chuck was very attentive, able to contact him quickly and he allowed us to get into the house 4 hours early.

I would certainly book it again and recommend it to friends.

GREAT PLACE

  • 5 of 5

We were quite impressed with this rental and would recommend it to all. Everything was here to set up housekeeping and more. The attention to detail was quite impressive. We've never stayed in a rental (including our time share) that had so many things furnished. Our main attraction was the salt water pool. My son, wife and grandson were down in the lower 48 for a visit from Fairbanks and they loved it. We used the pool a lot! The grandson just turned 3 so really that's all we needed. A dolphin visited one morning also. All in all it's a great place for a nice family visit, and I highly recommend!

Notes:
The Crystal River Preserve is within walking distance of the home. We like walking or riding the bikes to the Mullet Hole there with our rods & reels and fishing for Mullet and other fish. We have seen foxes and wild boar while out on our walks and bike rides. You can also bike from the house to the preserve and ride on the trails, or hike through 7 miles of scenic trails. There is also a kayak launch area in the Preserve and in the other direction at Crystal River Watersports. Please use caution when entering/exiting kayaks or paddleboards onto the dock.
