What makes this chateau / country house unique

This is Troll Haven; pedagogy of dreams and magic. A refuge from the mundane, a place to dream and imagine, and, most importantly, a place to bring a smile. We have beautiful homes for rent, fruit to eat, art for amusement and inspiration, animals to gaze upon, and landscaping to match the most impeccable gardens of the world.

Our philosophy for Troll Haven, is not a single idea, but many ideas and attitudes about life. We must have a reverence for nature and a deep love of the country life. Self-reliance and creative leisure is placed in the forefront. A place of abundant beauty with edible, healthy, organic fruit, nuts and berries for humans as well as the birds and beasts of nature. Troll haven strives to be a simple place. A place of nostalgia that brings smiles of delight to young and old alike.

Our mission statement is simple: Goodness harbor from all elements of this dominion and hath qualities the same for all mankind.

Troll Haven is magical, mystical sanctuary that has been created for our families, friends and especially for our children. This privately owned estate occupies 150 acres along Discovery Bay in Gardiner, Washington between Sequim and Port Townsend. Many of the homes are rental properties while other buildings/areas serve as event sites for extraordinary weddings, gatherings, parties, reunions, business retreats…

Although Troll Haven is strictly private property, we offer scheduled garden and farm tours to select groups. We invite you to view the art, absorb the serenity and depart with a smile while respecting the privacy of the various tenants whom occupy these grounds. We hope Troll Haven sparks a bit of magic and inspires your creativity the way it does for us.

Super cute! Great place to unwind and watch the eagles with your cup of coffee in the mornings. Location worked out great for us and the new spot for fresh seafood a mile away was a bonus for sure.

Relaxing time in Sequim

  • 4 of 5

The home was delightful, clean, and set amongst a working farm with exceptional views of Discovery Bay. You could enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, with cows mooing behind you, and bald eagles chirping in the trees along the bluffs. The home had a wonderful wood stove, and they kept a great supply of wood available. Beds were quite firm, which could be difficult for some, a great assortment of pillows, though I’d love to see a couple porch chairs to enjoy that part more. Unfortunately we found the smoke alarms without working batteries, most would overlook such things, but my fire marshal husband always checks. Friendly folks, great house, easy to access. We were happy we found it.

Beautiful property and views

  • 5 of 5

Adorable little cabin, well stocked kitchen, very clean. The property itself is impressive in the way it is taken care of and all the things to look at (hidden statues and decorative items). We will be going back and back and back...

Fantastiv Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This place delivered everything it promised and more!! The scenery and water views were amazing! We loved all the quirky artwork throughout the property and the dragon gates were fabulous - felt like a magical fairy wonderland (for trolls and humans). The house was warm and comforting with plenty of space for all of us, very clean and cozy - loved all the maritime and duck themes throughout. Loved the horses and donkeys, along with the numerous farm animals throughout the property. Everything was thought of for our enjoyment, loved grilling out under the pavilion that had tables and benches galore (much more than a gazebo, it was huge), gazing at the star lit water along with having a fire later in evening to hang out by. We will definitely be back!! Only suggestion for future would be to have a broom available to sweep the wood floors, everything else was thought of.

Beautiful Charming Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing! Some friends and I stayed for my birthday over a long weekend. It is a very scenic location. You are first greeted by a dragon gate, where you need a key to let you in. Not too far down the road you will see this lovely place. As we unloaded the car, we were greeted by some friendly horses and a donkey. People come by every day to feed them so don't worry if an unexpected car shows up. The property is quite large, but the house only has two bedrooms. We journeyed down to the private beach one day, which was also beautiful, there are directions to it inside the house, it's quite close to the house. The owner was super chill and responded back almost immediately to all my questions. This house is great for outdoor activities and the wood burning stove inside is great! I just wish the check in time was earlier in the day. Overall, a great stay!
