Cirella village is situated on Tirrenian sea-coast between Praia a Mare and Diamante in Calabria region.
Cirella has been a dukedom in ancient ages. There are 1753 a Duc’s Palais and some ancient ruins of medieval Cirella with a castle which are on a little hill. In the little village there are shops and stores as fishermen’s, butcher's and so on. There is also, very near home, a club for renting surfing-board, little boats, and a tennis-court at 200 metres on foot. The beach, at 300 metres from home, is or a little rocky, or sandy or with littles stones. You can walk, not so far, until Diamante and its "murales"'; to S.Domenica Talao, a typical medieval village, with local craftmanship: iron, reed, willow, bamboo cane; or to Scalea with visit to the ancient tower and shopping; to Maratea and S.ta Venere coast line excursions or to Palinuro, Praia a Mare with Dinos island. You can also go a long way, one hour and half, until mountains and lakes to an important centre of the Sila, Lorica, with craft exhibition of carpets and table cloths, chairlift to Monte Curcio; or to Crotone with its roman temple; or to a museum of Reggio Calabria where are two important roman statues: Bronzi di Riace; to Padula with its Certosa and the caves of Pertosa in Basilicata region on the border with Calabria.
At last, surrounded by the most exciting night views, you can spend an evening full of music, folklore, relax dancing at "Clubino", in S.Nicola Arcella. You can rent a car a Scalea, a town at 10 Km. at north.
