Couldn't have asked for a better place to use as home base for my sons wedding!
House is beautiful! Plenty of room for the 6 of us and then some! My son and his groomsmen got dressed here before the wedding and the garden and waterfall out back was the perfect backdrop for pictures. We had plenty of time to enjoy the inside and outside. Final night was roaring bonfire and smores! Thank you Jeff for letting us stay in this treasure. Hopefully we will be back and will highly recommend to friends.
Very nice and quiet property - near New Buffalo / Notre Dame
We really enjoyed our stay at this property, which we utilized for a long ND football weekend. The house was setup nicely with 3 bedrooms on the main area and a lofted / upstairs master suite. The kitchen area was on a separate level which was nice functionally - and while we did not use the basement much, it is set up with a TV, refrigerator / freezer, etc.
The outdoor area was very nice - beautiful patio / pergola with a nice water feature and deep back yard - had we brought our kids they would have loved the space to play and run around. As it stood, we enjoyed the adults only trip and privacy and quiet the yard allowed.
The only (slight) recommendation we would have is to check on the heating and cooling settings of the property, particularly upstairs - the main AC seemed to work well, and there is an upstairs window unit, but the house got very very hot upstairs despite being on a fair low temp setting.
Beyond that, a wonderful property and one we would enjoy staying at again.
Weekend Nature Retreat
My friends and I arrived Friday afternoon and were very happy to discover a modern yet comfortable weekend rental home. We LOVED the spacious back yard which afforded us hours of lively conversation and a new appreciation of nature.
We just had the most wonderful trip to Michigan with family. Enjoyed our stay in Three Oaks.
The house was perfect for us. Sometimes a little small for 9 adults but we made it work. We cooked most meals and ate outside on the wonderfully lit patio. The fire pit was great for our late nights. Huge yard for games. Not far for trip to Warren Dunes beach. Jeff was always available to answer questions. Overall great experience and highly recommend.
Great place for short or long visit, and lots of room for everyone!
A total of 3 adults and 2 teens stayed in this home, and we had more than enough space to spread out and relax. It's located on a quiet street that has a cornfield beyond the backyard, and it is close enough to be able to go to local beaches without much time or traffic. The home is huge, and offers lots of room to either come together as a group or be alone. The eat in kitchen is modern & well stocked with anything you might need for cooking & has a table that seats 6; the bedrooms are spacious with generous amounts of storage & nice bedding; basement area offers a sectional couch & flat screen TV, an office/desk sitting nook, a bar type table where you can play games or eat, and a half bathroom, while a main floor sitting area has comfy couches & arm chairs for conversation.
If you want to spend time outdoors, there's plenty of beautiful ways to do that. A pergola covered deck with a table large enough to seat 12 is a welcoming place to eat a meal, and the twinkling white lights create a nice nighttime ambiance. There's also a sitting area with padded outdoor furniture and views of a pretty running waterfall pond. If it's chilly there is a wood burning fire pit to gather around, and plenty of wood was available. If you are in the mood to grill, there is a propane grill available (although we did not use it as the previous vacationers left it dirty). At night the deck, pergola, and pond were well lit with outdoor landscape lighting (just be careful as some of the pavers are uneven & could be tricky if you aren't paying attention where you are walking).
The house is designed to provide a relaxing atmosphere. If you have someone with mobility issues, you need to be aware there are a lot of stairs/levels to this home, so it could be difficult, especially getting to the upstairs master suite, which has a steep, circular stairway to navigate. You enter the main floor of the home after climbing steps on the outside porch, and there are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom on that level, but you need to go down stairs to get to the kitchen/exit to outdoor area, and then more steps should you want to get to basement area. Just something to keep in mind.
We had no issues with our stay, and would recommend this as a great place to visit.
Very cute house, with lots of space and plenty of materials provided to have a fire, or cook! But the carpet and food floors looked as if they had not been cleaned/swept/vacuumed in a LONG time. There was fur, crumbs, and gravel all over the floor and carpet. If you stay at this house, bring flip flops or slippers to walk around unless you want crumbs and dirt to be stuck between your toes, or you black feet.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We appreciate hearing you enjoyed the house and all the amenities that we have to offer. We also take great pride in ensuring our guests have an exceptional experience, and have shared your comments with our cleaning service to ensure we provide a clean and inviting space for our guests in the future.
