About Katy Tufts

My husband and I love Tahoe, there has been a home in my family since 1947. I have spent every summer here growing up. We have an adult daughter currently in Grad school. We love to travel and the outdoors.

Katy Tufts purchased this house in 1998

Why Katy Tufts chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

This home is built by the same builder that built my family house. It's so close to ever thing and TART is just a 1 minute walk if you don't want to drive. I love to have the lake so close.

What makes this house unique

This place just fits the Tahoe lifestyle. It's comfortable, homey and casual. The perfect getaway. So much to do within walking distance. There is public transportation a 2 minute walk away.

Comfort, location, charm, reasonable cost and a wonderful host - what more could you ask for ?!?

  • 5 of 5

This cottage perfectly fit our needs and far exceeded our expectations. And, as a bonus, we were able to bring our canine family member! The home was an ideal fit for our seven adults group. The location was prime for access to Squaw and Alpine (Northstar was also very close by). Katy couldn't have been a more gracious hostess. And beach access was a 1/4 mile away - perfect for taking our dog for a walk. I highly recommend this charming home for your vacation or long weekend.

Owner's Response: Jeff thank you for the fantastic review! I enjoyed having all of you as our guests. I really try to get to know my guests so I accommodate the needs. It's great that you walked to the beach with your dog Lily and the weather was good. I'm happy that we had great snow for your crew to go skiing and the close proximity to all three resorts gave a variety of places to ski. We try to keep the cost at an affordable rate so that you can enjoy your vacation. I'm so glad that you had a great at time and you are welcome to stay time. Katy

Wonderful property located close to everything great about N. Lake Tahoe. Super clean, loved the nicely equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Owner is awesome, responsive, and friendly.

wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

I came here with 5 other girlfriends for a weekend getaway and the moment we arrived we felt like we were in a cozy home. The kitchen is adorable and filled with appliances, the wood burning fire kept us very warm (though a little smoky when first trying to light it, once lit was perfect). We went skiing one day and the house was a close drive to Northstar. Its just across the street from beautiful lake tahoe which we could walk to. Katy responded quickly to our question about the smoky fire. Very reasonable price and cozy home, I would highly recommend this for someone wanting a comfortable place close to things around tahoe.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I'm so glad you were able to take advantage of the central location to enjoy your skiing. I was happy to help you out taming the woodstove smoke, occasionally that happens when it's windy. You are welcome to stay at our home anytime let us know!

Nice place for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

Cozy home with a lot of small appliances. We felt that the owner did pay attention to the details and really wanted us to feel comfortable.

We really liked that there was everything we needed for BBQ; there was a lot of tableware, cookware, etc; very nice and clean oven; hot water which was really hot and heated quickly.

The cabin has just enough place for 6 adults and we didn't have any problems parking 3 cars in front of the house.

The cabin is located just 5 minutes walking from the beach and some nice restaurants.

During the coldest night of our stay we missed a little an extra heater but besides that everything is exactly like described and I believe overall it's a great value for the money.
