Welcoming, homey, and kid friendly.
We went for a two night stay for a fall get away and it was perfect. You can walk right out from the cabin and up into the woods. We had our two kids add the cabin had some nice extra touches for them. House was well stocked. We would happily come back.
The cabin was the perfect getaway for our group of 6 plus a baby!
We had an incredible time near Stanley at bluebird cabin. The hiking options nearby are breathtaking. The weather in September was perfect, and we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back.
Very relaxing, just right for four of us and our dog.
We wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin had everything we needed. We were so happy to find a cabin that would allow our dog to stay with us. The beds were very comfy. The kitchen was well stocked. We brought out laptop and a couple dvds, so we watched some movies and used the WiFi provided by the cabin to view a movie using our Netflix account. During the day we enjoyed the great outdoors. The mountains are amazing.
Wonderful place to stay, can't wait to come back and enjoy again!
What a lovely place to stay. Jim provided us with great directions. The cabin was all that we had expected and more. It was clean, comfortable, welcoming. Great attention to detail, everything you could possibly think of - first aid kit to a vegetable peeler - all in place. Welcoming touches! We are so excited to come back here again next year. Book early for your favorite holidays! Nearby hiking, the sound of the creek behind the property, the convenience of being close to Stanley, not having to lug up anything else but your clothes and fishing pole! Thank you Jim - we so needed a relaxing long weekend, and this was just the right medicine!
A great time was had by all!!!
We really enjoyed the cabin! It was comfortable, the location was great and it was well stocked with everything we needed. Jackie even mentioned there was a big selection of seasonings for cooking and even flour! We especially enjoyed the cookies that Jim made and were waiting on the table when we arrived. We made a fire every morning. It was below 30 degrees one morning and that fire really felt good! Overall an awesome place to stay and we would highly recommend it!. And Jackie would still like to get your cookie recipe Jim!
Ideal Home-Base for a Stanley/Sawtooths Vacation
This rustic cabin tucked away in the forest outside of Stanley, ID is the perfect place to call home while visiting the Sawtooths. We spent a week at the Bluebird Cabin and wish we could have stayed longer. Our host, Jim, was incredibly kind and generous, providing us with great hiking recommendations and allowing us access to the creek that runs behind his house (he also lent our two small children beach toys to bring to the creek and lakes in the area). The cabin itself contains all the comforts of home, and Jim provides a wide variety of games and books for entertainment. The kitchen is quite functional, and we easily cooked the bulk of our meals at the cabin. The cabin also contains a great deal of information on the area, including multiple maps and hiking books. Whether sitting on the porch swing watching the bluebirds or going on a day hike straight from the cabin, one is hard-pressed to come up with a better place to stay. I know we'll be heading back to the Bluebird Cabin the next time we're in Stanley.
