I canoed this part of the river more than 20 years ago and thought it the most beautiful stretch of river I had ever seen. We feel so fortunate to enjoy such a beautiful place and have enjoyed guestst coming from all over the world, returning families, their friends, and now their children here on Cedar Point Farm. People enjoy fields, woods, all kinds of wildlife, and we even have astronomers come to enjoy the night sky. We are proud to share this beautiful spot with others who come to appreciate the beauty of the area. This cabin is wheelchair friendly for easy access to enjoy relaxing by the fire or to be outside enjoying a beautiful sunset. We hope you choose to experience the beauty of the Shenandoah River Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains with us on Cedar Point Farm.
This Cabin boasts unbelievable views from the kitchen, dining, living and bedroom areas. The one story design of the cabin with walk-in shower, support bars, make it inviting for people of all ages and mobility.
Lovely, cozy, well maintained cabin in beautiful setting...will definitely return.
First thing my daughter said when she saw us was "you look really relaxed". Out of all of the cabin we have visited in the VA mountains, we have to say this was one of the more nicer ones. Renting was easy and Nina was very accommodating and a pleasure to meet. The view from the deck was picturesque, with a serene peacefulness that made you feel like you were the only ones there. The cabin was very, very nice, and had almost everything you would need for a great weekend stay. However, I would suggest having a few more pots and pans for a more complete kitchen, a few more glasses, dishes and staples so you don't have lug so much stuff with you. i.e. foil, plastic wrap, dish towels, dish cloths, and food storage bags. The list of items to bring didn't include those things, so we didn't bring them, but could have used them. Otherwise, everything else was fine. I also liked that there were night lights strategically placed around the cabin since at night it's very dark. I would definitely come back to this cabin and have already spread the word to my kids and friends about how much of a great time we had there, and that they should definitely spend a weekend at Cedar Point Farm Cabin.

Just fabulous - we didn't want for anything! We enjoyed the river, deck, hot tub (sort of, some mechanical issues but she will get it figured out, if not already) view morning and night, last but not least the wildlife! Oh and no wifi or cell service, UNPLUG!!! We brought our motorcycles, stone path but not challenging at all! The riding from the cabin in any direction is stellar, you won't be disappointed: Skyline is very close, it dumps you to the Bkue Ridge, all the side roads are not to be underestimated, 340, 221, 56, 11 are just to name a few that all have their own personality! Enjoyed Staunton, a little of Lynchburg and Roanoke aside from Luray and other local towns surrounding the cabin. This place will NOT disappoint!
We had a very relaxing visit. There are 3 decks and 2 provide splendid views of the mountains and river. The river is a 10 minute walk. We took advantage of tubing on the river.
The hot tub wasn't clean, we didn't use it. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.
Very comfortable furnishings and extremely clean.
We can't say enough how much we enjoyed our weekend stay at Star View Cabin. The cabin met every one of our expectations and then some. We have traveled a lot and usually rent cabins. Most of our visits have been down in N. Carolina or Tennessee where there is an abundance of Cabins with phenomenal views. Being from Virginia, that means a 6 to 7 hour drive. I spend countless hours trying to find a cabin in the Virginia Mountains that could compare to what be are used to, but I always failed to find one until this gem popped up. From the time you pull into the driveway, you are stunned by the beauty this cabin and view has to offer. The cabin offers a open feel as you walk into the door. You are greeted by a spectacular view of the mountains right as you walk in. The well stocked kitchen and living room are open, so it is perfect for entertaining. The main bedroom also has views of the same mountain range as you lay down in the bed. The deck offers a picnic table which we sat and played board games, a bench seat, and two chairs. This cabin does not have WiFi. I was concerned about this in the beginning, but ended up being a blessing. There is a flat screen TV above the fireplace along with a Blu-ray player. We enjoyed walking down to the river every day we while we were there. The water was not deep when we were there, the most was up to my waist. The water is also very clear. We sat on the chairs provided and watched as groups of people floated down the river on tubes or paddling canoes. I thought we would be eaten alive by bugs down by the river, but neither my wife or was bitten. The only misfortune we had was the inability to see the stars at night. Even though it never rained on us, the nights always seemed to be overcast. I spend a lot of time reading the reviews not only on line, but also in the guest book at the cabin, so what I gather, star gazing is an even in itself. It was very hot the weekend so we did not take advantage of the hot tub, but it is there if needed. If you are a church goer, There is a church only 3 minutes away that is worth attending.
Some recommendations. Since there is no Wifi, search for your dinner plans, and any other events before hand.
If others are planning on meeting you there, make sure they have good directions. chances are they will not be able to reach you by phone.
Thank you Nina for sharing this cabin with us and we hope to visit again.
