Choose to drink your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake and listen to the loons, see bald eagles and if you are really lucky....you might see our resident moose with her new babies (she had twins last year)...please keep your distance from her and her babies though as she is a protective mother!

If ...and that is a big if ...you get tired of the lake and would like to venture out, then we have Phillipsburg and Anaconda to do some exploring!

Anaconda is about 45 minutes away and some must do's are:

Visit the Washoe Theater if want to take in a movie--it was the last theater constructed in the US in the Nuevo Deco Style. It was designed in 1930 by a Seattle architect B. Marcus Priteca.

Old Works Golf course if you like to golf...or just like beautiful scenery! The Old Works golf course has been reborn on the site of Anaconda's historic century old copper smelter. The first course ever built on a Federal EPA Superfund site. Designed by Nicklaus and incorporating many historic relics in the design. With it's affordability, condition of course and friendly service. It is quickly building a reputation as one of the premiere, daily fee golf experiences in the Northwest.

Go just a while past Anaconda and visit the Fairmont Hot springs pools with 2 large pools with temps of 88-94 degrees; 2 hot pools ...indoor and outdoor with temps of 100-104 degrees. For kids of any age there is the waterslide--a 350 foot 5 story waterslide--maximum fun (additional charge for waterslide)

Between Anaconda and Phillipsburg is Discovery ski area --during the summer they have opened a bike park and during the winter there is something for everyone from the bunny hill to the mother lode of black diamonds!

Phillipsburg is about 10 miles away and is a fun day trip that offers a ghost town, shopping, local flare in restaurants--try the new bar b que 'Up in Smoke' The Sweet Palace is a must see--they ship candy all over the world. There is a summer theatre Thursday thru Sunday. ice skating in the winter and mining for sapphires.

The Mine 'Gem Mountain' is about an hour away but well worth the drive. Where you can buy your own bucket of dirt and Pan like the miners of old.

About Teresa Teagle

The Lodge at Georgetown was built by our two families. We met in 1992 and were fast friends. In 1997 we decided to purchase land together on 'water' after looking around for awhile, we came to Georgetown and fell in love with it! We cleared trees, pulled stumps and started the building process---a labor of love. Between the two families, we had 6 small children at the time. We wives would take turns having all the kids on the weekend while the other one worked or caught up on life. The dedicated guys would work during the week in Missoula preparing things for the weekend where they would head up on a Friday afternoon and return dog tired on Sunday evening to start all over again. This went on for most of the weeks of the previous year (they built the boat house first so could camp out there during their build time) by May '00 we officially moved in! The next year we decided to try and rent it with a management company.... The internet was not as friendly to use as it is today. We rented the property for many years( till December 2014) with the same company but over the years as we have traveled, we have noticed that our company has our property on VRBO and Homeaway and they were getting less direct referrals so we decided to try on our own this year as we have been missing having a little more connection with our guests. We two families have stayed great friends over the 15 years and enjoy sharing our home with others.

Why Teresa Teagle chose Gold West Country

With 120ft of lake frontage with a sandy beach Fire pit, grassy area and a private dock... This really is one of the nicest water fronts on Georgetown. The home has been very well maintained and we spend a good portion of rental income improving or maintaining the property to our high standards.

We wish we could take our 5 star rating with us but we keep a guest book at the house and here are some of the things they are saying

'Everything was so nice and I love the way you decorated it! We have never stayed in such a well equipped home'

'I have stayed all over the states and Alaska in places similar to this and have never been so pleased with the accommodations'

'most relaxing week of my life'

'The house is amazing, Definitely the nicest place we have ever stayed in! You had everything we needed'

'The house was well thought out down to the smallest details'

'This house is awesome, completely stocked, clean, and beautiful!'

What makes this house unique

From the foundation, to the paint, to the decorations...we had a hand in it all! We take great pride in this home and have continued to make our own great family memories here. Our children are almost grown and we look forward to the cycle continuing and many more memories.

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 amazing days at Georgetown Lake. We were my husband and myself (aka Grandma and Grandpa), 5 kids with their spouses and girlfriend, 9 grandkids and one 4 month old puppy. The weather was perfect, the house spectacular. The paddle boards and kayaks were constantly in use as were the beach toys. The house had everything; toys, games, foos ball, 3 TV's (only used once) dress up clothes...The kitchen had everything.

It had been 3 years since we'd been together and the setting was so conducive to reconnecting and remembering how fortunate we are to be a family.

Thank you, thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Annual Discovery Ski Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house for our group of friends that get together every year to ski Discovery and shake off the winter hibernation blues! Plenty of room and lots of fun things to keep the kids entertained. It had everything we needed to feel right at home and enjoy our long weekend together. Owners were responsive and great to work with. I highly recommend this house!

Truly Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This home is a true mountain treasure! The views are stunning! The home provided a warm and comfortable visit. Each room is beautifully and creatively decorated. In addition, the home is so well equipped that all our needs were easily met. The enormous center island provided a wonderful gathering place for many games of cribbage as well as other card games. The owners do not miss a detail - from the beautiful décor to the shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful home with us! We left with many treasured family memories.

Awesome stay at the lake house

  • 5 of 5

We were absolutely delighted with the home. There was a lot of hard work and love to make it a home.

Everything you needed was at your finger tips. Already to make plans for next year. Loved the game room.

We watched the football game Thursday evening in the living room on the lower floor. Being able to tie the

two boats up to the dock was extra special. Stu has already been talking to another couple about joining us

next year. It is truly 5 star.

We shall return

Nearby attractions:

Phillipsburg is a must see (many stores closed on Saturdays) There is the famous Sweet Palace where candy is shipped all over the world! Stop into Doe Brothers for old fashioned sodas! Try out the new bar b que 'Up in Smoke', for some entertainment they have the summer theater or ice rink in the winter months.

Grocery Shopping:

Phillipsburg is the closest little grocery if just need an item or two but to fill the frig...should go to Anaconda or Missoula if really need in bulk.

Granite Ghost town is in Phillipsburg and Garnett Ghost town near Drummond. Drummond is approx 50 miles so if you venture that way ...try Parkers for a burger (they say there are 135 different kinds and a food challenge for the brave at heart...er stomach) or the wagon wheel has great affordable breakfasts.

If you go the other way around the lake, you will find Discovery ski hill and St Timothy's Chapel. In Anaconda will find lots of little shops, The Old Works Golf course was designed by Jack Niicklaus. Fairmont Hot Springs is a natural hot water spring with indoor and outdoor hot pools with temperatures of 100-104 degrees, indoor and outdoor pool with temperatures of 88-94 degrees, a 350 ft slide that is 5 stories tall is fun for kids of all ages!(extra charge to ride the slide)

Please note that during the winter months--Four wheel drive will be needed to navigate the driveway. We only pay for 1 plow service during your stay and can help to try and arrange others if needed. Sorry...we have no control over the county or when the main roads will get plowed so patience can be a virture...play a game, do a puzzle if need to waste some time.
