About Susan and/or Tim Smith
Tim and I bought this property in September of 2011 and after we retired in April 2012 we moved here to our wonderful new (to us) home. We love the country and this was a great place to us. 71 acres with 2 homes, (we live in the first house) not to large but a good piece to raise cows have our horses, dogs, cats and chickens as well as a garden.
Susan and/or Tim Smith purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Susan and/or Tim Smith chose Tyler
We came to Tyler, TX as a friend of my husbands moved here 24 years ago and said we should come visit. We did, and loved the area and found this wonderful property. We live in the 1st house and after trying to find places for us to stay and our animals on the way here (we moved from 2300 miles away), we decided that it would be a great place to rent for folks that are traveling with animals or that want to vacation in a quiet beautiful country setting. We are not far from Tyler (7mi.) or Lindale (9 mi).
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We love that the homes sit back off the road. The porches on both homes are fantastic to sit on and enjoy the beauty of the trees and pastures with 3 spring fed ponds, watching the different birds and wildlife come through is so refreshing. Both homes are older and we just feel at home and hope ya'll will too.

The house was clean and comfortable. The owners were available to answer any questions, but gave us space to just relax. Our kids loved getting to pet the horses and dogs and see the new calves. Thank you!

Secluded, yes! But not far to town. Not handicapped accessible if loved one is wheelchair bound.
Loved watching the cows welcome the birth of a new calf. Meet and greet! Two, while we were there . Very quiet, Didn’t get to enjoy the fishing ponds, couldn’t push the wheelchair through the cow pasture. Great place for relaxing! The Dogs welcome you every time you come back in , they are sweet! Couple of cats rarely seen, horses fun to watch. We were house hunting, most of our time was evenings. The owners were great, quiet, and rarely seen .
Thank you Theresa, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the evenings because as you said you were house hunting during the day. We did let you know that it was not wheelchair friendly, even sent you the pictures and measurements of all the steps and step ups to the bedrooms before you booked and you said you'd work it out. We did get you ramps to help you out on to the porches and I'm sorry that you didn't get to use the ponds as we let you know that you could have driven out to the ponds and pushed the wheelchair only a couple of feet. But all in all I think you enjoyed the space inside and out. We do hope you found a home here in East TX. God bless you and yours.

The house was very clean, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the animals, feeding the horses and fishing at their ponds. Great getaway for those looking for nature’s beauty and for peace and relaxation. Was fun talking to the owners who excell at hospitality!!
Thank you Robin, It was a pleasure to see your grandson really enjoy the outdoors. You were all very nice to talk with and glad you got to fish and enjoy the country. God bless you and yours.
