About Susan and/or Tim Smith
Tim and I bought this property in September of 2011 and after we retired in April 2012 we moved here to our wonderful new (to us) home. We love the country and this was a great place to us. 71 acres with 2 homes, (we live in the first house) not to large but a good piece to raise cows have our horses, dogs, cats and chickens as well as a garden.
Susan and/or Tim Smith purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Susan and/or Tim Smith chose Tyler
We came to Tyler, TX as a friend of my husbands moved here 24 years ago and said we should come visit. We did, and loved the area and found this wonderful property. We live in the 1st house and after trying to find places for us to stay and our animals on the way here (we moved from 2300 miles away), we decided that it would be a great place to rent for folks that are traveling with animals or that want to vacation in a quiet beautiful country setting. We are not far from Tyler (7mi.) or Lindale (9 mi).
What makes this Farmhouse unique
We love that the homes sit back off the road. The porches on both homes are fantastic to sit on and enjoy the beauty of the trees and pastures with 3 spring fed ponds, watching the different birds and wildlife come through is so refreshing. Both homes are older and we just feel at home and hope ya'll will too.

Our Wonderful Stay
Just what the doctor ordered!!! Beautiful secluded ranch with horses, cows and dogs with awesome views from the porch. The house was very nice and has plenty of room. Last, but not least are Susan & Tim - wonderful hosts!!! We will be going back. Only 30/35 minutes from Canton with a wonderful country drive.
Lovely older home on beautiful acreage with cows and horses.
The house was very clean, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the animals, feeding the horses and fishing at their ponds. Great getaway for those looking for nature’s beauty and for peace and relaxation. Was fun talking to the owners who excell at hospitality!!
Secluded, yes! But not far to town. Not handicapped accessible if loved one is wheelchair bound.
Loved watching the cows welcome the birth of a new calf. Meet and greet! Two, while we were there . Very quiet, Didn’t get to enjoy the fishing ponds, couldn’t push the wheelchair through the cow pasture. Great place for relaxing! The Dogs welcome you every time you come back in , they are sweet! Couple of cats rarely seen, horses fun to watch. We were house hunting, most of our time was evenings. The owners were great, quiet, and rarely seen .
Nice, spacious, comfortable country home.

Comfortable home with everything you need. My kids loved playing in the field in front of the house that overlooks the horse pasture. We didn’t catch any fish, but they were definitely biting. Very peaceful and relaxing weekend. Susan is very welcoming and responsive.
Very glad that y'all were able to enjoy the country a little bit. We like it when the kids enjoy the outdoors and there is plenty of room for them to play. We hope to see you again. God Bless

Nice little getaway
My husband and I and our 2 kids visited for 2 nights and had a great time! The house is set behind the main house on the property but still feels private. The owners are very friendly but you certainly don't feel bothered by the fact that they are nearby. My girls loved the friendly horses and dogs on the property and Susan was more than willing to let them watch as she cared for the horses. The house was very comfortable. The two bedrooms are connected (you have to walk through one to get to the other) but it worked just fine for us. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. And the fire pit was great for roasting marshmallows! Overall, this was a peaceful and restful place to stay! Thanks!
Teresa, thank you and it was a pleasure to see your girls enjoy the horses. We're happy that they were able to enjoy the outdoors, so good for the body and soul. We hope to see you all again. God Bless
