About Angela Terri

When I was 9 years old I visited my grandparents at this property. The first thing I remember is the sound of the falls and the rush of the water over the rocks in the creek. I have been enjoying this paradise ever since.

Angela Terri purchased this chateau / country house in 1986

Why Angela Terri chose Bryson City

Although my grandparents have passed my love for them and this waterfall continues to this day. It reminds me of some of the best times of my childhood playing in the creek with my siblings, going to deep creek, rafting at Nantahala, and all the other wonderful events that this area has to offer. From a women's retreat, family gatherings, holidays. Opportunities for many memorable times.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

In 2008 I completely remodeled this house from cherry hardwood floors to the new metal roof. We put attention to every detail to make this home as comfortable and unique as possible. French doors that open out to the deck that over looks the waterfall, all new windows and doors, and new appliances make this a place you will want to relax, enjoy and return to again and again.

Waterfall. No, really. A real waterfall. All to yourself. Amazing!

The pictures really don't do it justice. I was skeptical. I thought the pictures might be a bit misleading. You know, take a photo from the right angle and things look bigger or closer than they really are. No so here. I'm over 6' and that waterfall was over my head! I know because I waded out there and stood under it. Good thing the hot tub is only 30' away. :)

The layout is a little quirky but it grows on you. There's enough room here for two couples to have privacy. This place would handle five-six people no problem. And if they don't mind a couch or air mattress, there's room for eight or more. The kitchen is more than adequate and the dining room table quite spacious. There's a couple of air conditioning window units and an abundance of ceiling fans so it stays quite cool. In the event it gets too cool, there's a heater in every room plus a couple of gas fireplaces downstairs. Even if it's pouring rain there's a sheltered lower deck with a great view of the waterfall. Can't go wrong no matter the weather.

Speaking of views of the waterfall, the master bedroom offers a great one. As does the back deck, the hot tub, the driveway, the porch area where the grill is located, the upstairs bathroom, the end of the couch in the living room. In fact, you have to try if you want a space where you can't get a great view of the waterfall. And, should you manage to pull that off (but why would you?) you can still hear it. Very soothing but not overpowering. Sounded like a rain shower and put me right to sleep.

The only caution I would convey about this house, and it's really a plus, is how secluded it really is. I would strongly encourage guests to arrive during daylight their first day. I put the address in my GPS and it took me to one of three mailboxes out on Hwy 28. I was within a couple hundred feet of the house at the moment but I couldn't see it through the trees. Fortunately Angela had emailed me excellent directions, as I'm certain she does for all guests, telling me right where to turn and which driveway was mine. While I'm confident I could have found the house in the dark by following her instructions, it was a lot easier in the daytime. And once you know where to look, finding it again in the dark is no problem. But once you're down in the hollow, next to the waterfall, there's no trace of the outside world.

This is a great place to relax and unwind as is. But having your own private waterfall? Breathtaking!

Wonderful House

  • 5 of 5

The house was better than expected! The beautiful waterfall and creek provided hours of fun for my girls (and me). The house was clean and fully equipped, we also enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub! Also loved how close it was to so many things to do! Would definitely love to come back again one day...and stay longer!!

Very clean and convenient to Bryson City.

We loved our stay at the Waterfall house. It was peaceful and inviting. Enjoyed being able to relax by the fireplace and in the hot tub, with the sound of the waterfall in background. Speaking of the waterfall... it was the highlight of the stay. The stream runs practically under the back of the house. Well, almost. 😊 Definitely a tranquil setting. I highly recommend.

Relaxation at its finest

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place to spend a week. The cabin is only about 15 minutes from downtown Bryson City if you want to go out for some dinner. Otherwise just sit back in the hot tub and listen to the cascading waterfall. The place was well kept and clean. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for solitude.
