Annual fishing trip to Squam with a friend, 30+ years and counting. Great location, very convenient to town for necessities, accommodations as promised. Hope to stay again next year!
My friends and I enjoy a fishing weekend on Squam and have stayed here a few times now. The dock is perfect for us and even has power at it to recharge my trolling battery. The house is clean and perfect for what we need.
We arrived Christmas Eve and stayed for a few days after Christmas. The wood burning stove heated the place up nicely and made the cottage very cozy. We got just enough snow to make it fun for snowshoeing right in the area. Our dogs had fun too!
We visited this beautiful place to attend a family wedding nearby. Weddings, as you might guess, can be fraught with high emotions and stress. I am so glad that we stayed here. The lake was so relaxing to watch and the couches inside made for the best naps. We ended up having a lovely time at the wedding. I hope we can come back very soon!
A beautiful escape and an extra treat being able to bring the family dog - he was in the lake before we were even finished unpacking! The view from the 3 season porch and the dock was especially beautiful at sunset and we made full use of the available kayaks to explore the lake from the water.
The wood burning stove helped to make the most of a couple chilly rainy days and we appreciated the easy-to-use tv to keep up with the football games on Sunday.
We were sad to leave when our visit was over.
We really had a restful and fun time at this lovely property. The whole area is quaint and charming and I will always remember this vacay as a wonderful time. Also, really appreciated the consistent communication with the host. Tom was just great and the time he spent communicating ahead by email was very helpful to us. My only disappointment was that relaxing and listening to the loons was heavily promoted but alas, there were no loons, at least i did not see or hear even one.?? Ah well, will have to return and try again. Much thanks for a splendid time! BF

Never again.
Pluses are Lakefront, easy to find, room to spread out. Fast internet. Open kitchen
Negatives are it was dirty.. Television was an issue. Sometimes fine other times it did not work. Sofas were disgusting with stains. Flipped cushions but the other side was even worse. The bathroom floor was extremely dirty. Shower faucet broken. I never complained to owner , I would not stay again.
Sorry I’m harsh but a few repairs and a deep cleaning along with new furniture and new mattress would make this place a real gem.
What a beautiful property. Perfect home base for hiking, traipsing around Meredith, Laconia and other lake towns. I MUCH prefer the solitude of Squam Lake to the busier areas of Lake Winnepesaukee. Tucked away in the woods, crystal clear water, plenty of room for the pup to run around, friendly neighbors when we saw them. Highly recommend!
Thank you so much - another beautiful week. We love the location and serenity of the area.
The view is amazing and Walter’s is a fun place to hang.
Thank you!
Rented this property with my wife and our adult children for the ice fishing derby. House was warm and comfortable with easy access to the ice. Would recommend this rental property for all 4 seasons.
3 November nights in this cozy spot. Beautiful views. Friendly neighbors nearby. Nice and quiet, got lots of work done. Climbed nearby Rattlesnake with the dogs - blissful getaway.
The house was just as described...on a private road, on Squam Lake, well-stocked (everything from kitchenware to games) and cozy. We were there during cold weather and not only was the house fully winterized but has a wonderful wood-burning stove. Wood was supplied as well. The peacefulness, the wood-burning stove and our hike up West Rattlesnake Mountain were highlights of the stay for us. We found local supermarkets rather lacking and would encourage a trip to nearby Meredith or Plymouth to get to larger, well-equipped markets.
The rental property was very comfortable and met all of our needs. Beautiful location on Lake Sqam. Very peaceful and serene. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, and Marina. I woild highly recommend it for a couples visit or small family.
We picked the perfect time of year to rent the cottage on Squam Lake. It was clean, well stocked with almost anything you would need for a week, and provided a show of loons and fall colors. It was a great place to decompress and enjoy the calm.
Had a GREAT mini vaca. Although I'm tempted to tell you all that it stunk, but only to prevent you from competing with me when I try to book again for next year. This is a VERY nice property in a nice quiet location! Very clean!
House has everything ... we loved the waterfront, use of canoe/kayaks, deck chairs on the dock, nice screen room, comfortable living room, great hiking close by. All in all a great stay.
