Also the small kitchen has a combination small refrigerator, two burner stove and sink and a microwave and a small convection oven. The cabin has it's own full bathroom with a shower and toilet. It has great outside space with a deck on two sides that face the most marvelous view of the Bitterroot mountains to watch the sunset from. There is a outside grill and firepit to farther enjoy the Montana wilderness feeling. 'Bear Cave' is decorated with the original watercolor paintings and limited edition prints by the co-owner/artist, Tracy Rose Moyers, that are available for purchase. Cabin is located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley which is considered in the 'banana belt' which means that the area has milder weather compared to the rest of Montana. The Bitterroot is also considered one of the best fly-fishing areas of the country.

About Tracy and Dale Moyers
Dale and Tracy moved out to Montana from Virginia, to follow their dream of running a vacation cabin rental business. Tracy is also a professional artist that specializes in watercolor and paints the Native Americans, wildlife and landscapes of Montana. Her studio is located in the main house on the same grounds as the cabins. The couple moved to Montana the summer of 2014 and after living in their motorhome for the summer and looking at numerous properties for sale, they found just what they were looking for with this property- a log house with three cabins. The property was owned by an older woman that ran it as a bed and breakfast (Heavenly View Hideaway Bed and Breakfast) but at 75 years of age she was ready to sell and retire. Being the ideal place that Tracy and Dale were looking for. Tracy and Dale met and dated in high school back in Virginia but when Tracy went out to Denver Colorade for Art College, they went separate ways. They dated again after Tracy graduated and came back to Virginia but at that time were on different paths, so went separate ways again. They both married other people and moved on with their lives. But 30 years later, after both happened to be divorced, they ran into one another again and the third time was the charm- they got married. Both brought two sons each into the marriage and now all four sons are grown and out on their own. That was when Tracy and Dale got the opportunity to follow their dreams and move out to Montana and start the new business, Wilderness Spirit Cabins.

Why Tracy and Dale Moyers chose Ravalli County
After visiting Montana for the first time back in 2000, Tracy fell in love with the state. Visited again several times through the years and introduced it to Dale. Both love the beauty and mountains and rivers and lakes of the area and looked at numerous properties in the western part of Montana before finding the perfect spot. Which was this place! Where there are numerous hiking trails, flyfishing on the Bitterroot River, Lake Como for swimming, boating, water skiing and jet skiing, and in the winter the ski resorts are within an hour drive. Great location for all those Montana activities.
What makes this Cabin unique
The heavenly view is the highlight of this property. Also the rural atmosphere yet real close to the towns of Corvallis and Hamilton and the numerous activities that one can enjoy in the Bitterroot Valley.

Exactly what we wanted
Adorable little cabin. Minimal yet manageable.
Comfy beds waiting for you after you've grilled some steaks under the Montana sky.
Very enjoyable stay
Dale and Tracey hosted Jan & me and our two large dogs. Beautiful view of the Bitterroots from the front porch. The kitchen is a bit small but that did not stop us from cooking almost every meal. The mattress on the main queen bed was great! Slept wonderful. If a rustic cabin is in your sights, this one is it!
Loved this place!! It was absolutely perfect for my husband and I and our 3 small kids. We were more than comfortable. The views were amazing too. Hope to stay there again.
Wilderness spirit cabin
My wife and I spent 5 days and where totally at home .Our hosts were charming and Always willing to accomedate us for any of our needs. A 5 star experience,We will be back next year.
Bear Cave cabin was our 8th VRBO and our first disappointment. We anticipated rustic and know and love the beautiful Bitterroot Valley, but nothing in the pictures, information, or reviews prepared us for the stairs going from the living room up to kitchen and to the bedroom nor the uneven flooring – adjoining floor sections do not match in height and many nails protrude rather than being flush to the floor. This cabin is unsuitable for anyone with mobility or vision issues and would be hazardous for toddlers as well, and the owners should advise potential guests of that. The toilet is extremely low to the floor and nothing, including the sink and vanity, is attached to the wall and available to help you pull yourself to your feet. Yellowjackets have nested behind the emergency exit and swarm around outside of the cabin during the heat of the day. Only one window opens and the air conditioner is fickle. The boardwalk around the cabin is decaying and requires careful stepping. Summer weight blankets would have been preferable to the heavy quilts on the beds. The final straw was discovering the refrigerator had frozen all of our fruits and vegetables. We paid for three nights, but only stayed two, did not enjoy it, and would never go back.
We were so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay in the Bear Cave cabin as most of our guests have enjoyed it. We certainly take every effort to provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience for guests and would have done even more had you come to us at the time. For example, the new air conditioner was set to “fan only” and all the windows open, except one. The setting on the refrigerator can be easily adjusted and we are glad to help guests with any requests. As you can see on the VRBO page, the “handicap inaccessible” tab was selected as our cabins are rustic in nature. However, it is a great suggestion to further clarify the levels of flooring and deck with additional photos. Unfortunately, due to a mild winter season the Bitterroot area has experienced more wasps then normal however we immediately sprayed several times when you expressed your concern. We will certainly continue to address insect issues as we want guests to be as comfortable as possible and enjoy their stay in the beautiful Bitterroot area!
We really enjoyed our time in this cabin, it reminds one of an Alaskan cabin. It is rustic but comfortable, well suited to 2-4 people. The Moyers are very accommodating and friendly people who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. They were quick to take care of our concerns, which were few. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family. Great job Tracy and Dale!!
