About the property

One bedroom, one bath log cabin with Mountain views

A quaint and cozy log cabin with a large bedroom with a queen bed and two twin beds and a large sitting area with a futon for extra sleeping if needed. Plus a separate livingroom with a TV with DirectTV satellite and a dvd player with a movie library, book library and family games. Free Wi-Fi is available. Also the small kitchen has a combination small refrigerator, two burner stove and sink and a microwave and a small convection oven. The cabin has it's own full bathroom with a shower and toilet. It has great outside space with a deck on two sides that face the most marvelous view of the Bitterroot mountains to watch the sunset from. There is a outside grill and firepit to farther enjoy the Montana wilderness feeling. 'Bear Cave' is decorated with the original watercolor paintings and limited edition prints by the co-owner/artist, Tracy Rose Moyers, that are available for purchase. Cabin is located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley which is considered in the 'banana belt' which means that the area has milder weather compared to the rest of Montana. The Bitterroot is also considered one of the best fly-fishing areas of the country.

About Tracy and Dale Moyers

Dale and Tracy moved out to Montana from Virginia, to follow their dream of running a vacation cabin rental business. Tracy is also a professional artist that specializes in watercolor and paints the Native Americans, wildlife and landscapes of Montana. Her studio is located in the main house on the same grounds as the cabins. The couple moved to Montana the summer of 2014 and after living in their motorhome for the summer and looking at numerous properties for sale, they found just what they were looking for with this property- a log house with three cabins. The property was owned by an older woman that ran it as a bed and breakfast (Heavenly View Hideaway Bed and Breakfast) but at 75 years of age she was ready to sell and retire. Being the ideal place that Tracy and Dale were looking for.

Tracy and Dale met and dated in high school back in Virginia but when Tracy went out to Denver Colorade for Art College, they went separate ways. They dated again after Tracy graduated and came back to Virginia but at that time were on different paths, so went separate ways again. They both married other people and moved on with their lives. But 30 years later, after both happened to be divorced, they ran into one another again and the third time was the charm- they got married. Both brought two sons each into the marriage and now all four sons are grown and out on their own. That was when Tracy and Dale got the opportunity to follow their dreams and move out to Montana and start the new business, Wilderness Spirit Cabins.

Tracy and Dale Moyers purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Tracy and Dale Moyers chose Bitterroot Valley

After visiting Montana for the first time back in 2000, Tracy fell in love with the state. Visited again several times through the years and introduced it to Dale. Both love the beauty and mountains and rivers and lakes of the area and looked at numerous properties in the western part of Montana before finding the perfect spot. Which was this place! Where there are numerous hiking trails, flyfishing on the Bitterroot River, Lake Como for swimming, boating, water skiing and jet skiing, and in the winter the ski resorts are within an hour drive. Great location for all those Montana activities.

What makes this cabin unique

The heavenly view is the highlight of this property. Also the rural atmosphere yet real close to the towns of Corvallis and Hamilton and the numerous activities that one can enjoy in the Bitterroot Valley.

Exactly what we wanted

Adorable little cabin. Minimal yet manageable.

Comfy beds waiting for you after you've grilled some steaks under the Montana sky.

Very enjoyable stay

  • 4 of 5

Dale and Tracey hosted Jan & me and our two large dogs. Beautiful view of the Bitterroots from the front porch. The kitchen is a bit small but that did not stop us from cooking almost every meal. The mattress on the main queen bed was great! Slept wonderful. If a rustic cabin is in your sights, this one is it!

Right @ Home!

We LOVED this place & our Hosts Tracy & Dale!! Kind, caring,w great sense of humor. They wholeheartedly embraced our pets.

We stayed in 2 different cabins over a 3 month period thru spring, while looking for long term housing. The Bear Cave was the best size for just 2 of us.Both cabins were clean, warm, cozy w great supplies & views(P.S. Windows do open!).Peaceful property..trees are heavenly.Great central location w short distance to 3 larger cities.Handy for biking, hiking, fishing, riding, etc. Our house-hunting was grueling & this quiet respite was wonderful to recoup in.Tracy & Dale are blessedly intuitive & do their thing & let U have your space too,unless..U want to chat,in which case..they are warm, welcoming & fun!

Would recommend highly & go back in a heartbeat..

We really enjoyed our time in this cabin, it reminds one of an Alaskan cabin. It is rustic but comfortable, well suited to 2-4 people. The Moyers are very accommodating and friendly people who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. They were quick to take care of our concerns, which were few. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family. Great job Tracy and Dale!!
