The Hawaiian Islands have captured imaginations around the world and drawn the attention of writers dating back to Mark Twain and Robert Louis Stevenson.
Perfect year-round temperatures. Warm waters. Rainbow-splashed skies. Endless stretches of sand in every imaginable color. Hawaii may be far (2,400 miles from the mainland U.S.), but once you visit its beaches, it’s hard to resist the pull back.
With renewed focus on Agri and Eco tourism, Hawaii becomes even more focused on preservation of natural beauty for decades to come and more opportunities for visitors to take part in varied and exciting adventures while enjoying cultural and natural adventures in the islands!
Maui is unique also within the island archipelago, its beauty, culture, and history renowned world wide.
Maui-the most spectacular of all the Hawaiian Islands. It is neither too big nor too small, and for visitors, its perfect year-round temperature, rainbow-splashed volcanic summits and sugary beaches are just right. Adventure galore with zip lines, hiking, biking, and all ocean sports . Maui’s inherent beauty and hospitality remain as vibrant as ever. It’s a great time to explore Central and South Maui, where new cocktail bars, outrigger canoe tours and Indigenous art exhibits reveal the community’s creativity and resilience and perfect year-round temperatures.
Of the eight major islands, Maui stands apart with its mix of ritzy, resort-lined, sugary shores and historic beach towns imbued with genuine aloha spirit. As the Lahaina waterfront rebuilds, the spotlight has shifted to Paia, a quaint historic town on Maui’s North Shore - an easy drive from the South Shore and Maui Kamaole. Maui awaits and welcomes you!
Maui Kamaole is unique on Maui:

The gardens and lush landscaping are a true tropical paradise including 2 pools with spas (one sand bottom!), gas grills, tennis courts, waterfall and club houses for guests use.
Located across from Kamaole Beach III, the fabulous beaches, resorts, and shops of Wailea and Makena are just minutes away. Maui Kamaole is located across from undeveloped beachfront area, at the edge of Kihei, adjacent to Wailea, away from more congested resort areas, but close to all.
Maui Kamaole is more secure, secluded, and affordable than the major hotel/resort complexes but offers similar resort amenities with close access to restaurants, beaches, shops, bars, etc. of the major resorts in Wailea. Designed by a Canadian architect from Vancouver BC and originally a Canadian development, Maui Kamaole has a bit of a European Mediterranean resort feel with paths wandering through the lush tropical landscaping connecting buildings and leading to unexpected garden settings and with the pools having a more intimate setting than larger hotel resorts. And

About the host
Hosted by Jim Sanford

I have been visiting Maui from the mainland since 1986 and worked on island and lived in the condo for 2 years.
I am quite active and enjoy the water, being an avid swimmer, both ocean and pool,so love Maui where I can do both. I use Maui as my escape, unwind, and reconnect time, so enjoy not only swimming, but hiking, running, gym, cooking, and reading. when on island.
I currently live in San Diego working part time from recent retirement
Originally from the Midwest (Champaign, Illinois), went to college in Indiana (De Pauw University), and graduate school in Chicago (University of Illinois), the Navy brought me to San Diego. Except for living on Maui for 2 years, in San Diego ever since ever, but enjoy getting back on island to relax and unwind when ever time permits.

Why they chose this property
For many years,we took a break over the Holidays in Maui and always stayed at the Maui Lu resort in north Kihei, but one Christmas,it was booked and our travel agent booked us into Maui Kamaole. We loved it-the flowers everywhere, the gardens, the low rise, low density design and the units were so large compared with other resorts. The location across from the county park, with the stretch of undeveloped land along the ocean across from Maui Kamaole meant that the ocean views would remain unobstructed ,and sitting up on the hill overlooking the ocean,Maui Kamaole was much more secluded than surrounding resorts in Kihei and Wailea. Not only were the best beaches of Kihei and Wailea just to either side along the ocean, within in a few minutes walk, but our favorite beaches at Makena State Park for swimming and snorkeling were a quick 15 minutes down the road.Maui Kamaole was perfect. The North shore with the coastal beach town and nightlife in Paia and up country attractions is also easily accessible without the long drive required from resorts on the West side of Maui.
What makes this property unique
Private and quiet, the unit has a perfect location within the complex. Because it has a long expanse of lawn in front along with garden and parking front and back, it truly is one of the more private units at Maui Kamaole. Out the front is ocean and the West Maui Mountains with a view almost over to Wailuku which shimmers with lights at night. Out the back, are views of Haleakala even from the walk in shower. If you decide to stay in the unit, you will find that it has more subtle colors and traditional Hawaiian furnishings than other units. The older hotels and vacation plantations of the islands were furnished from items from China, England and the Mainland-the condo reflects these traditions both in colors and furniture. For us, staying in the condo is a relaxing, peaceful escape from the hectic pace of the mainland. It truly feels like a home away from home on Maui, and hopefully will feel the same for you. Please note: all 2 bedroom units at Maui Kamaole are walk up 2nd floor (no elevator) and occupy the top floors of the townhouse style condos with no units above for a quieter and more private stay.
