About this property

Farmhouse in the heart of Chiantishire at 3 kms minutes distance from the historical township of Castellina in Chianti. 23 kms from Siena and 37 kms from Florence. The villa is set at an altitude of 600 meters.

We are surrounded by vineyards and oak woods a perfect place to run away from busy city life or to relax. The great location close to the most important art cities of Tuscany and close to the major streets of our land make our villa a perfect solution to discover Tuscany.

The villa is suitable for 4 people and consists of two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, multifunctional whirpool shower, and a large kitchen with all the comforts.

From one of the two rooms can be accessed the great terrace with porch from which is possible to arrive on the ample garden with sight on the hills of Chianti and on the valley of the Chantishire.

The ample garden (1 hectare - 100 ares) is protected by a 2 meters high fence. It gives a real and fully privacy to our guests. The house is 50 meters far from our house so for any information or questions guests can always count on us.

Castellina in Chianti 2025

A return trip to this cottage which we first visited for just a few days sometime around 2012.The cottage is just as beautiful as it was then. It has been well maintained and the views remain heavenly!Castellina too has aged well. more restaurants, shopping, art and vineyards. A huge shoutout to Podere La Piaggia for a beautiful and memorable private tasting and lunch!

Beautiful and Relaxing

It was a perfect home base for my husband and I for daytripping around Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, and a welcome break from staying at a hotel. The town is close to the property, and an easy stop for breakfast and coffee on our way to other destinations. Unfortunately it was raining most of the days we were there, so we did not get to enjoy the exterior as we had hoped.Note to others: the street to the farmhouse is not paved and there are many potholes, so drive slowly and carefully!

Fantastic isolation

The house was beautiful and the location was wonderfully quiet and set back from the main road. It’s quaint and cozy. There’s a short gravel road up to the cottage but it’s an easy drive. I would definitely book again.

Wonderful Property very convenient to all of our favorite Chianti villages and restaurants. Very quiet, not even a distant dog barking at night. Minor issue with hot water but this was quickly addressed by the manager. We look forward to visiting again in 2025. unusual for the Chi

Beautiful Location in the hills of Tuscany

This charming farmhouse made our stay in the Tuscan region perfect. While we never met the host, they were very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. The farm and area is beautiful! We rented a car and did day trips to Montepulciano, Siena, Volterra, Lucca and Cinque Terre. The house is also convenient to the local town. We found excellent restaurants and also bought groceries at the Coop. Would highly recommend staying here if planning a trip to this region of Italy.

Nice stay in off season

My husband and I stayed here for a few days in February. It was a nice location for day trips to Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Siena. Since it was the off season, almost no shops in Castellina in Chianti were open (and very few in San Gimignano) which was fine for us. We loved a hiking trail that ran right past the property. Check in was provided by the Italian Mama, who was very helpful and sweet (no English). The place was pleasant and quiet and dark at night, great for sleeping. Lots of birds during the day. We were a little chilly in the evenings (19 C) and didn’t notice until the last day that to increase the temperature we were supposed to email the owner, so that’s on us, but I do wonder if the language barrier at check in might have prevented such useful information from being communicated. Overall a lovely visit and it is easy to recommend.

Beautiful cottage

Charming quaint cottage with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The property contains a road way we used to walk everyday. We saw deer and a fox as well as beautiful mountain vistas. The town of Castellino is so charming with friendly people, a nice market and a couple nice restaurants. Bonus was the winery on the adjacent property. Take advantage of this lovely winery, have lunch and a tour you won’t be disappointed, make a reservation. This is also a great location to take day trips to all the Tuscan hill towns of San Gimigiano, Montepulciano, Siena and Greve. Enjoy

The most beautiful experience! The little house is even better than the photos! Close to the quaint village, however, it should be noted that there are no grocery markets open on Sunday so do account for that. Lovely stay that I would highly recommend!

Peaceful Tuscan Retreat

Everything about this stay and working with Daniele was wonderful! The location is serene and beautiful. Being only a few minutes from a quaint town with grocery store and delicious restaurants is also great. We found a car to be necessary since it is located in the country (although pretty close to most of the sights one would want to see in the Tuscany region). Daniele was helpful and easy to work with. We didn’t want to leave. :) thank you so much Daniele!

Farmhouse in the Chianti Region

We have stayed in vacation rentals and VRBO's all over the US and Europe and this was the absolute nicest cleanest home we have ever rented. The location in the Chianti Region was perfect and there seems to be a Winery on every corner. We loved it and hope to return

Beautiful location with amazing views

Very comfortable cottage with all the amenities. The garden and terrace look north and west. They are yours to enjoy. There are hiking paths through the farm that you can follow through some very nice countryside. The town is close with shopping and some good restaurants. Daniele was very helpful. We were very lucky to stay here.

Beautiful house, pics and descriptions are very accurate

We stayed for 3 nights, would’ve loved to had stayed longer, but we booked late and the house was taken. Very beautiful house, and area. I was unaware of how awesome the small town just 5 minute drive was. Several great restaurants and shopping. If I ever return to this area, this is the house I will be staying in!

Fantastic!

If you want to stay some place that really captures the feeling of Venice, then this is the place. Convenient location for wandering the streets. Quiet, but enough nearby for easy access. Open the windows and the canal is 2 ft away!

Lovely farmhouse in the picturesque hill towns of Tuscany

Perfect location to explore best wine region!

Even in February, when the trees are all bare and the vineyards are empty, this property was great. Two humble rooms each with their own bathroom. A small living and dining space. Good for cooking some simple meals. We were mostly touring wineries - so we didnt spend too much time at the place. But it was perfect for when we returned. Close to Castellina for all groceries & restaurants. Thanks Daniele!

Beautiful villa in the heart of Tuscany!

We have been eyeing this villa for a couple of years and finally made the trip a reality. We were not disappointed. Nicely appointed, spacious and comfortable. It is located central to everything Tuscany has to offer. There is even a lovely winery right next door! We will stay here again the next time we make this dream trip!

True essence of a Tuscan vacation.

We loved our stay in Castellina in Chianti. The farmhouse was exactly as expected, warm and inviting. The farmhouse had everything you needed. We walked part of the farmhouse grounds and the views were breath taking. We actually saw a red stag run across the road in front of us. We rented a car to drive around the Tuscan hillsides. The town of Castellina in Chianti was a short 6 minute drive. Wine tasting were around every turn. It is a short 1/2 hr drive to Sienna. Daniele was available to answer any questions we had. I never wanted to leave.

Castellina in Chianti is magical- every day started with a trip to town for cappuccinos and a “wee” pastry. Quiet and peaceful home to return to every night after a day of exploring the nearby cities... Highly recommend !!!!

I'm Daniele Sandrelli the owner of the farmhouse. The villa is situated in the center of our farm. We produce saffron, wine and lavender. My family lives here since 1865, but the farmhouse was restructuring on 2005. In the past was an ancient agricultural structure building at the beginning of the 1900's. Restructuring the villa was inspired by the typical Tuscany style: stone walls, "cotto" tile floors, joists roofs and beds in wrought iron and big terrace with porch.
