This beautiful resort is consistently rated amongst the best in Cancun, by travel publications, industry publications, and most importantly, by people like you and me. In fact, as of this writing, the Westin Lagunamar has a 4.5 star rating with almost 4900 reviews on TripAdvisor!

Our rental is approx. 1,140 sq ft (106 sq m) of beachfront luxury with room for up to 8 (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 sofa sleepers). Recharge your body and soul in the intuitively designed, spacious villas at The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa. Your stylish two-bedroom lock off ocean view villa comfortably accommodates up to eight adults. Each bedroom provides a private seaside balcony for enjoying Caribbean breezes, as well as luxurious comforts of home like a kitchen or kitchenette, washer and dryer, and generous living and dining areas with flat-panel TV’s, DVD player and Bose® AM/FM Wave® radios. All bedrooms also feature the signature Westin Heavenly® Bed, with layer after layer of refreshing down bedding, perfectly punctuating each sun-soaked, fun-filled day.

The relaxed elegance and soothing comfort that are characteristic of a Westin resort perfectly complement the idyllic Cancún setting of The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa. Rising from the brilliant powder sands of Mexico’s most popular destination, you’ll be immersed in local adventure and the modern amenities of a world-class, AAA Four Diamond-rated resort. Steps from your villa, discover the ancient mysteries of ruins left behind by Mayan royalty of centuries past. Satisfy your passion for culinary delights and the latest fashions at the area’s finest shopping and dining venue, La Isla. Or spend days in the sparkling pools, strolling the cool white sand, and experiencing the unending recreation and relaxation of this distinct Mexican Caribbean paradise.

With a visually stunning design, the heavenly grand pool literally appears to blend into the Caribbean Sea, in a seamless gradient of balmy blues. Dreamy accoutrements include a swim-up bar and poolside bar, water slide, shallow children’s pool and soothing whirlpool spas. Another, more intimate pool views the ocean from a different vantage, with a beach-like, zero-entry slope.

Just steps below the infinity pool’s dramatic overlook, the sand massages your bare feet as you walk along the peaceful shoreline, the ocean foam surging over your ankles in enticing waves. Between wading interludes in the cerulean sea, unwind in your own private cabana chaise lounge, enjoying refreshing cocktails and delectable cuisine brought by attentive beach servers.

From international delights to authentic Mexican favorites to casual poolside fare, the restaurants and bars at this resort showcase the best local products—including exotic tropical fruits, delicious seafood and the finest Mexican tequilas. Partake while overlooking the ocean, lounging at the beach, poolside or at the refreshing swim-up bar, on an outdoor barbecue or in the comfort of your villa.

When not soaking up Caribbean rays at the pool or beach, you and your family can enjoy casual recreation beneath shading palm trees at the resort’s inviting 18-hole miniature golf course, a leisurely respite before your next exciting adventure exploring in and around the beautiful Cancún area.

Located on the resort’s grounds atop Cancún’s highest perch, the ruins of this ancient Scorpion’s Temple stand as a meaningful historic marker of Mayan days, when the coastal structure would have been an important watchtower for warning of storms and a navigational guide pointing sailors toward Chichén Itzá over 1,500 years ago.

Create your ideal balance between the best of Caribbean relaxation and invigorating activity, while enjoying the resort’s perfect positioning for access to Cancún’s beautiful beaches, spectacular natural wonders and some of the world’s most famous archaeological sites.

From day expeditions venturing to ancient Mayan treasures and water explorations of meandering caves, stalactite rivers and sacred cenotes, to championship golf courses and renowned waterfront dining, shopping and nightlife, you’ll experience the very best of Mexico’s Costa del Sol.

Once the most powerful city in the Yucatán and a sacred destination of Mayan pilgrimage for more than 1,500 years, Chichén Itzá is a remarkable archeological monument to the marvels of this ancient culture, including the majestic Kukulkán Pyramid, dedicated to the Feathered Serpent God. This temple, also known as El Castillo (The Castle), is one of the new seven wonders of the world.

From its east coastal positioning, this ‘City of the Dawn’ is steeped in mystical symbolism, its colored frescoes and intricate carvings conveying clues about the Mayan spiritual world, from the diving god representing Kukulkán and the Venus morning star to the rattlesnake-columned El Castillo on Tulum’s highest cliff offering breathtaking views of the dark turquoise ocean below.

Pronounced SHELL-Ha, meaning “where the water is born,” this eco-park has been dubbed the world’s largest aquarium, with 22 natural acres of snorkeling, tubing, swimming with dolphins and other water adventures within a biologically abundant area of Mexico’s Riviera Maya, where freshwater underground rivers, caves and cenotes meet the salty sea in an enchanting lagoon.

Also in Riviera Maya, Cancún, the sprawling grounds of the 200-acre Xcaret (pronounced SHCA-ret) park host a wealth of ecological and archaeological attractions, including a nighttime musical show bringing the rich history of Mexico to life with more than 300 actors, colorful costumes, folklore and dancing. Or explore the underground rivers, beaches and natural pools of this seaside inlet.

Thrilling nature adventures await at this unique underground world, where you can fly on zip lines high through treetops, over suspension bridges and below ground to a cooling cenote; trek through Caribbean jungles on an unstoppable amphibious vehicle; or explore subterranean rivers, caverns and grottoes while swimming or rafting amid amazing stalactites and stalagmites.

About Hiten Patel

My wife and I visited Cancun on a bit of a whim. One day, she came home from work and just needed a beach getaway, so I hopped online and found some cheap flights and a beautiful resort. Well, five days later, we became proud owners of this vacation rental. In years that we do not use it, we rent it to people who have the same desire to escape to an ocean and cultural paradise!

My wife and I live in a suburb of Austin, Texas with our two sons, aged 17 and 15. We have lived all over the United States -- Texas, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois -- so we've had the chance to do a good amount of traveling. And we can honestly say that Cancun is one of our favorite destinations -- beautiful beaches, great weather, friendly people, good food, and great sightseeing.

An amazing vacation- would definitely recommend

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a 1 week vacation from December 31- January 7, 2017 at the Westin Lagunamar resort in a 2br unit with my family of 4. The resort was absolutely beautiful and the rooms were spacious and met all of our needs. The location is ideal, walking distance to the grocery store, restaurants and shopping. La Isla shopping mall is located right across the street! Vacationing with my 2 boys, the resort was a hit with mini golf, tennis courts, basketball courts, ping pong etc.. along with multiple pools and the quiet beach. Hiten was a pleasure to work with. He followed up to make sure our needs were met, offered great suggestions and the transacation was very easily handled. Thank you Hiten, our family had a fabulous time! Wouldn't hesitate to go back again!

Great week over New Year's!

  • 4 of 5

We spent the New Year's week at the Westin Lagunamar and had a great time. Despite some rather windy weather and rough waves, we enjoyed the beach and pool areas. Proximity to great local restaurants is excellent, especially those in the La Isla mall across the street. The property was very nice and well maintained. The restaurants were good, although service was generally slow, which isn't surprising given it was probably the busiest week of the year. It would be great if the property had a grill or something around the pool where you could pick up a quick bite rather than having to order through a waiter. Our concierge (Victoria) was great as well, very helpful and enthusiastic.

Booking through VRBO was excellent and the owner was very responsive and easy to deal with - we would definitely book through him again. No issues whatsoever with our booking process or coordination.
