Met our many needs
We were in the area to attend a wedding and chose to stay here as the price split was about equal to staying in a hotel and we are so glad we did. First, we were traveling with old dogs that need medication and this property kindly accepts dogs. Second, we were traveling with a three year old, what magic to be here by the river with all the amenities for a child, so much happier than cooped up at a hotel. My son-in-law brought his guitar and strummed on the porch in the cool night air. The cabin has everything one could want to make our stay comfortable and turned a wedding weekend into a mini-vacation. We will for sure return to do some hiking. Thank you for the opportunity to share your "little piece of the woods". Shout out to the agent, she was full of information and made our trip easy and stress free, calling to give directions and answer any questions.
The Musical Waters Mtn Cottage is a beautiful piece of property against the Spring Creek. The creek was singing loudly and the fish were biting! The interior of the cottage is quite roomy and comfortable. We had everything we needed to make any meal, except for charcoal for the grill. I would suggest adding a gas grill to the amenities. Also, bring your own drinking water, as this cottage water has a definite smell. (somewhat common with wells, I guess). The bed was comfortable once you climbed in. It was not easy for the vertically challenged. The mattress sits approx 3 ft above the floor on a wooden platform with storage drawers underneath. Probably not a soft landing if someone were to fall out. ;) It felt awkward. The outdoor decks were very spacious although, we spent most of our daylight time on the screened porch to avoid the bug hatch that was just beginning. My concern with the porch is that it was very dirty and the wasps were just waking up as well. I also believe that the space could be better utilized with a smaller table and comfortable outdoor furniture, rather than the picnic table. There is one light out there and the bulb was burned out, making it pitch black at night. Kinda creepy. A string of dim low voltage lights would help. All in all, our stay was restful and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed just hanging out and being slugs. And a side note, we had a good connection with our Sprint cell service.
Magical! I love that! So, Magical Musical Waters Cottage? Well, we will stick to Musical Waters and let guests discover the magic! Just what folks are looking for to unwind in the mountains; sound of water, fish biting, spacious outdoor areas to enjoy. Glad you enjoyed the thought to the layout of the cottage and amenities. As it is a cottage the platform beds make the most of the space, sorry about the bed height. Return soon and do share with us your fishing photos!
The property was as beautiful and relaxing as advertised. Would definitely visit again.
The house was cozy and comfortable. We spent time relaxing by the bubbling creek, fishing, and eating on the back deck. While the property was very close to town, it felt very secluded and private.
Everything we needed to stay the week was provided. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, the supply of towels and linens was generous, there was plenty of room for relaxing in the common areas.
My family and I enjoyed hiking, fishing, and shopping for antiques in Ashville. The local restaurants provided great food and service. We also spent a great day visiting Ashville Pinball Museum celebrating my son's 16th birthday. Overall, it was a great trip.
The only downside was that our cellular carrier did not work until we went all the way to Marshall and there was no wifi service at the property. While my 16 year old did not think he would survive, I kind of liked the family tome we had!
Thanks for choosing Musical Waters Cottage, glad you enjoyed the private setting with the sound of Spring Creek everywhere! Great fishing, relaxing firepit by the water, large screen porch and two open decks. Glad you enjoyed the 'unplugged' family time. Most cell carriers do work, Verizon & Sprint always works and ATT never works. Return soon!
Unplugged and enjoyed our quiet New Years with family and friends. Hiked around the property, watched the river freeze and the snow fall, went into town for friendly dinners and shopping and hot springs soaks! What could be better?
Thanks for sharing with future guests how relaxing it is to be 'unplugged' from internet. How wonderful it is to have the distraction of the sound of water, snow falling and fire logs flickering. Return for a different season at Musical Waters and a change of 'unplugged' scenery.
We spent Christmas week at the lovely Musical waters cabin. It is well stocked and comfortable inside. Melanie was very proactive and easy to contact with questions. Loved our stay and would love to stay again. My only negative comment is that the beds are very hard, made a good night's sleep very difficult. Overall a wonderful stay though!
Merry Christmas! Glad you and your family had a memorable Christmas holiday at Musical Waters. It is high praise indeed when a property meets all your expectations for this special family time. Sorry the beds didn't meet your expectations, other guests have review the beds as great! It really depends on the person, thanks for your feedback, we will check into your suggestion. Return soon!
Thanksgiving and anniversary in the woods...
Musical Waters was the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We loved sitting by the fire pit watching our son fly fish and listening to the serene sound of the flowing waters. The cottage offered all the comforts of home. Melanie has thought of everything to make your stay memorable.
Wow! You painted a Norman Rockwell picture with your high praise review! Return soon and continue to enjoy watching your son fly fish as you relax by the fire with musical waters flowing as backdrop!
As you walk about town you are hiking the Appalachain Trail where the French Broad River meets the trail. Hot Springs was listed as 'Best small mountain town in the South' by Blue Ridge magazine. Many hiking trails, natural mineral baths, downhome restaurants, local music and arts, seasonal festivals and friendly folks.
