About Stephen & Jeanette Travis

Stephen is retired military helicopter pilot, barber, glazer, truck driver. Jeanette is retired Insurance Producer. We are so happy to have this property right next door on our spacious 4.5 acres. We offer farm fresh eggs (when our 'ladies' are in production). We desire to honor our Lord & Savior by providing a tranquil & clean cottage for guests to relax & enjoy. We are enjoying our retirement with gardening, family & our little mini farm.

Stephen & Jeanette Travis purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Stephen & Jeanette Travis chose Oregon

Love of outdoors, rural setting & horses. Home was originally built in 1927 as garage to main farmhouse then converted to living quarters in 1950`s. Newly remodeled & furnished 2014.

What makes this cottage unique

Quiet, peaceful retreat where you can watch horses grazing, enjoy the country air, panoramic view with farm setting. Gorgeous stair railing made from cedar tree our son-in-law cut with his sawmill. Newly refinished wood floor upstairs. All new kitchen. Use our bicycles & explore The Greenway from Ashland to Central Point. Try zip lining at Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure, or rafting the Rogue River. Enjoy Ashland's Shakespear Festival & Jacksonville's Brit Festival.

Peaceful and Modest

  • 3 of 5

Was greeted by Jeannette with a handful of canned Peaches along with some Farm fresh Eggs to welcome my arrival. Very warm, inviting, and kind. The property has plenty of parking on a gravel road/driveway with one covered open garage. Sits next to a large horse grazing area overlooking the distant hills that brings the morning sun to greet your day with 3 Horses, 6 Sheep, some Canadian Geese, 2 dogs and plenty of birds that brings this tiny cottage to life. Clean, 2 bed (one downstairs and one upstairs), up-scaled kitchen, one small bathroom/shower, works for two people. Away from all the hoopla but than again, this is Rogue Valley area in Southern Oregon where lots of Wine Vineyards are located and only a 2 plus hour drive to Crater Lake. Medford is a 5-8 min drive to all the stores, restaurants, that you would need. Our trip was for a Country Fest so the balance of peace from this property was so awesome. Close but far enough to the main roads. Stephen helped us get to a place called Bella Union Restaurant in Jacksonville for dinner. Oh my, excellent food and location amongst the beautiful 10 min drive along all the manicured Vineyards, one we past was Dancin Vineyard. So beautiful, unfortunately they were closed by the time we could visit. Historic town within walking distance to all the quaint stores a must see to visit. If you need a girlie getaway, couples time alone, downtime away from all the hustle and bustle that is set in a very quiet, away from it all place to lay your head, contact Farmhouse Cottage. You will be greeted like family but have the peace and privacy you need. Thank you Jeannette and Stephen!!! Hugs to Reba, Kallie and the furry kids.

Wonderful place and hosts....very relaxing and quiet....just minutes away from the crowds of Ashland....based upon their recommendation, we tried the Hellgate boat ride in Grants Pass - very enjoyable....Five stars all around!

Feels like home but quieter

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at the cottage and we felt relaxed the minute we arrived. The setting is beautiful with open space and gorgeous views on all sides. The cottage contains everything you need and is low-key but very comfortable!! Jeanette and Steve are available and will help with anything else you might need or any problem that might arise. Though they are there and are warm, fun and friendly, they are quiet and unintrusive. The drive to Ashland takes 9 minutes and is pleasant. It is great fun to be around the farm and see the animals.
