About Stephen & Jeanette Travis

Stephen is retired military helicopter pilot, barber, glazer, truck driver. Jeanette is retired Insurance Producer. We are so happy to have this property right next door on our spacious 4.5 acres. We offer farm fresh eggs (when our 'ladies' are in production). We desire to honor our Lord & Savior by providing a tranquil & clean cottage for guests to relax & enjoy. We are enjoying our retirement with gardening, family & our little mini farm.

Stephen & Jeanette Travis purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Stephen & Jeanette Travis chose Phoenix

Love of outdoors, rural setting & horses. Home was originally built in 1927 as garage to main farmhouse then converted to living quarters in 1950`s. Newly remodeled & furnished 2014.

What makes this cottage unique

Quiet, peaceful retreat where you can watch horses grazing, enjoy the country air, panoramic view with farm setting. Gorgeous stair railing made from cedar tree our son-in-law cut with his sawmill. Newly refinished wood floor upstairs. All new kitchen. Use our bicycles & explore The Greenway from Ashland to Central Point. Try zip lining at Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventure, or rafting the Rogue River. Enjoy Ashland's Shakespear Festival & Jacksonville's Brit Festival.

Relaxing Getaway in Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Jeanette was great from the beginning sending plenty of information before hand and being extremely accommodating by allowing us to move our reserved dates to a different weekend due to a conflict. While we did not meet our hosts due to our adventuring around the area, they seem like warm welcoming people and invite guests to come knock on the door and say hello. Next time!

The cottage is very cozy with a well stocked kitchen and guest amenities. There were even farm fresh eggs! The views from the living room and upper floor are spectacular looking out over the field with horses and sheep grazing and the hills in the background. While there was only two of us, the cottage felt like it could comfortably accommodate a family of four or two couples.

Ashland was an easy 10 minute drive down the road without having to get on the freeway which made it easy to head into for the day or dinner. We were also able to take a day trip over to Crater Lake with about an hour and a half drive both ways.

I would recommend this place to family and friends and if we end up in the Ashland area again, we would stay at the Cottage.

Lovely, close to Ashland, but away from the frenzy

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely cottage, 5 miles from Ashland, you can spend the day poking about in town, and have a nice 2 BR place at night, perfect for 2 couples. Would rent again in a heartbeat!

PERFECT

  • 5 of 5

We booked the cottage on short notice and the communication was outstanding. Jeanette responded immediately, the 1 hour promise on the VRBO page is no exaggeration.

The property is very claean and everything was as described. We spent five day in this beautiful quiet location. The kids had lots of fun with the horses and all the other animals. Collecting chicken eggs was their daily highlight.

Stephen and Jeanette are wonderful hosts. The kids loved them and we enjoyed talking to them a lot. They were always helpful and caring whenever we asked for their assistance.

We can recommend the cottage for anyone who is looking for an quiet country retreat or who just wants to stay in the area and does not want to sta at a hotel.

Thank you so much Stephen and Jeanette for the wonderful stay.

Loved the Farmhouse Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My mom, sister and I stayed at the Farmhouse Cottage for 3 nights and enjoyed the quiet solitude and country setting. The cottage was clean and perfect for the three of us. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was great. Stephen and Jeanette were there in case we had any questions but respected our privacy. They are a super nice couple!

The property is close to Ashland and Medford and not too far from the historical town of Jacksonville.

We recommend the cottage to anyone! It's small but we did not feel it was too small for the three of us.

Thanks Stephen and Jeanette for providing a lovely place for us to stay!!
