Upon entering you will find the first of three bedrooms. This room includes 2 twin beds, a TV, and private bath. Next the hallway opens onto an open floor plan and magnificent ocean views. The attractive décor includes comfortable furnishings, a large flat screen TV, dining table seating 6, and a large kitchen with breakfast area seating 4. Off this lovely living space are 2 oceanfront bedrooms. The master includes a king size bed, TV, large private bath, and sliding doors opening onto the balcony. The queen bedroom also has a private bath, TV, and sliding door opening to the balcony. New tile floors add to the beach feel of the villa. Great Location, very unclean, very outdated and very uncomfortable furnishings

This condo has great potential but sadly is in great need of attention. The mirrors, doors, floors, walls, kitchen cabinets, windows, outdoor balcony floor and furniture didn't look like they'd been cleaned in a very long time. The linens however were fresh and clean. This was a last minute 2 night surprise trip to the beach for my husband's birthday. The uncleanliness was so apparent the minute we arrived after dark that I took photos to document it. I did not call the property manager because it was only the 2 of us for 2 nights and I didn't want our very short stay interrupted with a disgruntled cleaning staff. Immediately checking the linens for cleanliness, we opted to stay. Had we booked this stay for longer, I would have immediately called for cleaning. The outdoor chairs were so filthy that we had to cover them with towels be able to sit outside. The glass doors and windows were so dirty the beautiful view was obstructed in all 3 front rooms. We slept in the master night one and the mattress was so lumpy and uncomfortable that we tried the other front bedroom for night 2 only to find that this mattress was like sleeping on 2x4's it was so hard. The sofa, not sure it was a true living room sofa as it was like foam....too uncomfortable to use. This unit has location, location, location but is so outdated, not properly furnished and dirty that it was extremely overpriced. We don't mind paying good money for comfortable and at the very least reasonably nice furnishings but this unit has neither. When we first went outside for coffee the first morning, the furniture was filthy, the outdoor carpet was covered with hair and dirt, nothing had been cleaned for new arriving guests. We travel a great deal and have never had an experience like this unit provided with the uncleanliness and horribly uncomfortable mattresses and furnishings. In Fairness, the dining room table and chairs were in good condition but there was dried food (I hope) in several areas on the dining table. Had we'd taken any of our children or grandchildren along, we would NOT have stayed there. I am happy to send you the photos I took upon arrival to show the proof of the uncleanliness of this unit. With the needed improvements satisfied, we would stay here again but only if cleaned and comfortable mattresses and furnishings were provided. Thank You, Terri Thomas

Location Terrific-Condo Ammenities Lacking

We loved the location, but the three bedroom condo was lacking some of the basics that you would expect in this price range. None of the hair driers attached to the wall in the bathrooms work. (or maybe the hair driers work, but the outlets do not!) I left a pink hair drier in the master bathroom for the next occupants. You have to manually hold down one side of the 4 slice toaster, and the coffee pot stopped working the day before we left. The living room furniture was not comfortable, and there were not enough seats for six of us to watch a movie in the evening. (luckily we were outside most of the time)

Loved the location!

The condo was a great location to the beach and the pool. It did need some updating as the furniture was old and uncomfortable. Several lamps without bulbs and none to replace them. A vaccuum cleaner would be nice. Items that need to be replaced:

Dishes and coffe cups

The property as you enter the front door is carpet and it was soaking wet past the elevator which made you track water into the condo and made it unsafe to walk. The property management company needs to take better care of the property.

Southern Charm-Less

This property is in a category all its own. To begin:

o We arrived around 11:30PM after a long flight & it was difficult to fine the place. Pitch black. Parked the car in front of a 4 story bldg & wandered around until we finally located an elevator in a hidden corner of a covered parking area. No signs & no prior info from the Property Mgr.

o Opening from door to condo we were met with a stale, musty odor. Suspiciously like mold.

o Furnishings either original circa 1970's or garage sale buys.

o Next treat was the balcony patio. Previous tenant had sprayed "Silly String" from the patio ceiling to the floor. It resembled 8 foot long cob webs. And, may I say, not easy to remove.

o Our two guests (who flew in from Sweden) went into their bedroom and quickly came out. They were concerned about the dirty floors. We all were careful to wear shoes while in the condo for remainder of week.

o On Day Two a Public Notice from the Water & Sewer Commission was left on the door informing us that the water would be turned off from 10AM to 2PM the following day AND that following that we would need to boil our water for 24HOURS. Not what one expects for a costly 5 day rental. I called the Property Mgmnt. Office & initially was met with response that the water was not their responsibility. The Property Mgmnt. Manager did call back & delivered a container of ice and bottled water. We couldn't shower with the bottled water, but it was a gesture.

o Misc. items: One box of tissue to be shared in 3 bathrooms. Previous tenants' sheets left in the dryer. Burned out lights. Really dirty electric stove top. More cleaning for us.

o To be fair, the view was exceptional and the proximity to beach was very nice. The beds were also comfortable.

o Overall, it was not my idea of Southern Charm, but it was one trip none of us will ever forget.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback, Sonja. We apologize that your time in this property did not meet our standards and expectations. We try to include as much helpful information as we can in our arrival instructions email that is sent out prior to check-in, and we have made some extra adjustments to ensure arriving to the unit is as easy and safe as possible. We have also made suggestions of updating the furniture to the homeowner. We were disappointed to learn that we were not given prior notice about the water being shut off. We immediately brought bottled water and ice to help ease the inconvenience of the maintenance. Clearly, there was a breakdown in communication notifying all of the owners and property managers regarding the water outage, and we have since updated and confirmed our contact information to keep this from happening again. In regards to the cleanliness of the unit, if at any time a guest feels something is unsatisfactory, we are happy to clean the unit again or discuss other options like moving properties. We would love a chance to host you again. We value all of our guests and strive for 100% guest satisfaction.

A condo with it all

What a beautifully furnished condominium with amazing ocean views and easy beach access. This is our familiy's third year at Wild Dunes, but the Summerhouse is by far the best location and accommodations for the money. Beach accessibility from the deck was ideal for our family. Sweetgrass was very responsive. There was a bunch of ants biting us on the steps and walkway. Sweet grass dropped off ant spray. When notified that the lock code was malfunctioning it was repaired the next day. The condominium had everything we needed to fully enjoy our week at the beach. The only improvement we could suggest would be tall tables and chairs on the deck to be able to see the ocean over the railway.

Just arrived at this beautiful villa and never want to leave!

I just arrived at this beautiful villa and never want to go back to the cold! Corner location makes the most of sweeping views up and down the beach. It's so easy to access the beach from the back steps. Waking up to the blue ocean and sky is the best part. Can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy the oceanfront pool.

The Isle of Palms consists of 5 miles of beach and the northern tip ends at Wild Dunes Resort. It is very close to Sullivan's Island, and Mt. Pleasant, and is only 15 miles to downtown Charleston. There are many activities very close to enjoy- sight seeing, restaurants, golf, tennis, water sports, jet skiing, boat rentals, Isle of Palms Marina, and Isle of Palms Recreation Center. The Harris Teeter sits right beside the Isle of Palms Connector for your grocery needs. The Isle of Palms front beach is also a great choice for restaurants and souvenirs.
