About Alexandra Eder

Corvallis has been my home for most or my adult life.

Remodeling and decorating has always brought me joy.

Fenwood Circle had been a student rental for years before I purchased it in 2006.

Remodeling Fernwood has been great fun.

Now that the property has been transformed I am enjoying hosting business travelers and families visiting the Oregon State campus.

Alexandra Eder purchased this bed and breakfast in 2006

Why Alexandra Eder chose Willamette Valley

After renovating the property since 2006, I noticed a need for alternative lodging. We are approved by the City of Corvallis as an alternative lodging property. When folks seek an alternative lodging option to a hotel they enjoy one of our guest rooms. The Fernwood Circle Guest House offers a home-like place to stay for business travelers and families visiting their Oregon State students.

What makes this bed and breakfast unique

Fernwood Circle is located in a quiet neighborhood near the bus line, we have rain ready bicycles with water-proof saddle bags for folks seeking to avoid the parking challenges on the OSU campus.

We provide organic products for a self-serve Continental breakfast and offer a private and quite home-like setting. Organic smoothie ingredients and protein powder are also available.

Evening Refreshments:

Enjoy a organic tea, Oregon wines, local cider and beer when you come home to Fernwood Circle, your home away from home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fernwood Circle Website guest review:

From the moment I entered Alexandra's home until the moment I checked out, every single thing I could need or want was taken care of. Fernwood is centrally located. It is a few minutes to great restaurants, shopping and the University. Alexandra's home was so calm, comfy and inviting. It was quiet, clean and impeccably organized. Her kitchen was perfectly stocked and accessible, the network and television worked without issues and my room was filled with wonderful grapefruit/ginger organic products. The bed in the Sage Room was so comfortable I spent a few extra hours in it reading on a rainy Corvallis morning. But the real pleasure was Alexandra herself. She was a gracious and attentive host who made me feel that I was visiting a dear friend. I had been on the road for 6 weeks when I arrived at Fernwood Circle House. My stay allowed me to rest and rejuvenate. If I ever return to Corvalis, this is where I will stay!

A perfect place

  • 5 of 5

I have just ended a two week stay at Fernwood Circle for the second year in a row. It is quiet, well appointed, very well maintained, and close to town.

Alexandra is a wonderful and thoughtful host.

I'll be staying here again later this year.

My daughter plays college soccer, and I needed a place to call home on this 2 game, 4 day road trip from Texas to Oregon. Staying in a boring hotel just didn't excite me, so I turned to VRBO. Another player's dad and I decided to experience Fernwood Circle Guesthouse mainly because it aprovided us a living room, kitchen and separate bedrooms. Alexandra communicated very well with us prior to our arrival, and once we arrived, she was absolutely wonderful and gracious in welcoming us. Immediately, we were impressed with the beauty and cleanliness of the Guesthouse! The bedrooms were exactly as they appeared in the pictures, and overall, the house was even nicer than the pictures showed! During our 3 night stay, Alexandra went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and to extend us several small touches that showed us that she appreciated us. She was also extremely helpful in giving us suggestions on places to go, routes, restaurants, wineries, brew houses, you name it! We loved seeing the family of deer one evening and the next morning in the yard! How much did you pay them to do that! ;) If I ever make it to Oregon in the future, I will absolutely stay here again! I can't recommend the Fernwood Circle Guesthouse enough! Thank you Alexandra for such a perfect stay!

Heaven Sent

  • 5 of 5

I came to Fernwood Circle Guesthouse on the last night of a month long journey and I was frazzled, weary, and hungry. All of the places I called from the road were either full or charging ridiculous prices. I finally threw up my hands and asked my angels to find me a place to rest. That led me to leave a message for Alexandra and I heard back in a few moments that she had a room with a private bath. What a lovely room and guesthouse! I was sorry I was only there for one night. Everything was set up perfectly. I could tell Alexandra carefully thought out every detail to make it a pleasant experience. For example, there was a small bowl on the bedside table for jewelry or change where I placed my earrings before sleep. That bowl was set in my direct line of vision near the door, so I didn't worry about leaving my earrings behind when I checked out. There was even a large towel to drape over the TV and electronics to make the room peacefully dark at night. The well stocked kitchen and living room are organized, clean and artfully designed. Everything is set up so you can be alone or with friends and family, experiencing a peaceful sense of home. Alexandra was available to share information on Corvalis, the community, restaurants, activities, maps, biking and more. She provided a concierge app for online search of the local area. I truly felt like a guest more than a customer and look forward to returning soon.

Three days of stay at Fernwood Circle Guesthouse

  • 5 of 5

I was at Fernwood Circle Guesthouse for three days back in May. The owner, Alxandra, is a considerate person and maintains a very clean beautiful place on a very quiet street. I had reserved the "Treetop Corner" room, which had its own private bathroom. I really enjoyed how quiet and clean the place was, and I had secure access to my room via a number keypad. A big bonus was that there was a well-equipped very clean kitchen where I could store or cook the food for my three days of stay there so I wouldn't have to eat out. I was there for a visit to OSU, and the place is within 20 minutes of walking distance to the OSU campus, which is important, since finding a parking spot could be difficult around the campus. There was a large living room with a balcony that opened up to a nice view, too. I didn't use the living room area, but it's there and very comfortable for unwinding. My room had a TV, too. I didn't use the TV, but I used the wireless access for connecting to the web.

Fernwood Circle Guest House is a very comfortable place to stay for any length of time. The answers to any questions a guest would have are visually evident, thus making our time carefree. Owner Alexandra is a savvy hostess. She knows what people of all ages would want. She truly cares about Corvallis and is very knowledgeable about it and the region. Thank you for a great stay!!!

Delightful place for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We rented the entire house. Our extended family group of nine adults was comfortable here for four days. The kitchen is modern and well-stocked. There was a good supply of hot water for showering. By using the deck we had plenty of seating for meals, even when 10 additional guests were present. Parents of toddlers need to be vigilant as there are many stairs and the deck is off the second floor level. We enjoyed the quirky art on the walls. We were pleased to sort our own trash for recycling. The grounds are lovely. Parking is adequate and the neighborhood is quiet. The location is an easy drive to the 9th & Circle business area as well as the Willamette River walkway downtown. We had good communication with the owner and she went out of her way to accommodate us. I would recommend this property.
