It has an open floor plan with an updated kitchen and see through fireplace between the family and dining rooms. Major accommodations include two oceanfront master bedrooms: one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. Both bedrooms have private access to decks overlooking Fripp's gorgeous beach and ocean. There is also a third bedroom upstairs with one queen bed and one twin bed that works perfectly for kids. Downstairs is a roomy bedroom that's doubles either as a retreat for older kids or for a couple looking for some privacy. The downstairs bedroom includes a queen and a twin bed along with a full bath. You'll be captivated by the spectacular ocean front views from the floor to ceiling windows lining the walls of the family room, dining room and master bedrooms. A distinctive hallmark of the house is the screened porch with rocking chairs that offer a serene outdoor escape perfect for days and nights alike. So, get ready to share an honest laugh echoed with the rumble of waves crashing against the sand and Fripp out!
Fripp Island is 3 1/2 miles long ensuring that all amenities are close. Paved biycle, skating or jogging trails traverse the island. Wildlife is abundant. Deer, racoons, herons, egrets, ospreys and alligators are common sights. Loggerhead turtles lay many nests on Fripp each year. Nature centers on Fripp and nearby Hunting Island provide hours of enjoyable activities on the beaches, in the forests or marshes. Once you arrive, park the car and rent a golf cart for island transportation.
There are two golf courses located on Fripp. Ocean Creek Golf Course was designed by 1997 PGA Champion Davis Love, III (par 71, 6629 yards) and has won honors from Golf Magazine and The Golfer. Ocean Point Golf Links was designed by George W. Cobb (par71, 6556 yards) and is a links-style course where the land meets the sea. South Carolina National Golf Club is on nearby Cat Island and can also be accessed by our guests.
There is Camp Fripp for the kids to get away from their parents for a couple of hours during the day and to take in other activities, meet other kids and give mom and dad a chance to relax.
Hollywood had discovered Fripp Island to be fascinating as well. The Ocean Creek and Tidal Marsh areas of Fripp were used as film sets for both Forrest Gump and Disney's The Jungle Book!
We encourage all renters to stop at the grocery stores in Beaufort or right outside of Beaufort on 21 to get all of the supplies that you will need for your stay. We usually prefer to stop at the Publix on 21 right outside of Beaufort. These supplies should include paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent and soap. There are a few beach chairs but it would be advisable to bring some from home as well. Some other beach items that you may want to bring include a beach umbrella, a cooler, beach towels, and sunscreen.

There is a beautiful new updated kitchen and couches. A wonderful experience!
Everything was absolutely perfect and well maintained. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and enjoy Fripp!
We wanted a house directly on the beach with beach access all day (we previously stayed in another home on Fripp that lost the beach during high tide). This home was right on the ocean and we were able to stay in front of the house all day and when we were sitting out on the beach for evening cocktails. The AC was broken but the owner had it fixed as quickly as possible and brought us a fan in the meantime. The screened in porch was so nice and kept the bugs away so we could sit there and read for hours.
We got to spend a week in this beach house in July of 2014, and it was a delight! The house was clean, well-stocked and comfortable. By far, our favorite room was the screened-in porch as we spent most of our time in the house there.
I would happily recommend this house to VRBO users!
Great beach house!
We had a wonderful long weekend vacation ending April 27, 2014. If you can find time to stay at this house, jump on it. It has everything you need. Screened in porch is awesome, kitchen fully stocked with all you need, tvs in every bedroom as well as in the family room, grill worked perfectly, beach view was wonderful. Deer wander around like dogs. Very cool! Owner stopped by to say hi and was really nice. Don't look beyond this one!!! On second thought, don't...we want it again this summer!
We stayed in this beach house a few years ago and were disappointed that the house is showing a lot of wear. We were not supplied toilet tissue or paper towels and considering the nearest grocery is 30 minutes away this was a big inconvenience. The screened porch was great with a breeze and view of the beach, but it was extremely sandy when we arrived. There was food left in the fridge and laundry in washer and dryer. Just not what we expected to find after driving all day to arrive and paying what we did to rent the house.
we will definitely check on the house. The same person that is cleaning this summer is the same person for the last many years. I don't know why this clean would have been any different than the last 5 years but we will certainly check on things.
Thank you for sharing the information
Great Location, Nice House, but Terrible Owner
My family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) spent a week at this home in May 2013. This was our 3rd family beach week to Fripp, and our first time to stay at a home on the water. We absolutely loved the location and will try to stay on the beach again this year, just not at this house. Overall the house was nice, though the furnishing, carpet, etc. are showing some wear. When we learned that the owner also lived at Fripp, we thought that would be an asset during our stay, especially if we encountered any problems. On arrival, we did discover that the cable system that operated both the TV and the phones was out. We contacted the owner, and he was unwilling to spend time "on hold" on the phone trying to reach the cable company. My husband ended up having to call the cable company from his cell phone and trying to arrange for a technician! Then, we discovered on our 2nd day that the grill was not operating properly. This was a real issue because we had brought food from home and planned to grill 5 of our dinners during the week. Again, we contacted the owner, and he acted as if we were bothering him, and he was not eager to fix the grill problem. He even cursed at my husband over the phone and hung up on him! My family has stayed at rental beach homes in several locations for over a decade - we had never encountered an owner or property manager like this before! We were not unreasonable, but we did expect the amenities for which we were paying to work or at least for the person responsible to make every effort to fix any problems promptly. This was our VACATION, and having to deal with this owner soured our experience!
As owners since 2001 approximately 2/3's of our renters are repeat guests each year. Our experience with these renters has been extremely positive and we have worked diligently to accommodate our guests in any way that we can. We enjoy sharing our guest's rental experiences with them and many of them have become friends and acquaintances. We have never had a situation where we would not want to rent to a party again, but in this case we definitely would not want them as our guests. Our contact information is available on this site. Should you wish to have more information please don't hesitate to contact us.
