Our property is very conveniently located in a central, quiet and safe residential neighbourhood of South Cambie on the Westside of Vancouver BC. It is an ideal location for business and leisure travelers. There are many amenities within minutes of walking:

• Cambie Village (5 min.) - independent shops, banks, cafes and specialty restaurants, and a movie theater

• World famous Queen Elizabeth Park (5 min.) - viewpoint, gardens and picnic areas, tennis courts, pitch & put, frisbee golf and Seasons in the Park restaurant

• Hillcrest Community Centre (10 min.) - Vancouver’s best indoor & outdoor swimming pools, skating rinks, gym, library & more

• Nat Bailey Stadium (10 min.) – is home of the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest Baseball League in the summer and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the spring.

• South of Main (SOMA) Village (10 min.) - many vintage & designer boutiques, antique stores, eateries and specialty restaurants

• Major hospitals and healthcare centres (10-15 min.) - BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, BC Cancer Agency and more

Built in 2014, our deluxe contemporary garden level suite is very bright with south facing floor to ceiling windows and 9 foot ceilings. Approximately 500 sq. ft., it is a perfect space to accommodate two people for a short or long stay, whether on business or vacation. This suite has a separate entrance from the front yard of the house with a private sunken patio. It is fully equipped with all modern living conveniences and high quality furnishings throughout including:

• Complete Kitchen: rift-cut white oak cabinetry, Caesarstone quartz countertop, cooking range with oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, sink with garbage disposer, coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle, pots & pans, utensils and more

• Dishes, glasses and flatware

• Comfortable sofa with lounger and ottoman

• Flat screen 46” TV with cable

• Bose stereo system with radio, CD and DVD player

• Wireless Internet access

• Eating bar

• Queen size bed with Beautyrest mattress

There are four (4) separate living units within our property. For everyone’s health and comfort, our property is a smoke free environment. Smoking is not permitted in the suite or anywhere within the property. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate pets due to allergies.

We are retired professional couple and long-time residents of Metro Vancouver. We’ve raised our two daughters in Richmond and now, we, our daughters and four grandchildren reside in the Westside of Vancouver.

Why Richard The chose Vancouver

We bought this property in 2009 because of its ideal location as one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Vancouver, BC. It is a central, quiet and safe neighbourhood with many amenities within walking distance. As well, with Canada Line King Edward train station only 4 minutes walk, we can reach most of Vancouver major sites and YVR in less than 20 minutes.

What makes this apartment unique

In 2012, we built a self-contained laneway house (a separate building) on the rear of the property facing the lane.

In July 2014, we completed the building of our new main house with three separate living units, including the garden suite. These contemporary living units have private entrances and sound barriers. For maximum comfort, this house has two separate mechanical systems including 2 boilers for in-floor radiant heating and 2 large indirect hot water tanks and 2 HRV with air filtration systems.

Perfect location, clean and comfortable

Beautiful, clean peaceful rental in an excellent location. Easy to give 5/5 stars. Everything you need is in this rental along with some added goodies provided by the host. Would stay here again for sure. The only thing I would mention would be that we found the bed a bit hard and it would have been nice to have some hooks in the bathroom but really these are very minor inconveniences. A great place to stay!

Comfortable space, no need for a car

Stayed for 3 nights after finishing an Alaskan cruise. We would up taking a cab from the port to the place, and later from the place to the airport, but that says more about our inability to juggle our luggage than the proximity to public transportation. We had no need for a car the rest of our visit.

Pros:

*Within walking distance to King Edward stop, Queen Elizabeth Park (which gets larger and prettier the further up you go), Cambie Village (so many opportunities for authentic Asian food!), Main Street (the opposite direction of Cambie; we didn't realize how close it was and didn't have as much time to explore, but I totally dug the record shop and thrift stores).

*As others have mentioned, Richard was very kind in person and left us a few treats, which was nice on mornings/nights that we didn't feel like venturing out. He also provided a plethora of info on the surrounding area, including helpful hints on areas of interest at nearby Skytrain stops, how many zones it takes to get places, etc. Very useful!

*The washer/dryer is a big plus.

*The surrounding area is cute as a button. We did a few walks around the block just to enjoy the architecture/yards.

*The locking system was very cool. Was nice to not worry about a key and the code was easily memorable.

Cons

*The only thing I can possibly think is that it might get a little warm over the summer? (Fans are provided though, so may not be an issue)

All in all, really enjoyed our stay and if we come again, we'd love to pay a return visit.

Excellent apartment perfect for exploring Vancouver City

Five star accommodation in the suburbs of Vancouver but so close to a Skytrain Station you do not need a car to get around.

The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with the owner nearby for additional friendly advice.

A great city with lots to do but allow yourself time for a visit to Granville Island and a cycle around Stanley Park both great places.

In addition Main St a short walk away from apartment is well worth a visit interesting shops and cafes. Our stay was too short!

Perfect in so many ways.

Richard's property was perfect for my 2 night stay. It was very nicely appointed with absolutely everything needed to make for a comfortable stay. There were also nice little personal touches like a little loaf of banana bread with a welcoming note. I happened to drive to Van this time and had no need for using my truck while there due to the ease of Skytrain access due to King Edward Station on Canada Line being a block and a half away. That same access also makes this an attractive location for anybody flying into YVR. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Perfect base

The apartment was beautifully presented, very clean and everything needed had been provided - there was even some milk, fruit, biscuits and banana break to welcome us after our 9.5 hour flight from the UK. The apartment was less than a 5 minute walk from King Edward underground station on a quiet residential road. The station provided a direct link to the airport and all of Vancouver, including the Waterfront, Yaletown (to visit Granville Island) and Canada Place for sea planes, buses to Capilano suspension bridge and Grouse Mountain.

Home away from home

This is such a delightful place to stay both for the internal appointments and the superb location. The hosts are accomodating and available but never intrusive. We will be back!
