Villa Giuseppina Gaglio Gemmellaro was built in 1892 by the volcanologist Gaetano Giorgio Gemmellaro and the property still belongs to the same family.
It is an ancient mansion just a few minutes walk from the historic center, surrounded by an ancient peaceful garden of 3000m2 with centuries-old trees, Mediterranean vegetation and dry stone walls.
The house, both for its thick walls and because it is surrounded by greenery, is cool and breezy. From the main road you can get there by climbing stairs (first a series of 21 steps 7x3) then along an avenue that climbs between lemons, jacaranda and jasmine (1 or 2 steps every 3-4 meters).
On the main floor the rooms are large with high vaulted ceilings, furnished in an elegant and comfortable style:
- On the front: 1 double bedroom, a living room, a dining room, a panoramic terrace overlooking Taormina, the sea and the Greek theater.
- On the back: 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom (or double if necessary), 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a terrace with breakfast area and barbecue.
On the ground floor; 1 large panoramic terrace around an ancient well overlooking the old roofs of Taormina, the sea and the Greek theater.
There is no swimming pool. Taormina there are many beaches (free or shores): Isola Bella, Mazzaro, Naxos, Spisone, Capo Sant'Alessio.
To park you need to use the Lumbi public parking (Porta Messina side): about 72 euros / week.
