Minimum Stay 4 nights

Overview

About the property

Farm house located in the middle of 200 acres ready to explore.

Farm house located in the middle of 200 acres ready to explore. Home is updated and has 4 bedrooms. 2 car open carport. We also have another listing (VRBO#789472) that is located on the same farm.

Canoeing. The property is 5-miles from Big Piney Creek and Rushing Road bridge. Big Piney Creek is a major canoeing destination in Arkansas. Moore Outdoors is a popular canoe rental for the Big Piney. Google Moore Outdoors to find their website. Property is also approximately 1 hour drive to Buffalo River.

ATV Trail Riding. Approximately 15 miles north on Scenic Hwy 7 is the Mocassin Gap ATV Trail. Trails are well marked and easy to find. There are several waterfalls and pretty creek crossing. Brock Creek ATV trail is approximately 30-miles away. Brock Creek would be more advanced trails and the markings are not quite as good.

Fishing. Lots of fishing options available in the area. There are stocked ponds available on the property that are available to fish. In addition, fishing the Big Piney Creek is very popular (twin bridges to Rushing Road leg of creek can be relaxing fishing/canoe ride). Lastly, Lake Dardanelle State Park, which is nationally known for its excellent bass fishing is a 12-mile drive from Dover, AR.

Hunting. Quail hunts are available to arrange for $5 a bird and $50 for a guide and dog. There are also a lot of deer on the property. If you are a bow hunter, we make exceptions for deer hunting under the right circumstances. Property is within 2 miles of the National Forrest.

Motorcycles: Perfect launching point for motorcycle riders wanting to explore the Ozark Mountains. Nice launching point to the following destinations: Jasper, AR, Hot Sprints, Mount Nebo, Mount Magazine.

Swimming: The best swimming hole in Arkansas is located at Long Pool that has large rocks to jump off (anywhere between 8 to 12 foot drop) that kids absolutely go bonkers over. Long Pool State Park has $3 for parking and you need exact cash as it is self service. Bring a flotation device as you need to swim creek to get over to the rocks.

Hiking: Close to the following hiking trails: Pedestal Rock (hike below bluff line to see all the caves), Glory Hole (waterfall flowing into cave), Alum Cove Natural Bridge (caves), Long Pool State Park (waterfalls), Whitaker Point (best site for picture in Arkansas to memorialize your trip).

Closest Town: Dover, AR is approximately 5-miles away. Access to grocery store and restaurants available in Dover.

About Charles Dale

I grew up on this farm. My parents still live on the farm and help out with guests. I currently live in Dallas, TX working as a commercial banker. We hope others are able to enjoy this area as much as us.

Charles Dale purchased this house in 2014

Why Charles Dale chose Arkansas

This property was my grandfather's old house. I purchased it from my uncle in 2014. The home was built in the 1960s and is in great shape. We have decorated with old tools that were used on the farm to give our guests a real sense of the history of the place.

AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures here do not even begin to show the beauty of this property and home. I'm not sure where to start, so I'll start in the beginning. We chose this location because of the great parking options. 2 couples meeting here for a week, both couples hauling jeeps on car haulers. We needed lots of parking for 2 car haulers, two trucks and 2 jeeps. This place offered that and more. Upon arrival, LaWanda stopped by and delivered us some fresh blackberries, introduced herself and welcomed us to the farm. This is near some great trails in the National Forest. While our visit was absolutely amazing, our bonus was the Dale Family. LaWanda and Robert are nearby and are just beautiful folks. They have another VRBO home that LaWanda gave us girls the grand tour. Both VRBO homes have been in this family for many years. The history, decorating, charm and character are something anyone can appreciate. The home we stayed in is owned by LaWanda and Robert's son. He lives out of state so we unfortunately didn't get to meet him, but he called and left a message making sure all was ok. Ok? My goodness, it was PERFECT! Watching the deer hang out, meeting Dollie the dog and rubbing her belly, enjoying the peaceful sunsets, watching the hummingbirds in the beautiful mimosa tree, sitting out on the custom deck and grilling steaks, the girls getting the tour of their family home, the guys getting the tour of the quail set ups. Having access to the catfish pond across the street and if that isn't enough, go inside to a country/antique set up with lots of room to relax, complete with every amenity you could want or need, play games, cook meals, soak in the claw foot tub, or shower in the amazing master shower. I could go on and on, but I think you have the idea. We have been renting VRBO for probably 7 years now. This has to be the best. We fell in love with the area and the family! Our only complaint was we had to leave.....but you can bet we'll be back! Thank you to the entire Dale Family, to Dollie and we look forward to seeing you again someday!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We travel to Arkansas every year to ride the area ATV trails. We really enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and property was beautiful. We enjoyed our daily visits with Mr. Robert and Mrs. Lawanda as well! They made us feel welcome! Hopefully, we can come back in the future.

Homey and great location for our needs

  • 4 of 5

Really nice place for us during our daughter's wedding. Very easy to work with the owners. There was no wifi, which was a bit difficult for us, but otherwise great.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and I'm glad your daughters wedding went well. Unfortunately, there is no wifi at the house as the service provider is not adding new customers. Howerver, Verizon and AT&T do provide strong 4G signals, so it is easy to set up a hot spot.

Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

Everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out. The secret room was great fun for our grandchildren. The yard and grounds were perfect for enjoying time outside. Peaceful scenery. Nice thick towels. Comfortable beds. Great shower in the master bedroom. Lawanda and Robert were a wonderful welcome committee, gracious, friendly and informative. It was great being back in Arkansas. We would stay here again and recommend to our friends.

Great Family Home

  • 5 of 5

This house has it all; garage for two vehicles or boats, fully equipped kitchen, four bedrooms with comfortable beds, a fantastic master bedroom with a great master bathroom, beautiful location with three farm ponds to fish. Just a great, clean house with large deck with a big green egg BBQ. Chuck is easy to work with and is very responsive. This was my second stay in this house and I will be back.
