Perfect alternative to expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! Beautiful historic building completely renovated with all modern amenities and elevator, the building is completely brand new inside, but with original facade outside on popular Huertas street, extremely close to Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums and the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), in historic downtown center of Madrid, the famous Barrio de las Letras.

The apartment has a very comfortable Queen bed ( 160 cm )
and 2 sofa beds in the living area. The bedroom has 3 walls and is not totally private. You can see it in the pictures.

I have lived in Madrid for the past decade, glad to help you choose the best places to visit in and around Madrid. The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor and the Museums.

The Metro subway station is a few steps away, so that you may easily move around Madrid, as well as a short walk to the Atocha Main Train station.

You will love it!

Beautiful, well equipped with excellent AC in the terrific location near great local restaurants. Easy walk to Prado and other sites. Owner was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and left many tips for dining etc. a definite strong recommendation.

Perfect for a family of 3

Overall a great property. Has everything you need. It’s well appointed & super clean. Communication was on point and the host even provides wonderful recommendations. Literally only hiccup is that it is in the best location because it is in the middle of everything but with that came some noise issues. Really just Fri and Sat night when ppl stayed up later. But otherwise a perfect place.

Great place to stay in Madrid

Gorete, the owner of the apartment, was great in answering all our questions in advance of our arrival and provided us with lots of information on what to see and do while in Madrid. At check-in, we were met by Alicia, someone who helps Gorete, and she explained everything we needed to know. It's a great location and within walking distance of many great things to see and do in Madrid. We loved the apartment and would definitely come back.

Location

The apartment and location are generally excellent. However, there is proximity to nightclubs which did lead to disturbed sleep on a couple of nights. The noise was not from the night clubs themselves but young people gathering either before after going to the club.

Desde el primer minuto tanto el recibimiento (gracias Alicia y gracias Gorete), como la estancia ha sido maravillosa. El lugar es idóneo, En apenas 5 minutos estás en el Prado o la Plaza del Sol. El apartamento es precioso y muy bien equipado. Sin lugar a dudas, en cuanto vuelva a Madrid intentare que este sea el apartamento de nuestra estancia. Lo recomiendo sinceramente. First time in Madrid

We could not have picked a better place to stay! The apartment was perfect with all the amenities. The location was great, close to the subway and easy walking to many attractions. The owner and onsite manager were most responsive. As a VRBO owner myself, I definitely give it 5 stars and will stay again on our next trip to Madrid!John

Fantastic Place in Barrio de las Letras in Madrid!

My partner and I enjoyed a week at this lovely apartment in Barrio de las Letras in Madrid. Our host communicated very well with us and made the process a breeze for this VBRO first-timer. The inside has hardwood floors, is tastefully decorated, and is well-equipped with amenities. The view from the balcony is truly enchanting- and there’s even a flea market right outside your door on Saturday afternoons! The neighborhood is centrally located and the dining and entertainment options, even just in this area, are endless. You can walk to many of Madrid’s great attractions such as the Prado or Retiro. We found the neighborhood to be safe. A great choice!

Fantastic little apartment !

We were very happy with apt 1C. If you are looking for a centrally located apt in Madrid where you can explore everything by foot this is it. The apt is in a lovely, secure building on a tree lined pedestrian only street with tons of cafes, shops and restaurants a stones throw away. We loved the tall ceilings and little shuttered balcony. It’s very clean, comfortable, well stocked and nicely decorated. I was a little concerned about recent reviews saying it’s noisy but it was quiet every night except for Saturday night with some rowdy partiers on the street. But even then, it wasn’t a big deal at all. Just close the windows and shutters and it helps. We would 100% book this apt again.

Great apartment & neighborhood but noisy at night.

The apartment is nice and in a good central location. Neighborhood is lively with restaurants, shops etc. The issue we found was there’s a night club below that opens around 10pm and goes til 4am or so. It gets loud with people hanging out in front smoking, yelling, laughing etc. I had to sleep with earplugs every night which wasn’t the worst thing but not what I’m looking for on a vacation. Other than the club issue the apartment is great along with owner Greta and the ladies that work for her.

Disappointing stay

My husband and I stayed at this property for one week in March. My contact with Gorete was excellent and she has many useful recommendations.We were not greeted by her but by her assistant Alicia. Between the time she opened the door and left after having “explained” how things worked in the apartment was 4 minutes tops.The apartment is a suite and not a one bedroom- there are partitions separating the liviving room from the bed and the bed from the bathroom.It is relatively well-equipped and is well situated for many must see sites in Madrid.There is also a good restaurant just downstairs.The real downside of the apartment is the noise. There is a bar 2 doors away and a youth hostel a few hundred meters up the street. The partying is nightly in the street until 4 am.Gorete had told me that she had inner courtyard apartments that were quieter but darker, but we never expected that amount of noise so late into the night or early morning.

Anniversary Trip

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here. We loved that everything was within walking distance. The apartment was super cute, clean, and very comfy!Gorete was such a pleasure to work with, very accommodating, and answered all our questions. Alicia checked us in and she was very nice and went over everything in the apartment. We will be back!

Beautiful space!

This is our second time staying with Goreta, in 2016 we stayed in the apartment next door. The building is safe and secure. The location is fantastic. And Goreta and Alicia are absolutely wonderful. It can be a bit loud from the street noise, but closing the shutters helps with that. Next time we are in Madrid there is no doubt where we will be staying.

Perfect Location

Apartment is very clean and is fairly well equipped. Had a great stay in Madrid. Everything was as advertised. Only comment is that the living room furniture is not very comfortable.

Location, location, location! This is smack-dab in the middle of the historic Barrio de las Letras (Literature Neighborhood) very romantic, safe and with countless places to eat, people-watch, on a pedestrian street (no traffic).

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The building was completely gutted a few years ago and they saved the facade and the 100 year old staircase, but everything else is brand-new modern construction and a modern elevator. We have furnished and equipped the apartment with everything we would like to find in a rental, we use VRBO ourselves when we travel so we understand that small details are paramount. Besides, we have lived in Madrid for over a decade, so we are happy to steer you to the best suggestions, whether they are restaurants, site seeing, shopping, trendy restaurants, family places or unique Madrid experiences depending on your date of travel.
