We had a lovely time at the apartment. It was warm clean and comfortable and in a fantastic location for central Madrid. Pedro was a great host and very helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

As we were walking, with our bags, looking for the right place, Pedro came out to meet us. What a lovely welcome. The apartment is in a wonderful location, just behind Plaza Mayor. The apartment, is pretty, decorated with love. Pedro had graciously left a bottle of wine for us. the apartment had everything we needed, great location - near restaurants, supermarkets and all the sites we went to were in walking distance. Pedro is an outstanding host - ready to answer all our questions and offer useful tips.

Pedro is likely the nicest man in Spain and made sure we found place and got settled easily. Great location and very comfortable. Only downside was 4 floor and no elevator, but historic district and not allowed to put one in apparently.

We really enjoyed our stay. Pedro was such a charming host and carried our very heavy bag up to the apartment. The location is perfect, the beds were comfortable, the temperature was nice and cool during some very hot days in Madrid, and there was plenty of space for us to enjoy family time. We did not mind the four flights of stairs, but we walk and hike regularly. It was also easy to catch a taxi out front. We really enjoyed looking down at all the action from the balcony. Thank you Pedro!

A gem in the heart of Madrid

Pedro met us at the property and gave us a lovely welcome and orientation. We loved staying in a central location and found the apartment to be very comfortable. It was really neat to stay in a place with a lot of history , and loved the colors/decor in the apartment. Will definitely return next time we are in Madrid. Thanks Pedro!

Madrid Stay

Madrid is a very big city! Lots of people and I kind of compare it to New York City. But with more history. The apartment is in a perfect location in the old town and it was easy to get to the places that we wanted to see. The check in process was easy as we met the owner and he helped us carry some of our luggage up the steps. Two things that are important to consider about staying in the old town area is the age of the buildings. One needs to understand that there are quirks with these old buildings around the plumbing and such. The apartment was very acceptable for us and we just needed to get accustomed to the little things that we were normally able to do in modern places. This is the whole point to staying in a more traditional residence when traveling. Overall, we enjoyed our time in Madrid and may get back there some time down the road.

Wonderful home near Plaza Mayor!

We loved Pedro's apartment. Pedro himself is very warm and welcoming, as is his home. We loved the personal details in the apartment and the view is amazing! Place was very clean and beds were comfortable. Yes, it is a long walkup but, to us, completely worth it. Location is excellent and yet quiet at night. We hope to stay again when we return to Madrid. Gracias, Pedro!

Family home

We both feel very privileged to have been able to share Pedro‘s family property. The location and view of the plaza was better than expected. We will definitely revisit this property next time we visit Madrid.

Perfect location to explore central Madrid

Great location, great host, some problems

The location was fantastic. The host was friendly and helpful, and even helped us bring luggage up the stairs. That was greatly appreciated. You simply couldn’t beat the location. There are a few improvements/suggestions I would make. The double bed in one room was so hard. It was like sleeping on a door. Caused us horrible back pain. We switched to the two twin beds in the second bedroom (the hard bed didn’t seem bother our son in his 20s). However, these weren’t great as they were too soft. You couldn’t flush toilet paper down the toilet so you had to empty a dustbin every day. Not a big deal but would’ve been nice to know in advance. Lots of dust in the apartment and hair from previous guests. The bathroom also needs some serious cleaning and grout work to make it top notch. All in all, not a bad place to stay if you’re not picky about your bed and overall details.

Pedro is awesome!

The thing everyone should understand about this place is that Pedro (the owner) is not just renting you a place to stay. He is welcoming you to his home where he grew up and will make sure he is there to help you carry bags up the stairs and show you every detail about the beautiful apartment. Because he is also a tour guide, Pedro will give you tips and directions to everything you need to spend a magnificent time in Madrid. We loved the whole experience.

Spacious apartment and easy location in Madrid

We stayed four nights here hosted by Pedro who was not only communicative through VRBO but also with me directlu upon our arrival in Madrid. He was at the apartment to welcome us. The apartment is on the 4th floor so you need to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. The apartment has a wondeful open view over the Plaza de la Provincia with the associated sounds of the streets and the aromas of the restaurant below. The French doors also house the portable airconditioner which worked well enough on the warmer days. The apartment was comfortable and the Wifi and bathroom worked well. The beds were fine although a bit thinner than we are used to. We did not use the kitchen to cook. We particularly liked the authentic styling and original touches of this home and with its separate bedrooms and living space, there is room to spread out. We had some rainshowers when we first arrived and watching from the balcony was excellent to see them sweeping across the rooftops. Being close to the Plaza Mayor (25 m away), there is enough hustle and bustle late into the evening but the noise was manageable and the mornings are quiet. This location is also very close to all kinds of food, drink and just a few minutes to several sights. Recommended when staying in Madrid and Pedro was an outstanding host.

Nel cuore di Madrid

Sono stata nella casa di Pedro per un breve soggiorno di 3 giorni con degli amici e ci siamo trovati molto bene. La sua posizione è eccezionale per muoversi a piedi e raggiungere agevolmente tutti i principali luoghi di interesse e questo è senz'altro impagabile. Occorre però prestare attenzione ad alcune sue caratteristiche che non appaiono subito evidenti nella descrizione: essendo un edificio d'epoca senza ascensore, peraltro arredato in modo piacevole ed originale, ha una camera senza finestra così come anche il bagno. Si tratta della camera matrimoniale che ospita un letto alla francese largo 140cm che per alcuni potrebbe risultare troppo piccolo. Pedro è stato un padrone di casa perfetto ed accogliente, ci ha dato la possibilità di lasciare i nostri bagagli da subito la mattina del nostro arrivo ed anche il pomeriggio della nostra partenza permettendoci più libertà per godere del soggiorno, ci ha messo a disposizione 2 mazzi di chiavi cosa molto comoda quando si è tra amici e ci ha dato consigli su locali e visite. Consigliamo senz'altro la sua originale casa per immergersi nell'autentica atmosfera della città.

Enjoyed the stay. Kitchen well equipped The 75 steps up to the apartment were a killer! Apartment needs decent bed pillows and more towels. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel is not enough.

Best location ! Wonderful experience !

The flat is in a superb location overlooking Plaza de la Provencia. We were lucky enough to be staying here during the Festival de San Isidro. Also, the morning we left there was pomp and circumstance surrounding the arrival of new ambassadors. We could see everything from our balcony. This flat was perfect for us ! Thank you to the host for such a wonderful experience .
