Visiting Starview Lodge makes you feel a world away from the bustle of the city, despite being only 2 hours from San Francisco. Situated on Cobb Mountain – the tallest of the Mayacamas range above Calistoga - you will be treated to the scent of a dense forest, spectacular mountain views, and the best stargazing!
The lodge has three well-appointed bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a great room for entertaining. The master bedroom has a California King memory foam bed, while the second bedroom has a Queen memory foam bed and its own en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom has two bunk beds for a total of 4 twin beds, all with memory foam mattresses. All bedrooms are outfitted with premium linens and comforters.
The open great room combines kitchen, dining room and living room, all view spectacular views of the surrounding forest and Cobb Mountain. The lodge backs up to Boggs State Forest, and sits in a small clearing in the trees. There is a clear view of the night sky - it's a wonderful place to watch a meteor shower!
In the winter months, curl up by the wood-burning fireplace and sprawl on the couch to read a great book. You might also consider watching your favorite Netflix movie on the 40” HDTV.
In the summer, take advantage of the expansive deck with large gas grill, adirondack chairs and outdoor dining table. Read a book while listening to the birds and deer rummage for food, or invite some friends and have an outdoor feast.
Once you have settled into the relaxed mountain atmosphere, you can leave the car behind and walk to many of the great things Cobb has to offer, including:
• Boggs State Forest – hiking, mountain biking (1/4 mile, 5 minutes)
• Cobb Mountain Golf Course, Restaurant and Bar (5 minutes)
• Hardester’s Grocery (10 minutes)
• Mountain High Coffee (10 minutes)
• Brick Oven Pizza (10 Minutes)
You can also take a scenic drive through the mountains and discover other great nearby destinations, including:
• Pine Grove Family Resort – 2 swimming pools and a café (3 minutes)
• Moore Family Winery – Estate-made white and red varietals in the Red Hills appellation (10 Minutes)
• Loch Lomond Roadhouse – Food, drinks and live music (10 minutes)
• Harbin Hot Springs (10 minutes)
Your pet(s) are always welcome at Starview Lodge. There is a fully fenced deck and separate dog run in the side yard for your best friends to enjoy, and a state forest with thousands of acres to play is right outside the back door!
The cabin is equipped with cable TV, high-speed Internet with WiFi, HDTV, and central heat and central air conditioning.
Where is Cobb Mountain? It is less than an hour from Sonoma, Mendocino and Napa counties. It is two hours from Sacramento / central valley, and two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. The town of Cobb is above 2600’ and receives several periods of light snow during the winter! And because it is inland and sheltered from the coastal fog, it reaches wonderful but comfortable 80s/90s temperatures in the summer. It’s a perfect escape any time of the year.
The home is well maintained, was very clean upon our arrival. Had every amenity we could expect. The bed was amazing. It was very kid friendly.
This is a quiet little getaway. There are two levels. The first level is pretty cold, dark, and not really a place you want to hang out, although our children enjoyed building a fort on the bunks. There are two bedrooms on the bottom level. The main level is warm and much nicer than the bottom level. It rained the entire time we were there, so I can't speak to the views. The little town of Cobb is cute and the house isn't too far from some fun little wineries.
Quiet getaway, perfect for our family Christmas.
Beautiful cabin in the tree tops, great location close to store and pizza. Beds comfy, beautiful bathroom very clean. Loved the fireplace. Overall a wonderful getaway in a lovely home.
Very nice home.
2nd floor is luxuries compare to first floor.
We were impressed all around with this property. We stayed here after a day in Napa, and though the drive up showed the devastation of the 2015 fire, the property itself was beautiful, peaceful, and green. We especially appreciated how dark the bedrooms stayed since we don't get to sleep in much as parents.
