Why Nuno Barroso chose Sesimbra
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is lovely, located in a private land of 40.000m2, with its private parking place and a private wide garden where you can enjoy the sun, the birds singing, the amazing view over the ocean, do barbecue if you wish and sit and eat in the outside, enjoying the fresh pure air.

we have spend an amazing time in this house of Sesimbra. It is equipped with all necessary and has a very good stable internet connection. The house is absolutely separate from another neighbours. It has its own garden territory where you can have a breakfast, sunbathing or grill something. From garden there is a wonderful view overlooking the town. The location is perfect. You are in nature and in the city at the same time if you need. Sesimbra is 15 min by foot. It is a very nice place with developed infrastructure. There are many restaurants to choose from. It has also a fish market. The big supermarkets are also given and they are about 7 min by car from the city. The location of Sesimbra is also suitable for those who prefer to visit the north of Portugal and the south as well.
I would like to thank Nuno for his assistance! When we had some questions he was always available and helped us whatever we needed.
I wish you also enjoy your holiday in Portugal in this house and I am sure it will be unforgettable.
Great little house for two people
Nuno's little house is really wonderful. It sits high above the village with wonderful views out to sea. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and tranquility.
We very much enjoyed visiting the market in the village almost every day. It has an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables and most importantly fish which we barbecued on the grill in the garden.
Great authentic place
We had a great two weeks in Sesimbra. Our host, Nuno Barosso, was very helpful, flexible & gave some good tips. The house has a nice view on the bay of Sesimbra, right from the dining table. There a books in all sorts of languages, in case it rains. The house has a welcome, open, warm and authentic feeling. From the house it is easy to walk to the castle from one side and to a waterfall from the other side. Everything you need is in the house, including a washing machine and WiFi. We can certainly recommend this place.
This enchanting little villa are set in a 4 hectares estate, and is fully integrated in this beautiful protected area, where building is very restricted. It is the last property before Sesimbra Castle and only at about 500mt from the well known fishermen's town of Sesimbra. It is an excellent choice to lovers of nature, both the countryside and the sea. Privacy is guaranteed by the extensiveness of the property and its position. The house is 1000mt from the sea, which you can view and smell everywhere. Although the property and the houses are private and isolated, all the amenities of the local village of Sesimbra are only 1km away, making your purchases and local restaurant trips very quick.
And of course we have a beautiful garden with a barbecue.
I would suggest you have a car - but you could walk into the town and the beaches if you didn't - you'd just be missing out on the rest. You can get to Lisbon in less than an hour and it is a wonderful city.
There is safe shaded parking for 1 car and there is plenty more parking around the house.
Beaches & Nautical sports: "Praia de Sesimbra" the nearest beach from the house, walking distance , 'Praia da Foz' is a fine sand beach, only 6 km away, which you can walk or drive to; it is a beautiful unspoilt beach surrounded by cliffs. You can also find the beach “Praia das Bicas”, popular for surfing, and 'Praia Rio da Prata'. To the north you'll discover the largest and main beach, “Praia do Meco”, with three miles of white sand and beautiful cliffs. This is the most uninhibited and naturist beach in Portugal. Praia do Meco is so long that if you walk long enough you will always find an uncrowded spot.
Gastronomy, wine tasting and other activities: In a country with such an extensive coastline, it is not surprising that the sea should be one of the main sources of its cuisine. In the many restaurants of Meco, Sesimbra or Setubal, sample all sorts of the most fresh and delicious grilled fish and the best seafood, such as clams, mussels or shrimps.
Portugal's climate and soil, its excellent varieties of traditional grapes and the wisdom and long experience of its vine-growers have all helped to make Portuguese wines amongst the most appreciated. The region of Setúbal, which has given its name to a sweet fortified wine, made from moscatel grape, also produces robust reds and light white wines.
Apart from Lisbon, 40km away, Azeitão, Setubal, Palmela are easily reached, making this place an ideal base for unforgettable excursions.
