This vintage mid-century house has the classic living space of that period – a central wrap around fireplace and chimney that defines the open-beam living room, dining room, and the kitchen, all with an open floor plan, extensive skylights and picture windows that emphasizes the large size of the living spaces. Three bedrooms, all with queen size beds, are in their own wing. There are two bathrooms, one of which is in the master suite. There is a media room with HD TV, Blu Ray DVD, and cable TV. A daybed with trundle bed in the media room can be used as two twin beds for the kids. Also in the media room is a desk for writing or catching-up on your email. Hardwood floors and forced air heating throughout the house. Fast, large washer/dryer are available in the garage.
The private outdoor space is unsurpassed. The beautiful enclosed large deck sits among the redwoods, and the large private back patio is an ideal space for a barbecue-all surrounded by mature redwood trees. All rooms exit out into either the patio or the deck through glass doors.
This property is very tranquil and quiet. The house is nestled in a redwood forest, surrounded by mature redwood trees, a creek, and a truly peaceful, romantic setting. Every room in the house has a window facing the redwoods that circle the home, bringing in natural light. All three bedrooms have sliding glass doors: two face the large front deck and the master suite faces the large patio and garden.
Our residential neighborhood is tranquil and quiet and family-oriented. A ten minute stroll, along the Corte Madera creek and through massive 100+ year-old redwoods of Miller Grove brings you to the center of the quaint village of Mill Valley. Walk 5 minutes the other direction and you are into Blithedale Park and beyond up Mount Tamalpais to its many hiking trails.
Business in downtown Mill Valley include numerous high-end and casual restaurants, a grocery store/deli, a fantastic local bakery and a wide variety of boutiques. There are also many entertainment options: the historic Sweetwater Music Hall, the 142 Throckmorton Comedy Club, and a vintage movie theater. Marin Theatre Company is just a 5 minutes drive away.
Mill Valley has two Whole Foods markets, a Friday Farmer's Market, and organic sections in the historical market and two Safeway Stores.
For hiking, mountain biking, surfing and more, Mount Tamalpais State Park, Muir Woods National Monument, Stinson Beach, and the Marin Headlands are all just minutes away. Sausalito and Tiburon are both tourist destinations and also minutes away. The Napa and Sonoma Wine countries are only an hours drive north. And of course, the world-class city of San Francisco and all it has to offer is only 15 minutes away across the Golden Gate Bridge.

About Brent Lok
I grew up in Mill Valley in the 60s and recently came back purchasing my dream home nestled in the redwoods.
Brent Lok purchased this House in 2014
Why Brent Lok chose Mill Valley
It's been lots of fun furnishing this dream home in authentic mid-century furnishings, bringing back childhood memories. Now I'd like to share this dream home with you, my guests. I'd also like to share all the home and the beautiful surrounding area has to offer guests: hiking, dining, entertainment, sightseeing, and SF nightlife.
What makes this House unique
I fell in love with this home because it was a home nestled in the redwoods. From every window in the house and from the amazing deck and patio you see redwoods. While its only a 10 minute walk along the Corte Madera creek into downtown Mill Valley with all its shopping and restaurants, you also have all the hiking trails of Mount Tamalpais right at your doorsteps. Its a short 15 minute ride across the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco and all it has to offer. It's also only 60 minutes to the Sonoma and Napa wine country.

Beautiful spot, house, and village! I did leave a piece of my heart in Mill Valley!
We came to see the Redwoods and we were living right among them! The house was comfortable for our group of 3 couples. We could walk to the village for coffee in the morning and dinner at night. Close to the city and the seashore. It was perfect! The locals were all very friendly, giving us tips and sharing local knowledge.
Nothing short of amazing
This is the second year in a row we've rented this place. I'll come here the rest of my life if i can :-) A mere15 minute walk from downtown that feels like you stumbled out of the middle of Yosemite to the quaintest town on offer. The place is incredibly clean, tidy and has everything you need. The hosts couldn't be more gracious or quick to communicate. 5-stars
The house was in the perfect location to the San Francisco and surrounding area. Loved the redwood trees! Home is clean and simple.
Great Stay in Mill Valley
A group of friends and I came to Mill Valley for a wedding and stayed at Brent's beautiful home.
The place was spotless when we arrived ready for us to enjoy our stay. Brent was always quick to respond during the booking process and provided a warm welcome prior to arriving.
I would highly recommend for anyone coming to Mill Valley.
The accommodations are top notch. The large porches were great. Of course having perfect weather didn't hurt. The walk into town (about 15 minutes) is surreal among the towering redwoods and picturesque properties. Highly recommended.
Great Location for visiting S.F., Muir Woods, Napa/Sonoma Valleys, Mt. Tamalpais, Mill Valley
The pictures of the home in the Redwoods are good - but being their and sitting on the front deck in the Redwoods is even better! The home is clean, well maintained, and provides all the essential needs. The location is superb. If you are healthy and prefer walking over driving, the location is ideal. My wife and I and another couple stayed in the home for 9 nights - we're all around 60 years of age. We walked to Mill Valled daily, walked trails that were easily accessible from the home, and we even walked the bike/walking trail to Sausolito. Their is a $2 shuttle bus from Mill Valley to Sausolito and a $6 Ferry to San Francisco that helped eliminate the need for driving. SF trolleys, cable cars, and buses are easy to access and are inexpensive. Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, and Stinson Beach were very short drives. Napa and Sonoma Valleys are a bit further, but were still easily accessible by car. Brent Lok offered very good suggestions for activities in the area and is easy to access by text and/or email with any questions or concerns. We all had a great time and hope to make a return visit.
Only 15 minutes drive south across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco and all it's internationally acclaimed attractions. At the foot of Mount Tamalpais with extensive hiking and mountain biking trails, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and Muir Beach. Close to Sausalito, Tiburon, Marin Headlands, and Point Reyes National Seashore. Only an hour north to the Sonoma and Napa wine countries.
