About the property

Cozy, converted barn completely renovated for 2016!

Private wilderness River Ranch on 190 acres of world-class swimming holes. Cozy, converted Barn completely renovated for 2016! Great for family reunions, yoga & corporate retreats, weddings and friends getting together. Four miles to the southern gate of Sequoia National Park with great hiking trails, high mountain meadows, and giant groves of Sequoia trees.

This is a working ranch with cattle, horses, donkeys, goats, peacocks and chickens (feel free to gather fresh eggs from our chicken coop!). We do have an occasional bear and deer wandering through as well as foxes, raccoons, and birds galore!

There is approximately 1800 feet of riverfront with many great boulders to lay on after a nice refreshing swim in one of our several massive swimming holes, where you can take an exhilarating dip in total seclusion with a valley of mountains surrounding you.

The Barn is located at the river's edge. It includes an upper self-contained unit consisting of 1 king bed and 1 full bathroom, a children's nook with a full bed (this children’s nook is a miniature room with it’s own door), a kitchen, a family room with a couch, a flat-screen with DirecTV, as well as additional seating, a table and a bar area. Outside the upper unit there is a large deck overlooking the South Kaweah River. The lower/ground floor of the Barn has 5 sleeping areas: 3 bedrooms with queen beds as well as 1 bunk-bed room with a full on top and a queen on the bottom. All of these rooms have doors. There is also 1 den connected to the living room (living-room has three large couches) that has a fold-out queen bed. This den area is not separated by a doorway but connects to the living room through an alcove. Downstairs, there are 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, a game room with a pool & card tables and a flat-screen with DirecTV and a dvd player. Outside, there is a large patio with an extra-long bench seating/eating area with huge 8-foot custom BBQ. Upstairs and downstairs, the Barn sleeps 16 comfortably. The BBQ has cooked for 100 guests! The rate for the Barn is $800 per night, 10% occupancy tax, and $350 cleaning fee. This rental has a two-day minimum. We allow up to 16 guests for this rate- for additional guests or campers, there is a $25 per guest/per night fee.

In renting Redwood Ranch, you will ensure total privacy and that you will be the only guests with access to the 190 acres, the 1800 feet of river frontage with breathtaking tranquil and secluded swimming holes and a hiking/jogging/walking trail that loops around the property.

We require half up front (nonrefundable) to reserve. The remainder is due 30 days before arrival.

About Andrew George

Our family is very passionate about the outdoors and once we saw this ranch, we never stopped thinking about it! We are very grateful to own such a rare and special gem. It's really like owning and experiencing a piece of Sequoia National Park...

Andrew George purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Andrew George chose Sequoia, Kings Canyon

There are so many special features but we would think that the 190 acres with multiple swimming holes, waterfalls and mountain tops at 6500 feet out your window with no noise but the birds, peacocks, horses and cows, is a welcome change-

What makes this cabin unique

Being 8 miles out along South Fork Road gives you the feeling of being in the Sequoia National Park. The other feature is the river being situated so close to the Barn, and with access to one of the only bridges on the South Fork to cross the river, you can just take off into mountains. No one else has this access so you're not going to see another soul unless you invite them-

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wow, where do I begin. I do not believe 500 words can do justice in providing an adequate review for this AMAZING property. I was so excited about this rental from just looking at the wonderful photos, but to my surprise the location exceeded those expectations immensely. The entirety of the property is gorgeous, stunningly so; a serene and literally magical forest retreat with boundless possibilities and adventures to be had. Everything was straight out of a blissful dream. The whole property is so well maintained, the river runs directly behind the barn, where there was an unimaginably perfect venue for my birthday celebration. Steps in any direction can lead to a sanctuary of tress and boulders, and trails, and animals, and beautiful wildlife. And the barn! Oh my goodness. We were able to fit almost the entire party inside to sleep comfortably, while others chose to camp outside nearby. Each room was immaculately maintained, and contained beautiful rustic art pieces. The double kitchens made meal prep effortless and provided plenty of space to hang out and do different activities. We ate fresh eggs from the chicken coup EVERY DAY! I was honestly speechless the whole weekend at how perfect this place was, and so were my nearly 35 guests, each of whom is currently BEGGING me to do this again next year (which we wholeheartedly hope to make a reality again). On top of all of the wondrous fun that was had and the enjoyment that we got from this place, we were greeted by the most charming and nicest gentleman, Phillip, the caretaker of the property. While he lives only a few hundred feet away, he made us feel as if we were on an isolated oasis, allthewhile making sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Every time I spoke with him, he ensured me that his main priority was to make sure we had a good time. And OH BOY did we. We (me and all of my attendees) are extremely grateful for his hospitality and friendliness, and really look forward to interacting with him again when we come back next year! Thank you so much Andrew and Phillip for letting us come enjoy this place, and I look forward to the next time. :)

Best Trip Ever

  • 5 of 5

Given the unique location along with the photos, we expected a beautiful stay and yes, we got that...and more. It is difficult to explain just how much our family (7) enjoyed and got so much out of this experience, that we will walk away with a treasure full of fantastic memories. The 190 acre ranch is so beautiful that it is truly awe-inspiring. My son said to me while cooking steaks on the barbecue that "this is the best vacation he has ever had".....and I must agree. The 3 children fell in love with the donkeys, the peacocks and especially the extremely friendly cats. My granddaughter brought in fresh eggs every morning for breakfast, a truly wonderful experience for this city-girl. The care-taker couple just were terrific and added another adventure/education experience to our vacation. Of course, we visited nearby Sequoia but couldn't wait to return to our mountain ranch "home" to settle in and enjoy the evening sunset on the surrounding hills and mountains and of course the ever-rushing South Fork River that flowed by our ranch/barn/home. My 5-star rating doesn't accurately reflect the joy and pleasure this stay brought us; I only wish there were 10 stars. What more can I say....we will return!

Wedding planning

  • 5 of 5

Having booked the Redwood Ranch for our upcoming wedding, we decided to spend a night there to survey the property in depth and discuss plans. Our stay only affirmed what we knew going in -- this is a very special place indeed. To experience such wild beauty in nature, you usually have to sacrifice a good deal of convenience and comfort, but the Redwood Ranch seems to anticipate your every need. The friendly and attentive caretaker even provided us with a well-trained guard dog to guide us on our walk! We couldn't be happier with our choice and we're looking forward to sharing the Ranch with our family and friends. Highly recommended.

Amazing, secluded weekend at picturesque location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time in Three Rivers making the Ranch our secluded home for a long weekend! It was the perfect spot for our smallish, relaxed backyard wedding and easily hosted our family and friends the night before for the rehearsal dinner. The weather was excellent and the caretaker was responsive to our requests. The place is so incredibly picturesque, the hardest part about staying there was limiting the spots to take photos! Andrew, the owner, was on-hand nearby to recommend hiking spots and make sure everyone was satisfied with our stay. We had our reception at Ol' Buckaroo. If you're staying, you MUST eat at Ol' Buckaroo at least once before you leave town - their fried chicken is so good it turned the vegan in our group back into a carnivore! Obviously, you should also head into Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We'll be back!

A spectacular natural playground for all ages

  • 5 of 5

This property is amazing. The river and swimming holes would be crowded with people in a normal world, but here they're all for you. We stayed here for my 40th birthday with about 25 adults and 20 kids. About half of us set up tents outside which worked great. If you are looking for a place that can handle lots of people and you like swimming holes, this place is for you. We went in September and it was hot outside, but the water was perfect. We hope to make it back again.

A perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

This place is unlike anything I've ever seen before. Every little detail just makes it absolutely magical, from the gorgeous, modern barn-house to the swimming hole. My fiancee and I recently got married here (stay was Sep. 29-Oct 1), and although we had to provide every element to make it a venue, the backdrop was the most beautiful! Every guest commented on how lovely the river and mountain landscape was, several saying it was the most beautiful place they'd ever been. The bridge and swimming hole not only made for a great time with friends before the wedding, but a perfect setting for photos. Although the water was chilly, our friends had the best time swimming and relaxing among the butterflies and birds. The ceremony site overlooked the river, and the reception site worked great with the tables, chairs, and dance floor we brought in. We hired a DJ, caterer, and ran shuttles from a local hotel, and everything went perfectly. The caretaker, Phillip, was warm, welcoming, and helpful. His friendly puppy Rufus even came to visit us at one point! I can't recommend this location highly enough for anything you may need, from a family reunion to a work retreat. Honestly, all of our friends said it was one of the best getaways they had, and they were helping to set up the day before! Nobody wanted to leave because everything we needed was right there. We were shocked to see how well-stocked the kitchen and rest of the house was, so we left behind a few of our spices and rolls of toilet paper to say thank you for all the supplies we used. It slept the 12 we had with us more than comfortably, and I'm sure it could have slept more. The two kitchens made it incredibly convenient, and our caterer had no trouble using the upstairs kitchen to prepare a fantastic meal. If you don't feel like bringing all your food for the weekend, you can travel to town, about a twenty minute drive away. We purchased take and bake pizzas from Sierra Subs and Salads and made our own pizzas at the house. Every morning we collected eggs from the chicken coop...nothing like fresh eggs! The owner, Andrew, provided excellent service, and takes great pride in this property. If you are willing to put in the work to make this blank canvas your dream location, this is the perfect venue for a rustic wedding. Thank you Redwood River Ranch - we hope to find another reason to come back!

This place was beyond our wildest dreams!

  • 5 of 5

I was overly impressed by this place! We came here to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place. Andrew from the beginning was amazing with communicating and answering all my questions. Once we arrived at the property Phil was great and we took him up on his tip of going night swimming in one of the swimming holes and it was the best advice ever. It was a beautiful place that makes you feel like you we on a private mountain. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Thank you for the amazing time!
