We've just finish remodeling ANOTHER Manzanita beachfront vacation home!

We couldn't resist this house - and we'll bet you'll love it too. First, there's the insane 180º views of Manzanita Beach with the scenic Neahkahnie mountain. Then there's the original beach rock wood burning fireplace to add to the charm and coziness.

We've opened up the kitchen to the views and modernized it just enough to accomodate the most discerning vacation cook. Of course you'll enjoy the honed granite countertops, brand new appliances (and yes, there's a dishwasher. It's just hidden) and everything you need to create your dining masterpiece.

This historic beach home was the Caretaker's Cottage for our Historic Reed House, now just two houses north of this enchanting bungalow. Equipped for 6, it has two cozy bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one bathroom with shower.

This well designed cozy house is the perfect space for your small individal, couples or group vacation, or as additional space to large groups visiting our Historic Reed House.

About Kim Bergstrom

I'm Kim Bergstrom. My husband, Eric Bergstrom, have built on my father's dream of owning a beachfront house on the Oregon Coast. We now own three, and much to my husband's dismay we continue to grow. We purchased our family beach house from my father in 1996, and have thrived through sweat equity - most people think of us as rather crazy, but we've taken something we love to do and are making it our second chapter in life.

We enjoy taking properties with potential and great location, adding a facelift without removing the character, and introducing them to our expanding group of guests. Our latest endeavor is a turn of the century three story house which will sleep 20. We put a lot of thought and work into each house, and luckily have found guests who love the results. Like many of our guests we've come to know over the years, we hope you also come to think of this special house as your very own vacation home - without all the work!

Why Kim Bergstrom chose Manzanita

With deep ties to the Manzanita community, we've watched this house over the years. Put up for sale, it needed love and attention, from the weedy front yard to the small windows and precarious route to the side deck. Kim and her daughter saw the potential and convinced Eric to join in the fun.

There definitely was a learning curve for all - by the end of the project we could have written a book detailing the fun and craziness with remodeling a cedar log house. With big windows and decks to take advantage of the beautiful setting and gorgeous ocean views, opening up smaller rooms to big open areas, designer touches here and there -- well, we invite you to see the results. Or check out our reviews. Our regular guests, and new guests, have awarded us great feedback. And every happy guest makes the experience worthwhile!

What makes this cottage unique

Spend your next vacation at this cozy beachfront Caretakers Bungalow on one of the most famous Oregon beaches. You'll love the modern updates to this historic cabin, including updated desiger kitchen with honed granite counters and awesome views!

Splendid breathtaking view of the water and shore birds

  • 5 of 5

Our stay (my husband, me and our small dog) was relaxing and easy. There were some minor housekeeping issues I shared with the owner who was grateful to receive the feedback. The grounds are beautiful with many amenities (barbecue, grass, several seating areas, shelter, lighted at night, quiet and close to beach access). We have been going to Manzanita since 1977 and have never stayed in this particular area..we loved it! We are counting the days to return.

Amazing renovation, Beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

The Caretaker's Bungalow is in a perfect spot just across the street from the beautiful beach. We've been coming to Manzanita for years but never have been able to enjoy such an ideal location, especially on the coveted Neahkahnie side. The house is outfitted with everything a group or four would need and the beach chic style is so well done. We thoroughly enjoyed our fourth of July week there!

Best rental in Manzanita

  • 5 of 5

Spring break '17 vacation was a big success! Multi families, lots of kids, we rented several houses from this owner and all were fantastic. We escaped from the crowd to this quaint cottage. Brand new remodel set up with everything we needed and the decor, furnishings and supplies were wonderful. Everything we needed. Enjoyed the big old fireplace and the kitchen which was really quite large and well supplied for a house of this size. Of course everything was new. Decor was really well done. Wondering if owner is a decorator? Views were also fantastic. I've run out of adjectives. Thank you for helping to make this vacation a big success. We'll tell all of our friends about your wonderful houses

Cute Cottage With Really Wonderful Views

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this rental. We booked both this house and the owner's Oceanside Modern Cabin 442897, and having both places worked well for our large girl's getaway. We thought one house would work, but then more people joined the vacation get-a-way.

This place is charming, well decorated, has really wonderful views from the mountain to down south along the beach. It's freshly remodeled, and everything is sparkling but has lots of charm too. It looks like it just stepped out of a decor magazine.

The beds were comfortable and the down duvets and the big fireplace made it that much more cozy. I liked the view, the location was wonderful too as you're so close to the beach and a short walk to town, and the whole experience went without a hitch. I would definitely recommend, although not for those who the staircase to the door would be a problem.

We loved this beautiful house!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! This is a perfectly appointed house with more than enough room for our family. The wonderful location right on the beach allowed for hours of beachcombing and driftwood fort making. The views and access to the beach can't be beaten.

The owners just finished remodelling and did a fantastic job. The house is very tastefully decorated and feels fresh and cozy. The beds and bedding were wonderful and comfy and together with the sound of the waves made for a great night sleep.

The owners must like to cook because we found everything we needed to make some amazing gourmet meals...this was a pleasant surprise!
