About the property

4 Bedrooms 3 Baths Year Round Mountain And Pastoral Views Close To Brevard

Welcome to the “Barn House”, a 1900’s barn renovated into an open floor plan house with 3 bedrooms and baths and an additional sleeping room with a double bed. There are two master bedroom suites with queen beds and separate bath(s) and closet(s), and a third room with two twin beds and separate bathroom. The large, modern kitchen is open to a dining area and a fabulous living room with high ceilings, wood floors, gas-burning log fireplace and extraordinary year-round long range views of the Smokey Mountains, WiFi, flat screen TV and a land line with free local and long-distance calls. There is access from the kitchen/living area to a large deck with dining table and chairs, gas grill, and more of the breathtaking, great panoramic views.

The Barnhouse is located about 3 miles to the entrance of Pisgah National Forest and 7 miles to DuPont State Park, an easy pedal for cycling enthusiasts. There is also a renovated corn crib in which to store your bikes at night. Located less than 5 minutes from downtown Brevard, one feels like in a remote area in the mountains, yet you are close to all that Brevard has to offer (with no worries driving back late at night), from shopping, restaurants and bars, to world class music festivals and white squirrels galore. The Barnhouse is a 20 minute drive from the Asheville Airport and 40 minutes to Ashville and is close to Flat Rock and Hendersonville. There is a small, fenced in pasture for those who need a place for their horse and several large stables within a mile of the barn. Watch the sun rise over the mountains from the deck, kitchen and living room and enjoy the light-filled, airy house.

Whether you’re hiking the mountain trails, exploring the many waterfalls Transylvania County has to offer, kayaking or canoeing, swimming or zip lining; your stay at Barnhouse will not disappoint.

What makes this house unique

The barn feels like it is in the remote mountains with the year round, panoramic views, but is within easy driving distance to Brevard with all the restaurants and entertainment. It was this feeling of remoteness and peacefulness coupled with the stress-free close drive home from a night out that led us to buy this property. The barn is close to both Pisgah Forest and Dupont Park so driving or biking to the mountains is a quick and scenic drive and other places around Asheville and Hendersonville are within easy reach. The sun-filled open rooms with the mountain views were also deal makers and we hope you enjoy the house as we do.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Heidi - I just wanted to tell you how much we loved staying at the barnhouse! You did a wonderful job converting it into a comfortable space. Our tastes are so similar! I appreciated even the little things you did to the house to make it perfect. The kitchen was beautifully stocked, the beds had cozy comfortors, the sofa was soft... perfect! I look forward to other trips to Pisgah and hope that we can stay at your place every time! Thanks again!

Another great stay at th Barnhouse!

  • 5 of 5

This time it was just me and my 10 yr old granddaughter . We hiked every morning , went horseback riding, and did some gift shopping in Brevard and Hendersonville. We ate dinner one night at the Pisgah Inn . For the most part we cooked at home ( Barnhouse) Except lunch, Grasyn fell in love with Rockies Soda Shop in Brevard ( their cheesburgers are awesome ) we played board games in the evening and I lost every time, rising 6th graders are very smart these days!!😄? Had fun catching firefly's around the property at the Barnhouse , star watching , and enjoying the clean , cool , fresh air. One week is not long enough!!!

Thanks again for a great week in the mountains.

Perfect place for a family gathering!

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at the Barn house and with the owner was wonderful. The house was spacious, comfy, and located conveniently to many outdoor attractions. The bedrooms had tons of space with room to spare. We had our Thanksgiving dinner (and several other meals) around the large dining table and relaxed out on the large deck and enjoyed the scenery. The kitchen had everything we needed from plates and cook wear to plastic bags and tin foil. I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family!

Amazing! The view, the house, the property were all amazing

  • 5 of 5

The barnhouse looks exactly like its namesake on the outside but is warm and cozy on the inside. The view in the morning from the deck catches the sunrise perfectly. We would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a mountain getaway. It's five minutes from pisgah and that was the main draw for us.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the barnhouse! The owners did a wonderful job converting a barn into a comfortable vacation home . The kitchen was beautifully stocked, the beds had cozy comforters, the sofa was soft and there was ample room to spread out... perfect! We brought three horses and they stayed in the field right outside the door. We were so close to DuPont and Turkey Pen so riding was a breeze. The views were amazing as was the table on the porch where we could enjoy the sunrise and the sunset. Can't wait to visit again!

A Comfortable Place in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

We loved this vacation home. It is an excellent place to stay and had room enough for seven of us. The price was very reasonable and there was easy access to hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest. Views from the deck were a nice way to begin and end each day. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to just get away.
