Nice setting but too costly for an older facility

  • 3 of 5

Property is an older MH with a nice attached sunroom on a picturesque wooded lot. The decline to the dock is steep and may not be suitable for everyone. Renters with boats should know that the boat ramp is across the lake from the property, which is not bad unless you take it in and out daily. Could be ideal for a couple that wants a real quiet weekend.

It grows on you

The location is great. The lake is right there. The access is easy. Close to Mammoth Cave if the weather is not cooperating. It is a mobile home with tight quarters but when I visit a lake I do not intend to stay inside that often. The trip was great.

The view from the back is absolutely stunning. Suggestion, if you like tea or coffee, make sure you have some. The back room is the perfect spot to enjoy morning tea/ coffee. Too pretty not to.

The house served its purpose, not exactly up to date, but it was clean and had enough space for us to be comfortable. I only wish we had more time to go enjoy the lake and fish. The property owner was very quick to respond and extremely friendly. I usually go to places based on customer service, and this is someone I would definitely go back to.

Cute little trailer with great view. Retro and nostalgic

  • 4 of 5

Trailer was easy to find and was in a great community of very nice lake homes. I especially enjoyed the sunroom that had a great view. You could see lake and my little dog really liked sitting and watching the squirrels. Loved watching the bright blue bluebird fly from tree to tree. Even enjoyed watching the rain and listening to it hit the roof. The beds are okay but the trundle bed might be best suited for a child or younger person as it is pretty low. The path down to steps is a dirt and rock trail not too steep but might be harder for older person. I'm 66 though with knee replacements and I managed okay. Steps are not bad and dock for your boat is good. Owner is easily accessible if you need him. Overall it's a good value for a stay at the lake for one or two couples or one with a couple of kids. We enjoyed our stay and might visit again.

Great place for quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

First, the owner and VRBO people were helpful and responsive when we contacted them, which made the rental easy to do.

The cabin was perfect for the rwo of us. It has a nice view over the small cove and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony or in the glassed-in sunroom watching the squirrels and birds. Lovely setting. I'm guessing that the cabin is vintage 1970 or so but has a balcony porch and sunroom added. It has been updated inside and has lots of good, comfortable furniture and a flat-screen Smart TV and DVD player.

The dock was convenient for your own or rented boats and close to a few marinas. We rented a pontoon boat from Peninsula Marina for four days so they let us keep it overnight at the cabin.

The dock is a fairly long climb up two flights of stairs, one steep and one shallow, and rhen across the steep back yard. The younger people next door had no trouble but my old out of shape legs were worn out by the end of our stay. Next time I would park the boat at the marina at night and take the car back to the cabin.

The cabin had plenty of room - 2 br + a pull out double with a single trundle. The kitchen was very well furnished and had almost everything we needed. I am used to a gas stovetop at home so I was really glad to see one here. There is a good collection of dishes, pots and pans, silverware and utensils.

Bed was comfortable enough and we slept well. Nice to have a shower with full tub so the shower was roomy. The hot water recovered quickly between showers. Washer and dryer worked great.

All in all we loved our stay here and would consider returning to this cabin.
