Manzanita is a beautiful Oceanside city with 7 miles of sandy beach. It posses the third most photographed scenery in all of Oregon. Nestled in the protective shadow of Nehakahnie Mountain, Manzanita is so much more than a summertime beach vacation. The other seasons provide ample opportunity to experience the best of what we have to offer: fishing on the Nehalem River, camping at Nehalem Bay State Park, wine tasting, shopping at quaint boutiques, and sampling a variety of fine and casual dining options. You can also get a massage at a local spa and lose the cares of the long work week. Weekends often mean live music at local venues or cultural events at the Hoffman Center, including art classes, lectures, and film presentations. The town is blessed with an abundance of artisans in all mediums, and galleries and studios beckon art-lovers. Get up early for a crisp walk on the beach and breathe in the clean ocean air or hibernate over a glass of wine and a book and enjoy a front row seat for a perfect sunset.

Just over an hour from Portland, Manzanita has just what you’re looking for every day of the year: a chance to discover your definition of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We had 9 people in this house, ranging in age from 73 to 3, and the house was perfect for all of us. The bedrooms were comfortable and well situated to accommodate parents who needed to be near small children. The openness of the living areas on the main floor and the top floor was conducive to lots of easy time together, and the views were spectacular. There was hardly a single issue to contact the owners about, but when we did they were immediately attentive and helpful. We live on the East Coast and came to Manzanita for our daughter's wedding. I don't know how soon we are likely to be in Manzanita again, but whenever it might happen we would absolutely want to stay in this house again.

Fantastic!!!

  • 5 of 5

I so enjoyed my stay at this property! I met 3 of my sister's and we came here to connect. The house is fantastic. From the main floor, the view is great, but when you go upstairs, it's absolutely phenomenal. The house was very clean and the four bedrooms have the MOST comfortable beds and bedding.....slept like a baby! I loved lying in bed at night, opening the window and letting the sound of the waves lull me to sleep. The location is fantastic. Manzanita is a cute town and will meet any expected needs. In addition, Cannon Beach is a short drive away with many galleries, restaurants and shops. The beach is immaculate.....great for taking walks cause it's right there across the street! The house also has board games to play, cards, some movies on DVD and, of course, a TV in case you get an afternoon shower. There are so many places to hike, bike and play nearby. There is something for every activity level. I highly recommend this vacation rental, and I'm pretty picky! Go ahead and book it.....you won't regret it!!!

OK

  • 2 of 5

We arrived at night and there was no coffee provided for in the morning, so that was not a good first impression of the hospitality! Even the cheapest motel provides some coffee. The light was out in the lower floor bedroom so had to use only the little side shelf lights. in each room there was just a single dresser and that was the only surface available. Typically there would at least be a chair in the room or one of those luggage holders or something. The rooms did not have trash cans in them. The rooms had no alarm clocks. It could use a coffee table for the couch on the middle level. Some closets had a few hangers in them and some did not. The shower curtain next to the toilet downstairs was stained yellow. We had a couple of days of incredibly loud road work being done in front of the house which was not mentioned and not pleasant. All the windows in the house were FILTHY. There would have been a gorgeous view of the ocean and sunset from the third floor if you could see out the windows. It was ok. Nothing impressive. Probably wouldn't return for the amount of money I was charged.

Great family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family united here July 16-23,2017, coming from Idaho, Arizona, and Texas. We were 11 in all, 8 adults and 3 children. The house was fitted with all our needs. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped, and the deck and third floor so wonderful for the ocean views. The short walk across the street to the dunes and beach was a delight. We were blessed with a week of gorgeous weather. The little town of Manzanita is charming, each store having its own personality. The ping pong table in the garage was great fun. Truly, the house was everything we could have hoped for.

Great location and spaces!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location - close to beach access and just far enough away from town to feel like you're away from it all, but a quick and easy way to shops and restaurants. Great, clean bedrooms. Loved the top floor for puzzles and for people to "get away" when they needed to. We comfortably fit three couples, another adult, two toddlers and a newborn. Space worked perfectly for our needs.

Would have been a near perfect stay

  • 3 of 5

When we arrived in Manzanita, we were surprised to see the stretch of Beach Street that the house is located on was being re-paved. The steam rollers were rolling through and many trucks were going back and forth on the very same block (with reverse beeps constantly). The entire house then proceeded to rumble from the foundation up and windows rattled for the entire afternoon. We had planned a peaceful family reunion for my mother's 70th birthday with family coming from Europe. Needless to say, some owner disclosure would have been nice. Even a "hey, we don't know when the construction is happening but it is scheduled for this summer. It might be happening when you're in town". We cancelled 2 houses in Arch Cape, 6+ months ago to book this house, both of which would have been certainly quieter and less disruptive to our daily schedules. The owner was kind enough to let us out of our reservation when we called upon checking in but moving three packed families back home when we had planned a week-long trip didn't seem reasonable. Oh, and odd that she mentioned that we had gotten a "smoking rate" (stay coinciding with the eclipse) and that if we didn't want to stay she had other takers willing to pay triple our rate. I guess if one gets the listed summer rate, then one should just deal with the torn out road and constant construction immediately outside the front door. Caveat emptor.

About the house itself: perfect location across the street from public beach access, comfortable beds, ping pong table, well-stocked house. Downsides: DVD player not working, doorknob broken on bathroom (panicky kids and adults alike not able to get out from inside), several burned out lights, malfunctioning horizontal blinds.
