SPACIOUS INSIDE AND OUT
This bright and airy penthouse apartment is the perfect place for families or 4 couples traveling together. There are plenty of sleeping options in 4 light-filled bedrooms, contemporary furnishings throughout, and a city-view veranda complete with seating and BBQ grill – you may spend more time out here then inside!

PRIVACY AND PAMPERING
Imagine a home where every bedroom is the master suite. All 4 bedrooms in Acropolis Blue have their own en-suite bath, so kids (or couples) don’t have to fight over the best room.
Each bedroom features high-end bedding and colorful art on the walls. Each bathroom boasts massage jets in the showers, organic Greek bath products, and fluffy cotton robes.
With its enviable perch atop the highest point on this downtown street, you’ll have peace and quiet, while being close to the action. In addition to your veranda, you'll have access to the rooftop terrace. With only a few offices sharing the building, the terrace – and its unobstructed views of the Acropolis – are all yours.
4 BEDROOMS / 4 BATHROOMS
The first bedroom has a Queen bed and one twin, and an American-style jetted tub and hydromassage shower combo. The second bedroom has a Queen, twin and walk-in hydro-massage shower.
The third bedroom is fully wheelchair accessible, with a Queen bed plus a single convertible rollaway. This master bathroom has a double roll-in/walk-in massage shower (built to US ADA standards). Universal accessibility doesn’t have to mean skimping on the luxury.
The fourth bedroom (which can also be used as an office) features a double bed and walk-in massage shower. For added sleeping space, there’s a Queen-sized sofabed in the living room.
LIVELY LOCAL LIVING
If you can tear yourself away from your urban sanctuary, you’ll be rewarded with an authentic Athens neighborhood where locals live, eat, drink, and shop.
Join them in the 4 “plateias” (squares) down below for coffee and people-watching, then follow them to the two local farmers’ markets and learn try your hand at traditional Greek cooking.
Or simply leave it to the experts at one of the many restaurants and cafes on your doorstep. Stroll the tree-lined boulevard and share an ouzo with real Athenians while learning the fine art of relaxation.
Outside it’s authentic Athens; inside it’s the comforts of home – taken up a notch.
Expect the sleep of your life on our imported Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and super-soft, high thread-count linens.
In the kitchen, choose from a fully stocked array of kitchenware and appliances to make cooking a pleasure. And don’t worry about clean-up; there's a full-sized dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer (rare in central Athens).
For further convenience, ask us about our expert concierge service, private chef, or daily maid options. Why not book a wine-tasting while basking in the view of the Parthenon on the roof terrace?
You’re a short walk or tram ride from the city’s historic center, museums and bustling city squares. With a stay at Acropolis Blue, you'll feel like a real local with the best views in town.

About Carole Heiman Kezios
Wow, who would have thought when I told my husband I wanted to buy a little pied-a-terre in his hometown, Athens, Greece, that I'd end up with the greatest accidental career of my life? Born and raised in Chicago, my love for travel was evident early on. Perhaps it was my arrival in the world, early one December morning, way quicker than my siblings had, in fact so quick we were still enroute to the hospital, and I still hold the title of youngest patient ever admitted to that north suburban hospital! (And thus, as a Sagittarius, characteristically smitten with wunderlust). I traveled my home country extensively with my family as a child, and was fortunate to have parents who encouraged us to study a second language young.
Why Carole Heiman Kezios chose Athens
While my language of choice as a child was French, my culture of choice was Greek - My earliest jobs were always in Chicago's Greek diners, my university days filled with hours playing backgammon in the cafeteria with my Greek friends, and my Eurail passes always started and ended my European backpacking holidays in Greece. So no one was surprised when I met Basil, a romantic writer but practicing translator and linguist, born and bred in Athens, but transplanted to Chicago, fell in love, and married him. While our life in Chicago was full, rehabbing a warehouse we purchased to house ourselves, our son and our growing Greek translation agency, I longed to plant some roots for our family in Basil's hometown. A small studio overlooking Mount Lykavittos was to be our Athens crash pad, but thanks to what seemed then an unfortunate turn of events, our home in Athens ended up being the beautiful Athens First Luxury Duplex. Larger than we had planned, offering it as a short term furnished rental seemed the logical way to afford it. Little did we realize that it would become so popular we'd be sleeping on friend's couches rather than in our own Athens home! Tired of being homeless in Athens, we purchased a second penthouse directly adjacent to the Athens First. In 2006 we completed the renovations of three additional short term furnished rentals.
What makes this Apartment unique
As I said early on, this is the greatest accidental business one could imagine, and I love sharing my adopted city with visitors. Our guests repeatedly thank us for the little extras that often mean so much when you are planning what is often a once in a lifetime trip. As an ex-pat in Athens, I know the wonderful off the beaten path places that can make a holiday special, and I also know how to stay on the tourist path without feeling like you are being herded along with the crowds. Feel free to email me with your questions as you plan your trip to Athens - just one of the little extras guests of Greek Vacation Rentals will find when they share our homes in Athens.

Good location, comfortable flat, excellent service
Excellent customer service from Carole made our stay extremely relaxed. A driver (Christos) to take us to the Temple of Poseidon and get us to the airport on time made our last day particularly stress free. And we were glad of the guide Carole arranged for our Acropolis trip (the wonderful Maria) which made making sense of the place so much more satisfying on a short trip. The accomodation was good for us (4 women friends so no pressure on space)and we enjoyed just chilling out on the balcony for drinks and sometimes dinner. (Good take aways from the Alexandria on the corner.By the way there is a view of the Acropolis form the balcony but we missed it until we put the shade up a bit.
Explore Athens from Acropolis Blue
Below expectation, especially facilities in the small bed room, compared to website description. There were problems with toilet and fan but dealt with promptly.
Great apartment, great location, but most importantly, great host.
The Acropolis Blue apartment was perfect for our vacation, and Carole made the experience trouble-free and comfortable from beginning to end. We were a little apprehensive landing in a strange town and staying in a private residence, but the comprehensive welcome packet answered most of our questions. Being greeted by our driver, Nick, at the airport made our arrival into downtown Athens both painless and informative, and meeting Nadea at the apartment with a beautiful welcome basket made us feel welcome and at home right away.
Views of the Acropolis from our balcony and the roof terrace, especially at sunset were wonderful, and being within walking distance of the monuments and museums was great.
Thanks for some wonderful memories!
My extended family had an amazing time in this incredible designed apartment. Four bedrooms, four bathrooms and super comfy beds made sleeping easy for the seven of us. THe kitchen has everything you could want for cooking or reheating things. The neighborhood is out of the touristy parts of town and allows you to experience more of Athens.
The owners did an amazing job of helping us navigate “must do” trips and assisted in all parts of the trip from arranging transportation to and from the airport, booking tour guides and even finding a birthday cake for my nieces sweet sixteen.
Don’t hesitate in booking any of their properties...you will not be disappointed.
Athens in December 2017
The driver from the airport coordinated with Nadia so that we could enter the apartment and drop our bags prior to the apartment being ready. Nadia showed us how to operate the washer and dryer, remote control heat, and the electronic shades. She did an excellent job of telling us about local restaurants and gave us a couple estimates on how long it would take to walk from the apartment to various destinations. The welcome basket was well received…..thanks!
Our adult age kids played cards late one night and the apartment walls are sound proof enough that we didn’t hear them. We didn’t hear or see any of the tenants that occupy the business offices below the apartment. The elevator was convenient and was always operable.
We used the washer and dryer nearly non-stop while we were in the unit and both worked wonderfully.
The kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils for us to use. The 7 of us adults were very comfortable in the 4 bedrooms and had plenty of bathrooms for our own privacy.
The apartment is conveniently located near restaurants and many of the Athens attractions. Thanks for pointing out the business cards available to us with the apartment address on them.
Five Star Accomodation, Location, and Service
From reservation request to final departure, our group of eight was delighted with this rental experience. The location of the apartment provided easy exploration of important Athens sites. A thirty minute walk or a 5 euro cab ride delivers you to the Acropolis, Agora, Plaka, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, Parliament and more. A full service grocer is just across the street with bakeries, confectionaries, restaurants, and a taxi stand only steps away. Do not miss the quick serve Dionysus restaurant next door the apartment where we treated like neighbors and where we enjoyed superb souvlaki, kebabs, chicken and pork. Just across the street is a small shop with great freshly roasted nuts, whole bean coffee, granola, and more. Just a perfect location.
The apartment was nicely furnished and immaculate. Each of four bedrooms has a full bath with flexible sleeping accommodations that were perfect for our blend of couples and singles. The fully equipped kitchen included stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot and dishwasher, and a complete set of cookware and serving dishes. The hosts provided a generous basket of local food and wine to help us get quickly settled. A balcony off the main living space adds a comfortable fresh air gathering place and a rooftop patio adds even more with a bonus view of the Acropolis and Parthenon. We were greeted on arrival by the local contact who gave us a tour of the property and brief introduction to the area. She also provided a reassuring local contact number.
The bonus for this property was the extraordinary service. The hosts arranged for our transfers from the cruise port at the beginning of our stay and to the airport on our departure. They also provided private tours of Athens and nearby areas, including a private tour of the Acropolis with a licensed guide. Nikki, our driver, and Averkious, our Acropolis guide, were both excellent and we suggest you strongly consider these services which can be tailored to your group needs. Prices for these extra services were very competitive and the added convenience of making and paying for these arrangements through the host was a major plus.
