About Kelly Ringstad

We are the proud new owners with young kids (8 and 3) who have been enjoying the Whistler lifestyle since 1983 when my family bought our cabin here - with the dream that now we can create some of the same memories with our kids as they grow up. We both skied competitively on the Canadian Freestyle Team for many years and Jim has coached the Canadian and Russian Mogul teams over the past 10 years. With competing and now coaching we have been lucky to have traveled extensively since 1993 visiting many top ski resorts throughout the world and we strive to create and ensure a world class, welcoming, and relaxing retreat for your next vacation to Whistler.

Great place for a week long vacation!

We've been going to Whistler for several years now and have rented condo's in various complexes around the village. The Aspens is one of our favorites due to the proximity to Blackcomb ski/hiking lifts and the kid zone in the upper village. In addition, the pool is a nice feature for families. The pool is heavily used in the summer so don't expect solitude, and it can be a bit noisy, however the Aspen staff close the pool area consistently at 10pm each night. It's pretty easy to shut out the noise by closing the windows, however it was so hot during our stay (very unusual for Whistler) we had to keep them open all day & night. I believe the owners are planning to put A/C in and this will help with heat and noise. The unit is in a nice spot on the top floor with a great, usable deck with neighbors only on one side of it, if I remember correctly. It's well stocked, well decorated and well kept -- had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We only had to contact the owner once to get more dishwashing detergent and the response was instantaneous. This has become our favorite unit to rent at Whistler and we look forward to returning! *tip: skip the parking garage and park your car on the road outside of the complex. We were able to park there all week w/o paying the $17 daily fee that the Aspens charge. Many others did this as well. Just make sure you read all of the road/parking signs to avoid getting a ticket.

Very nicely updated with a location that can't be beat!

We spent 9 nights at this condo in early July and were very happy with the accommodation. It has been freshly updated and is fully stocked with everything you need. It's clean clean clean with super comfy beds too. The owners checked in and made sure all was well and the complimentary concierge service provided great options for activities during our stay. Laundry, pool and bike lock up were appreciated extras. Our only complaint would be that this is no air conditioning in the unit (other condos at the Aspens are air conditioned so we were surprised to be greeted by crazy heat on arrival). Air conditioning is a must for hot Whistler summer days. While there were fans for each room, the heat was stifling during the mid afternoon to early evening and this made us stay away from the condo during these periods - not what you want when you're paying top dollar for your condo. That aside, I recommend this space - the location is a stones throw from the upper village and you are right in the heart of an amazing mountain town.

good location, clean, a bit noisy

The condos are an easy walk to upper village and not much further to main village. The unit is smaller than it appears in photos (they probably all are), but Whistler is about being outside so it shouldn't matter. The unit faces the pool and it can be pretty noisy until around 10:30. It's supposed to close at 10:00 but doesn't seem to be enforced. Most kitchen needs are stocked. Beds are comfortable. The unit was pretty hot in late June. There are floor fans that help, but I would think twice about staying here if it's going to be high temperatures. Parking is $15 to $17 a day. Nice balcony with a grill, although it's a bit small to cook and eat comfortably with 4 or more people. The pool was great and big enough to handle quite a few folks. I would be happy to stay here again, although with so many options around will probably try something different next time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Aspens!

Great location. We skied in and out every day, even though it was mid April. There is a ski store in the building if you need to rent equipment. My only suggestion is to make a walking path to upper village so guests on their way to dinner in the Village don't have to trudge through snow. Otherwise perfect. Thanks!!

Thank you for such a great stay. Fantastic location - truly ski in ski out, excellent amenities, beautiful apartment, really well stocked so very homey for the family. We also took advantage of the consierge service which was excellent and very helpful. Will absolutely come back!!

Great updated condo in fabulous ski-in, ski-out location

We loved staying in this condo last week (Monday - Friday). We lucked out with the weather - great skiing conditions on Blackcomb side with absolutely no lift lines anywhere. The location couldn't be beat - we had our lift tickets waiting for us (Thanks to Shirley the concierge, who was also very helpful with general questions prior to our visit). We rented our skis from the rental place on the lower level which was perfect b/c we didn't have to leave the condo unit to schlep skis/boots/poles. The ski valet was convenient also. Everyone we came into contact with couldn't have been friendlier or more willing to help. The condition of the condo was great - you can tell it had been completely updated with new appliances and furniture. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of good pillows and linens. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of kitchen supplies (even oil, vinegar, salt, pepper). The grill outside on the porch was another nice surprise. We had intentions of eating out but after long days of skiing, it was so nice to be able to pick up some groceries in the little market in the village and grill out and enjoy a beer and some Netflix. It was also nice to have the garage available to park our rental car in the basement of the condo. We thought the parking rates were very reasonable ($40 for our stay). We would definitely recommend this condo, and this location to anyone who wants to stay on the Blackcomb side of Whistler!

Possibly the BEST SKI-IN/SKI-OUT location in Whistler located right on Blackcomb Mountain! Especially with the added complimentary ski/snowboard valet service from Summit Sport right in the Aspens lobby where you can also pick up equipment rentals or have your skis/board tuned for the next day. Our property is the top floor (4th) south facing corner unit with fantastic views looking up both Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains as well as overlooking 2 of the hot tubs and on the closest side to the ski hill. The base of Blackcomb/Wizard chair is less than a minute away once you've grabbed your skis. The Aspens is located right above the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort Hotel which is perfect for apres-ski drinks or dinner (or the spa!) as well as the other great restaurants available at the base of Blackcomb (Upper Village). The Four Season Hotel and Spa is also nearby as well as the cafes, ski shops and boutiques in the Upper Village which also hosts the popular Whistler Farmer's Market every Sunday from June-October and the Kids Adventure Zone. There is also a small grocery store (Upper Village Market) across from the Chateau if needed without having to go into the main Village grocery store or Marketplace IGA. Easy walking distance to the main Village restaurants and night life (less than 10 min) or can utilize the free Whistler shuttle bus.
