Enjoy the vintage ski-lodge style of this Mount Hood vacation rental and enjoy one of Oregon's most renowned wooded regions up close and personal. Nestled in the forest on the slopes of Mount Hood, and only a short drive to Welches, you're far away from civilization, but close enough for that well-deserved massage you've been craving.
This chalet follows the natural slope of the mountain it sits upon, and offers the ultimate cabin experience with a little extra comfort. Relax outside on the outdoor patio with its BBQ, lawn chairs, and private hot tub for your enjoyment. Snuggle up in the living room next to the fireplace, and lounge upon the mismatched furniture.
The kitchen is quaint and keeps with the 70s style: matching appliances and grape vine wallpaper give this kitchen some character. Enjoy the ambiance it creates at the dining table set for six, and utilize the whole space, including the gadgets like the tea kettle and coffee maker.
This chalet comes with two bedrooms and two lofts: head down the hall from the living room to the master suite with a queen bed, and the smaller room with a full bed. These two rooms share one bathroom. Head up the first flight of stairs to the first loft with two sets of bunk beds, plenty of space for games, and a full bathroom that includes an in-house sauna and soaking tub. Up one more flight of stairs in the smaller loft is a full-sized futon couch that can become a bed, or just be used as a quiet reading space. Altogether, this home can sleep up to eight guests, with a maximum of six adults.
This home also comes with a laundry room( but no WiFi or TVs), an enormous backyard for your children and up to two dogs to enjoy (dogs are welcome with a nightly pet fee). There's also a freshly re-graded and re-graveled driveway for your convenience (a vehicle with four-wheel drive is still recommended).
Unwind and unplug up here with your closest friends and family. Enjoy Welches and its five-star spas and golf courses, or just hike around and take in Mount Hood's beauty. When you stay at this Mount Hood chalet, you'll want to stay for good!

Great place- Spa and sauna!
We enjoyed our time here. Easy access to fun and interesting places around Mt. Hood. Even Hood River is a beautiful hour long drive. We enjoyed playing games and conversations in the spa. As stated there is no wifi, also be aware cell phone reception was non existent unless you walked outside on the deck. We had ATT, Verizon, and Sprint phones, all the same results. If phone reception is important to you, this is not a good place. We did get good reception as you drive down the road and improved as you got nearer the highway. The driveway is steep but did not have difficulty with 2 or 4 wheel drive vehicles. We did not have any snow. If there was snow and ice, could be very difficult. We celebrated Thanksgiving here, and the kitchen was missing important items- large fry pan and pot for example. While the cabin description boasts a well equipped kitchen, bring some of your own stuff- Large fry pan, large pot, cutting board, sharp cutlery, pancake griddle, and anything special for your meal plans. I don't want the negative comments about the kitchen to deter you. Again, we had a great time and this is a nice place.
Summer Skiing at Mt Hood
I brought my team of skiers here to ski at Mt. Hood for a week. The house was awesome and located in the woods of Welches near the Salmon River. Lots of room and the hot tub was a great addition to soak sore muscles after a day on the hill. Nights were mostly quiet with the exception of some noisy neighbours. Great hiking trails near by and close driving distance to amenities like groceries and fuel. The cabin is showing it's age but suited our needs perfectly. I would recommend staying here to a small group of 5-6 or family.
It's a nice cabin with a great view from the hot tub. Generally easy to access, although you should note their warnings for 4 wheel drive are 100% accurate. Even with no snow you'll want something that can climb the steep driveway.
Great amenities at this location! The hot tub and sauna were much of why I went after this property. The driveway hill is very tall, making access a bit tricky for a regular car with rain/mud and snow to consider, my Honda made it-but not easily. Great hot tub out on the deck, unfortunately not very private as the neighbors on two sides are in the direct line of sight. In general this is a nice little getaway spot that I'd rent again without hesitation!
Great property, horrible neighbors
We loved the property so much! but the neighbors with the garbage house had a large, extremely loud (including yelling fights) party that went on all night long one of the nights we were there. It was literally still going at 8 a.m. My kids and I got no sleep and were quite freaked out by the things we heard and saw going on over there. We were relieved to leave.
Great for Mt. Hood ski trips
You'll have a lot of fun here.
