On The Piste Next To Blackcomb Base, Ski To The Lift To Access Both Mountains

The Aspens sits in an outstanding slope-side location, with true ski in-ski out access. Stroll out of the unit, pick up your Ski's from the complimentary ski storage, strap on your skis and off you go, ski 100 meters to the Wizard express or Magic chairlifts. You are then able to access the whole ski area of both Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains.

Our unit has been renovated this year with new granite kitchen and bathroom tops and tiling. New carpets, appliances, decorations, and flat screen TV's.


There is a 36inch flatscreen HD TV in the bedroom and a 46 inch wall mounted HD TV in the living area. In addition there is a blu ray/dvd player and stereo with ipod connector. The unit has free wireless internet access and free telephone calls for both long and short distance.

The unit features a fully equipped kitchen , dining area and a gas fireplace. Your family can also enjoy the year-round heated pool, 3 hot tubs which sit on the edge of the piste. There is also an exercise room and laundry facilities.

Ski school is also located 100meters away at blackcomb base.

We also provide a complimentary local CONCIERGE who will be happy to arrange lift tickets, ski hire, ski school, other activities, restaurants, grocery delivery etc before or during your stay. They can also advise you.

Blackcomb base provides some local dining options, the Chateau Whistler is next door for other dining options or shopping.

Alternatively Whistler Village is a 10 min scenic stroll away for shopping and dining or the free shuttle bus into the village stops 100 meters from the Aspens entrance.

About Brendan Smith

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Whistler in 1997 and fell in love with the village. We returned with our first child 9 years later and continued to return annually with our children. We have used our unit for many years. Our children learned to ski here from when they were 3-4 years old and are all now very good skiers thanks to Whistler kids ski school program but more recently through the 'ride tribe' program for teenagers.

Why Brendan Smith chose Upper Village

We spotted the Aspens when on honeymoon in 1997 and came back to buy our unit due to its unique ski in ski out position on Blackcomb mountain. It is ideal for families or those who may not wish to eat out every night. The hot tubs are in an exceptional setting right next to the piste. The position on Blackcomb mountain allows you to access the whole Whistler / Blackcomb terrain from outside your door. You can avoid the longer queues at Whistler base and Ski Blackcomb or alternatively get the new bubble lift up to the peak to peak gondola and then across to Whistler

The Benchlands area were the Aspens is situated is quieter than the village which is a 5 min free bus ride away or a 7 min stroll on a lit path through the woods. It is positioned right next to the Chateau Whistler which allows general public access to their bars and restaurants which is a 2 min walk away.

Comfortable and convenient

Loved the location with ski in/out access. Fully equiped we were avle to eat in most meals as well easily access shuttle into village. We will be back.

Great Condo with Excellent Location

Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful stay at this Aspens Blackcomb condo. The location of the condo for ski in and ski out access was unparalleled. Throw in the ski valet and it couldn't have been easier. The kids loved the slopeside hot tub! It was also a very easy walk into the Village. The unit was very functional for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked and all beds were comfortable. It was so nice to be able to park our car underground when we arrived and to not need it again until we left. We would absolutely rent this condo again and we look forward to our next ski vacation!

It is noisy

Unit is oriented into the main entry, quite noisy with all the people and cars and busses to come and go basically all night.

Unit itself is nice, relatively spacious.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay as we would have hoped. The Aspens is a busy condo complex as it is in a perfect position on the mountain with true ski in ski out facilities. We are glad you thought our unit was nice. It has been upgraded and modernised compared to many in the building. Our unit has previously never been given less than 4 stars from all our reviews (check our reviews here and other websites) so we are very disappointed. We have stayed in various units and unfortunately you cannot get away from some noise at times. If your hillside you will get some from snowcat groming and late revellers coming home. If your poolside you can get quite a lot of pool and hot tub noise up until 10pm and then again people coming home late via the piste entrance. The quietest aspect is facing the woods but you get no view and no sunshine. There are pro's and cons with all aspects in the building. The last bus that drops off guests at the Aspens never usually arrives later than midnight (unless delayed) They do not run drop offs through the night likewise its rare for guest to drive in late at night and certainly we have not experienced this. Likewise complexes in town can be much more noisey due to proximity to bars , restaurants and nightclubs. Benchlands is relatively quite. Once again thank you for taking the time to post a review.

No washing or drying facility in room but facilities are available in building.

Good room temperature control.

Excellent and popular hot tub facility.

Would come again very pleasant place to stay.

Great location, unit and owners

We stayed here for four nights in Mar. 2015 and really enjoyed it. The unit was exactly as shown/described. No bait and switch here. It was the perfect size for two people. I was happy to find the bedding and towels were new and high quality- "gently used" linens gross me out. We were looking for a place that was near all the action, but not right on top of it. (I had read a ton of reviews for other properties that complained about party noise.) This one fit the bill perfectly. The owner, Brendan, was responsive, informative and very easy to work with. We would stay here again.

Perfect family ski holiday

We spent 4 nights and loved it! This unit is immaculate and perfect size for our family of 4. First time at Aspens and we will definitely be back. Can't beat the Blackcomb Mountain ski in/ski out experience with Chateau Whistler and Upper Village just minutes away. The owner and concierge were an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend this unit and location!

The Aspens is located at the base of Blackcomb mountain. Ski from the complex doorstep down (100yds) to the chairlifts with direct access up Blackcomb mountain or Ski across to Whistler mountain via 1 chairlift. You can access the whole ski area from the Aspens complex.

Ski school is also on your doorstep. Local restaurants and shops no more than 100 metres away. Our unit is newly renovated with granite worksurfaces and new appliances. There is a 46 inch flat screen TV in the lounge and 36 inch flat screen in the bedroom. Both with cable and HD. Blu ray dvd disc player, stereo with ipod connectivity and free local and long distance telephone calls. Make the most of your stay with the help of our local CONCIERGE who will be happy to book lift tickets, ski school, ski hire, restaurants, winter activities or general advice both before and during your stay.
