We just had the living room couches recovered 9/16. They are sooo pretty!

The condo is the first floor of the building.

This is our vacation home so we have tried to include everything that we want when we travel. The condo has ceramic tile and wooden ceilings throughout. We have two bedrooms and two baths with about 1,500 sq ft inside. The carport and front porch are also ceramic tile. The furnishings are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with appliances and cooking amenities, we have a large flat screen TV in the living room and master bedroom and unlimited HS internet (no extra charge). We even have a magic jack telephone with a US number that can call to US or Canada FREE and can receive calls as well.

We purchased the Condo in November 2014 and have been shipping down new/better stuff ever since. We are very proud that our place is probably the most comfortable in Sunset Villas because we pay attention to creature comforts.

The very large main bedroom has a new King size bed, two dressers, a closet and a 42" TV as well as a desk perfect for a laptop and work area if you just can't quite leave it all behind.

The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and a Full size bed and a closet as well as a separate bathroom and shower.

The bathrooms both feature large, fully tiled showers with built-in seats. The hot water is an on demand system to conserve on electricity.

In the living room, we have a dining area and two couches as well as a 50" flat screen TV and DVD player and a large assortment of movies. Both couches are also a sofabeds. There is a dining table for four and the kitchen bar has two tall chairs for additional seating.

The kitchen includes many small appliances - blender, toaster, toaster oven, food processor, coffee pot, microwave - as well as a large assortment of cooking pots/pans and lots of storage containers. There is also a dining area/bar in the kitchen area with two tall chairs.

Each bedroom has its own air conditioner and there is an additional air conditioner in the living room. We also have several fans that many people find sufficient for cooling and save substantially on electrical usage.

On the porch, we have a hammock and a propane grill as well as beautiful custom made patio furniture.

The carport is large enough for a small car or to use for entertaining as well. In the utility room, we have a washer and dryer.

The prices posted assume occupancy of 1 or 2 persons. If more than 2 people, an additional charge of $10/pp per day over 2 will apply.

Like most owner operated places on Roatan, we offer an electricity allowance due to the extremely high electricity cost. We allow $4/day to cover the fridge, fans and water heater. Many people find use of the A/C unnecessary, particularly from November through May and the allowance will usually cover your electricity expense. However, if you run all 3 A/C 24/7, your expense for a week may be several hundred dollars. Our manager will read the meter at check in and check out and you will only be responsible for the actual cost over your allowance.

Why Charles Jones chose West End

After traveling throughout the US, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Costa Rica, we discovered Roatan and fell in love. Our passion has been snorkeling and Roatan offers the best reef we have found. We chose Sunset Villas specifically due to its proximity to the beach and the heart of Roatan activity. However, it is removed enough to avoid the bustle if you so desire.

What makes this condo unique

The condo is quite spacious. It has been furnished with just about everything we can think of because we use it ourselves. We pride ourselves that we have better amenities than other comparably priced condos. The community is quiet and secure. West End beach is only a few steps away where all the Roatan activity begins! We are near the 'nightlife' of West End but removed enough to not hear it. West End Beach is about 150 yards away where you can relax, catch a water taxi to West Bay, pick up a snorkel, diving, or fishing trip, or just about anything else. The mornings and evenings on the front porch in the hammock are peaceful and beautiful. Having a large pool on the property is a wonderful benefit not generally found outside the large resorts. The 24 hr security makes the community safer than some other locations

Spacious comfy place, close to main street. Every possible small appliance is provided along with wifi, cable, a safe box, and ceiling fans. Offers both privacy with 2 separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom AND a nice common area with comfy couches and a place to dine. I'd give it more stars but the place is in need of some TLC.

Nice condo and great location

This was my second time to stay at this condo, so that should tell you how much I like this place. No complaints whatsoever. Great location, high speed wifi, cable, free calls back to the US, 24 hr security, and a great price. Not much more to say except the property manager, Caroline is great as well. She will arrange a taxi to and from the airport and provide you with recommendations for dining and activities on the island.

Nice big condo, about a 2 minute walk to the main area of West End. Well kept, clean, big. The building manager, Caroline, took really good care of us. Charles, the owner, was very pleasant and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Great Condo and Location

My oldest son, a friend, and I stayed here at Charles' condo while we dove for a week and couldn't have asked for better accommodations and location. If you're looking for a dive shop here in the West End, I suggest Roatan Divers; they're fantastic. Back to the condo, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped, and the A/C worked well and cooled the rooms very quickly. The electrical costs for the week was $68. The WiFi worked great and no issues with speed. The MagicJack that Charles provides was a very nice feature. We could all call back to the US each night at no charge and talk with our wifes. And as has been mentioned in other reviews, the location is perfect. A 5-10 minute walk to anywhere in the West End. I had several email communications back and forth with Charles and Caroline (property manager) before we left for our trip and they were both great with providing suggestions and helpful tips to make our trip even more enjoyable.

Great place for everyone

We actually rented two condos and this was the best one. Clean, comfortable, good beds, great stove and all the cooking utensils you could want. Short 2 minute walk to the main street and 5 more minutes to our fantastic dive shop, Reef Gliders. Kersti, was fantastic at handling everything and if you're concerned about the cost of electricity, don't be. We ran the bedroom a/c units every night and main living room a couple times during the day and our bill was $60.00 at the end of the week. All units are very efficient and cool the rooms in about 10 minutes. We dove every morning and would return about 2pm and as long as you closed the condo it was still pretty cool inside. I believe this is an advantage over the 2nd story units and this is a great place, ESPECIALLY if you are diving as it's close to town but quiet at night.

In West End, you can swim from the shore, relax on the beach, eat and drink, or arrange just about any kind of activity available on Roatan. The complex has two pools and a small cafe. The standard rates does not include electricity. We give an allowance for electrical usage but, in order to keep rates low, the renter is responsible for the electrical usage over the allowance. The allowance will generally cover the electrical usage other than the air conditioners. If you run the a/c 24/7, you will have a substantial electrical usage. Most tenants find a cost of $5-$10 per day for use of the air conditioners while they are present in the condo.
