About Stephanie and Duane Scoville

We moved from Kansas to this amazing 1860's historic homestead. Original outbuildings and pond. We live in the 1920's cabin but the original homestead that we are sharing is the reason we bought the property. We back to amazing boulder field and 100 year old digs for minerals. Duane is a flyfishing guide and horse wrangler for the Tarryall River Dude Ranch and Stephanie is the retail director for Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center. We also rent out our property for weddings and reunions. We have had music festivals and Market at Idlewild Ranch. We have 6 kids and 13 grandkids (that is why there is a pixie pine fort and fairy cave on the property}. We would love to share our mountain paradise with you!

Stephanie and Duane Scoville purchased this cabin in 2007

The cabin was amazing!

The pictures don't do this cabin justice. Small and cozy, it's the perfect place to get away and reconnect with each other. With plenty of games, hiking, and wildlife viewing, this is the ideal place to stay.We had an amazing time, and are anticipating returning soon!

Fantastic! Rustic, peaceful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I visited this cabin in October. We were looking for a quiet weekend away and were not disappointed. The owners home is right next to the cabin. Stephanie had a fire started when we arrived and that was the last time we saw anyone. Beautiful hiking right in the backyard, deere grazing just outside the window, and only a few minutes drive to lots of local attractions. Great stay!

Everything was amazing

  • 5 of 5

I thought that perhaps as some time passed, that I would find something to dislike about our stay here. It hasn't happened. From the hosts to the beautiful hiking just out back, we loved our time here. If you are looking for a modern, sterile environment, this isn't for you, but if you love authenticity and comfort, this is the place for you! Stephanie, I sure hope you find some cast iron...and don't let being a movie star go to your head!!

Relaxing & Awesome

This was the perfect place for us. Celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. Cabin was everything we wanted. Rustic, quaint, historical and absolutely stress free. Will go back sometime.

Great rustic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our two nights at the cabin. It definitely has a historical, rustic feel, but Stephanie provides all the comforts you need with running water and small kitchen appliances! Don't miss driving through the 11Mile Canyon during your stay.
