This cozy house offers a quiet, peaceful atmosphere within feet from the waters edge. Mill Lake is a private, 88 acre all sports lake offering great fishing, boating and swimming. During the winter months, enjoy ice fishing and other winter sports, then warm up inside while relaxing with the view of the lake. During the summer, enjoy a leisurely ride around the lake in the provided paddle boat, row boat or bring your own boat and take advantage of the boat ramp on the adjacent property. Spend the day on the water or take a 15 minute drive into Battle Creek or Hastings for endless activities such as golfing, shopping, gambling and museums. Comes fully furnished including linens, towels and cookware.
18 years ago we bought our cottage on Mill Lake to have a quiet place to go and get away from the busy every day routines. We also wanted our children to have a place to take their friends and enjoy the great outdoors. Our time was split between relaxing and having fun. Our summer weekends were consumed with tubing, fishing, swimming, attending the Hot Air Balloon Festivals, Worlds Largest Breakfast Table along with lots of local attractions. Winter weekends were spent ice fishing, ice skating, sledding and indoor puzzles and games. Thru the years, our family has built many memories on this lake and in town at festivals. In 2012 we purchased and rebuilt the house next to ours. Now our friends and family can also enjoy the area but yet have a private place to stay.

Great location just off the main road with only a 15 minute drive into Battle Creek or Hastings for unlimited activities, shopping and festivals. It is also centrally located between Detroit and Chicago. The lake itself is large enough to have fun on but yet small enough to not be busy or overcrowded.
Being a small, private lake offers a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Located on the east side of the lake offers longer evenings and views of the sunset. The dead end road keeps the traffic to a minimal. All sports lake offers endless water activities.
Loved the cabin! It had plenty of space inside to spread out, but is small and cozy! We just wanted to get away for the weekend and out of the city. This place was awesome. I was able to go for a run near the lake without too much worry about traffic. The only downside was there was no wifi (which I should have known beforehand) but that made for a very fun day trip into town to work a little and get dinner and go bowling. The cabin was a great way to relax for the weekend and get away from the stresses of life.
We stayed here over holiday to visit family in Battle Creek. Cabin was toasty warm w wonderful views & honking of trumpeter swans. Prepped big Christmas dinner in well stocked kitchen w nice gas stove. Appreciate the outdoor motion activated yard light after dark when heading out w dogz. Both dogz loved staring out the patio doors at lake & ice activity.
Just a quick get away from Chicago for my little family of 4 and our dog. House is clean, new and very cozy. I liked that there is no WIFI, we spent the time playing board games, fishing and just relaxing. Very nice and quiet at this time of the year.
The modern, comfortable cottage is situation right on a lovely lake with swans and ducks. The property has a small dock and sandy area. We stayed as the weather got much cooler, so we did not take advantage of the outdoor activities.
The property is a bit of a distance from the nearest towns and restaurants. While there was decent cell service, there wasn't wifi access available onsite.
We enjoyed our weekend at the cottage very much. If you are looking for a secluded getaway, this would be a perfect destination.
We did not quite know what to expect when we started on a weekend to this cottage. This being our first time embarking upon a Michigan vacation, we were more than hoping for a good experience.
Thoroughly reading the description of the location and reviews, we thought we would give it a chance. It seemed to have everything we wanted: cute and quaint, comfortable, not too far from home, pet friendly, and a lake.
Upon arrival, everything was in order and very clean. Clean is always good. The home is amazing for the size. It is open, bright, modern, comfortable, and remarkably furnished. The patio, following the pattern of the inside of the home, is well done. It is furnished with a table for four, umbrella, and several other seats, including two next to the short dock.
The lake is quiet at the end of October and beautiful with the changing tree color. Being a small and private lake, it probably doesn’t get very busy. While walking our Labradors around the lake, the locals were very friendly, with a few willing to stop and chat with us.
The bottom line: This cottage is enchanting. Very nicely done, on a quiet lake, a great value, and well furnished. The owners, Theresa and Richard, are accommodating, sweet (sorry about that description, Richard), and have the wonderful gift of hospitality. It wouldn’t have surprised me to see a Starbucks’ barista in the morning to make our lattes.
This is now our number one vacation spot we will hopefully get to several times a year. Our only hesitation in writing this review is that many will come to this charming place and make it difficult for us to get reservations. So, just forget everything I’ve said. :)
The place was very clean and nice! Theresa and her husband were very kind and helpful! And I love that the place is pet friendly! I would definetly recommend this cabin for a get away weekend! It was nice and quite there and only a couple min. from town! I would definetly go back there! Thank you so much again Theresa and Richard!
